I'm also really happy that there are people who take old cats as their pets! For me, my cats came as kittens, but I could also have taken an adult cat. My mom wanted kittens one more time in her life, so that's why we ended up with them. If my mother ever wants us to have a third cat, then it can be the older one.

I always knew my next cat, unless I found a stray kitten like Mousie, was going to be a senior. I think Aster is still young. She can jump up onto the bed from the floor and also jumped up on the counter once. I have steps leading up to the bed but I don't think she realizes what they're for

She's been sniffling and sneezing. I get a free vet exam for adopting her so I think I'll take her next week. Maybe she has allergies.

Thanks everyone! She's opened up enough to want to play now. I'm going to put a Chewy order in for new toys. I have a ton of cat toys but they smell like Mouse and Bass, besides she should have new toys of her own. I was told she likes wand toys the best.

i miss having cats. my partner is horribly allergic so theres no way we'll ever get cats. i love my dogs but i do miss having cats.

I figured something out about her. I thought she had a nervous tic because she kept licking her back foot in bed with me. Last night I watched more closely and she is suckling on her foot while she kneads with her front feet. She must not have gotten to spend enough time with her mother.
