I've had multiple piercings with no problems but medical needles are horrible.

A spike through the tongue or lip, whatever.  But a tiny syringe, hide me.

I punctured my thumb right to the nail with the eye of a sewing needle and it wasn't nearly as traumatizing as the last time I had blood drawn.

I'd rather cut off a finger than take an injection.

Trader & Shipping Support / Re: Tracking number?
« on: March 01, 2013, 07:11:20 AM »
It's completely normal with most international shipping to get little to no updates on tracking numbers. The post offices of different countries have unlinked tracking systems and databases. Linking the systems of all those independently run offices would be insanely complicated and expensive. Many times the number you get isn't even a tracking number but rather a customs number. The tracking services you get before the package leaves the origin country will vary greatly by country and shipping service (Priority vs. Express vs. Global Express Guaranteed).

Private carriers like UPS and FedEx can offer international tracking because the same parent company manages operations in all of the countries served. They don't have the disconnect that the post office has. It's also part of why they tend to be more expensive.

The purses scare me- those poor ponies!  :yikes:

I was staring at the picture when I suddenly realized it was half a pony plastered on there.  It's super creepy.

Someone should start doing these with the baity ponies where the head and body are really mismatched in color!  Just a head on a plaque like a hunting trophy!

Bought the 3 metallics in the wave 4 blind bags. I had said I wasn't going outside the 1st generation of ponies but they are just so cute!

It's total bullcrap that you have to be the owner of the photo to report the fraud.  You can't always track down the owner of a photo stolen from another website and using the pic goes beyond copyright infringement.  It's a fraudulent misrepresentation of the product.

Definitely sparkly Sunspot. She's the pony I remember most clearly from my childhood. I took her everywhere.

She looks a lot like the one at Ponyland Press.

My guess would be that the dyes/paints used in different production runs (possibly in different factories) had different tones or were used in different saturation levels causing the deeper colors in some of the batches.

I remember from working in a print shop that the same exact color could vary in different press runs.  The burnt orange in the letterhead was sometimes darker, sometimes lighter depending which press person printed it and the settings they used.  Changing suppliers also makes a difference.

Something like this manufactured in Hong Kong, they may not have been so concerned with adjusting for proper color matching.

The pony looks a lot like this playset one (except the tail color).  Sounds like the one PinkRosedust has.

Just joined to check out some of the recent developments in pony collecting.
I have a rather small collection and am just thinking of adding a few more to it.

Haha!  "A few."  That was my plan, too.  Two weeks and 20 ponies later...

Seriously though, welcome.  Have fun with your collecting.   :)

A lot of people swear by the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.
Others use acetone, but you have to be careful around the eyes and cutie marks and work in a well ventilated area. Pure acetone can be harsh on your lungs.
