I love the MLP cartoons.. I do! I'm not trying to be a buzzkill but I can't stand the singing! It's really horrible and at times downright embarrassing to listen to. I find them really distracting too...and is it just me or are there more and more of them?

This feeling pretty much extends to every Disney movie/cartoon too (Except the Lion King for some reason) and maybe some of the sweet G1 episodes... but otherwise bleh!

Tell me I'm not alone on this :p

I'm not always a fan either. I mean I did like the songs in Firefly's Adventure and a few from the G1 movie were good, too. I haven't watched any other episodes in a while but I feel like I remember a lot of the songs being really lame and just...forced maybe? Kinda feel the same way for FiM. I like some songs but others are just meh, and sometimes they just seem really unnecessary.

I generally like the singing in Disney movies though.

I've always thought that some of the music in like the old Hobbit cartoon and the Last Unicorn and such was pretty horrible. Don't even start me on the Brave Little Toaster.

Huh, I think the Brave Little Toaster has some terrific songs! (Especially B movie show)
I also recall enjoying the opening song to the Last Unicorn, despite any imperfections.

I'm generally okay with singing in cartoons provided that it's not forced and the song is well written and such. There are many Disney songs that are "meh" to me but I don't think I cringe at any of them.

The music from the Last Unicorn is by the band America, they have some really good songs outside of the last unicorn.

I totally agree with you Salli and Jinxxy-  there are some cute tunes in the MLP show, but mostly it just makes me cringe.

I do like the songs by America in the Last Unicorn- but there is that ONE song sung by Mia Farrow- and it is NOT GOOD.  I've never understood why they didn't dub out her singing voice...

I don't remember the songs from the Brave LIttle Toaster but I might have blocked them out   

When the songs come on in FIM, I fastforward through them as fast as possible...

I think the songs in FiM have become generally worse.  I think as the show has gained popularity, the decisions regarding songs has gone down as they try to do what they think is popular instead of what works.  When your stars of a music-based movie have the worst lyrics of said movie, you really need to worry about your songwriter.

As for G1, they needed more Sarah Partridge singing.  It's her profession more than a voice actor.

One song in MLP I CANNOT STAND is.... *pits up fakie sheild* the 'ill go it alone' song Lickity Split sings in the MLP movie. My ears seriously bleed torward the end so I would fast forward over that part of the movie!!!

I am sure thair are a few more..just can't think of them right now.

But yeah each gen is difrent, and well G4 and G1 songs are waaayyy difrent.
Even G3 that I cannot stand more than the 80's ones. But I am not a huge G3 fan so my opinon on that is matterless anyway.

I mute out singing in cartoons. Even Jem, and that's the selling point...  Yes, even Rainbow Brite and Bettina isn't that bad (who also was Megan.)

Gargamel can't sing. It is horrendous. I watch Smurfs just about every other day. Just no. What were they thinking?

Most of the time I "watch" The Last Unicorn to listen to America. I love America (have all their albums), they still tour, need to go see them.

I like all of the songs in Aladdin. At least Disney chooses vocalists that can sing even if they aren't the voice actors. But overall I think the trend has been an overkill of Disney songs becoming popular radio tunes.

Hmmm..... I think no songs in Disney bother me at all, and I love all songs in the Last Unicorn!!!  Omg I was sooooo happy when that movie came out on bluray! xD

Do not stand or songs in drawings or more films, or the mlp much less of disney, you know, and I like to imagine that in reality, imagine you suddenly falls from the chair, for example, and suddenly you sing, raises and dance showing how you must overcome your problems! No, thank you, I prefer the anime openings that,
