G1 Pony Packaging from the 80ies
« on: September 20, 2012, 03:57:48 AM »
i met a very nice lady on a flea market here in austria, we talked about ponies and about that her niece liked the 80ies ponies more than the new ones. i gave her my business card and some months later i received a mail from her, she wrote she had some pony packagings because she bought some MIBs for her niece, who unpacked them for playing. i bought them from her and here they are (its funny because they seem to be english) ^^:

if anyone needs better (bigger) pics for her/his blog, please PM me and if anyone is interested in one or more of them, PM me too ^^

I would so like one of those, but I'm not allowed to buy anything for the next 27 days  >_<

So if there's still one left by then I'm interested!

My question is how much did she spend on ponies for her niece?
It's awesome that she sent you the boxes instead of throwing them away or something.

I completely agree. I got Zecora sent to me the other day by Madhatterda, and I was looking at the back and thinking 'is that it?' There's about one line of story on there. G1s had such amazingly detailed backcards. They definitely make me nostalgic, looking at them :)

To be honest backcard art started getting poor as early as G2 and to now its just pretty much re coloured vectors rather than anything interesting. I understand thats the way of the world now but perhaps the unique "art" we see with G1 is what helps make it so special :)

I haven't seen any backcards since G1  I just remember them as a child. I feel disappointed for children now who have two lines about a pony that rhyme and that's it. And you're right, the artwork was much lovelier.

Now I want the G1 backcards. *grabby hooves*
