Ponies and ebay and blocked shipping/email
« on: April 26, 2012, 07:54:54 PM »
Hey I'm not going to post the auction but there's this pony I really want. It's being shipped from China from a seller with good feedback however they seem to have set the auctions to only accept US buyers. The actual item description says they ship to any country. If I try to email them from Ebay it says I'm unable to, meaning they probably turned off emails. How can I bypass this? I really want to order this pony but I can't figure out how to contact them...

I have a US address I could switch Ebay to but I really need it sent to the UK and I can't guarantee they would if I switched it..and after awhile Ebay is going to get suspicious with my switching it maybe...What should I do?

Edit: They also state they only send to the approved Ebay email address and repeatedly ask you to email them through Ebay but it doesn't work...

"We're sorry but we couldn't find an answer for you. Unfortunately, this seller is unable to respond to your question. We suggest reviewing the item again to see if your answer is in the seller's listing."

Depending on how long it's estimated to take (if it takes less than 4 weeks, since I'm moving soon), I could buy it for you and then ship it to you. ^_^
I really don't know what you can do to bypass it other than switch the addresses and have them ship there or have someone else buy it for you. It seems very weird that a seller would block messages, though... Maybe they can't speak English? Or could it be an eBay glitch? :/
That also means in case of a problem, the whole case would have to go strictly through eBay which seems like a much unneeded hassle..

Hmm..seems weird that they are in China and only ship to the US.  But to each his own.

I am going to assume since they have it set to only US buyers that may be why you can not email them.  There is a setting that if you block certain countries you can check off that they can not contact you either.

But anyhoooo.....if you need someone to help, I would be more than happy to do so.  Just PM me the details and I will let you know.  :)

This is a stupid, stupid thing on Ebay.
If a seller doesn't tick the box for the country (by mistake or other) then you can't even email them.

The way around it is to look up the seller (advanced search) then click contact member and choose that it's not a question about an item and then you can message them and ask them to change the settings.

I think the ebay messaging system is such a pain these days ! :yikes:  If you havent already asked someone to buy the pony for you, and you want to try again to contact the seller, then try what Sebby suggested - I did that before and it worked  ;)  other than that there are people here who are willing to help you out if you need it  (thankies everyone who offered    :lovey: )

I did manage to get through to the seller, who sent back a garbled message about UK post being slow. First time I've ever heard that one XD

At least you will be getting the pony, so no need to worry about the seller and slow shipping from Asia!
