G3 Ice-skating pony - how to disassemble?
« on: July 11, 2013, 11:46:13 PM »
OK - I have a G3 ice skating pony here, and I want to make a mermaid pony out of it. I'd done some of the work so far, but I can't work out how to fix the head-  I want to take the hair out and take out the mechanism, but having terrible trouble :/ Any thoughts?

Can you cut around the hard plastic circle by keeping your exacto knife in the soft vinyl and going very slowly?

OK - that's not working, have a neat incision all the way around, but it's still stuck fast :(

Aikarin's tutorial might be helpful :) I pulled one apart to make Zila

If I recall, I think I used a screwdriver to pry parts out and used brute force to seperate the sections of body.
I know I had to cut out the neck seams, and Zila was then stuck back together (minus her insides) with superglue and apoxy.
