Pony Corral / Re: My six favorite Twice as Fancy ponies
« on: April 03, 2022, 03:49:42 PM »
hmmm... i voted for....

  • munchy - okay. i love yellow ponies even though yellow isn't my favourite colour. i had to. i'm a fan of food-themed ponies, but this one doesn't have a dessert or candy motif! which is pretty unusual, and i like it. she makes me crave sandwiches, tbh. lol
  • sugarberry - she's GORGEOUS. stunning. i'm not sure what more i should say, because she's one of my favourites and i've always thought she's very beautiful. also food themed
  • yum yum - she's cute. a candy themed pony = instant like for me. she has a simple yet effective concept. i like her mane a lot...
  • scoops - again. food-themed pony. she has a very pastel look, with her soft colour scheme. adorable!
  • pillow talk - she looks so shy and soft to me. she's beautiful. i always think of her as a very gentle, caring mom
  • dancing butterflies - very nice. gorgeous. i've always loved her bright colours. also, she's yellow!
(all in no particular order)

hmmm... this is going to be interesting. since i only own G3s and G4s....

G1:
Spoiler
  • SS twilight. i just love her. she looks so soft and fancy. but my favourite thing from her it's her cutie mark!
  • medley. i think she's cute... and her mane colour is pretty unique.
  • blueberry baskets. very blue and seems that she would smell very good. her mane looks so brushable...
  • skyflier. she has an interesting design, quite simple but effective!
  • caramel crunch. i love her colour scheme.
  • sugarberry. what a nice lady! her argentinian variant is pretty nice, too.
  • gypsy. i'm in love with her design, she kinda reminds me of skyflier, but more fancy
  • hopscotch. she seems fun! i like her mane, too.
  • speedy. by far, my favourite TE. i like her concept and colour scheme!
  • ringlet. she's beautiful, fancy, and seems shy. a beautiful pastel pony.

G2:
Spoiler
  • copper glow. i'm in love with her scarlet red mane. a very unique pony in general, she has a very uncommon colour scheme! besides, she's one of the few G2 unicorns, that makes her more unique!
  • dainty dove. she's dreamy and i like that. she looks soft.
  • light heart. i always thought she and dainty dove were like, cousins, since they look a like a bit. she reminds me a bit of G3 sunny daze, a pony i own and that i like too! i like how her hooves look in several releases.
  • sundance. she's bright and cool, i like her!
  • ivy. i really love her colour scheme since she has THREE of my favourite colours. isn't that nice?
  • prince firefly. oh my god, his colour scheme is so gorgeous. i think he's one of the best G2 ponies out there!
  • night glow. she's simple but nice.
  • queen sunsparkle. she's very unique to the G2 line, too!
  • eve. i like dolphins and her mane. she's neat overall.
  • spring. is she minty's long lost cousin!? maybe her mom? who knows, but i like her!

G3:
Spoiler
  • thistle whistle. my favourite pony ever and one of my first ponies. loved her personality on the specials and her scent is just so nostalgic to me. because of that, i really like coconut-scented cosmetics!
  • precious gem. i've always loved her, and i own her too. her design is beautiful and i think she really stands out.
  • sunny daze. she looks so cheerful! i love her mane. it's just so, brushable. and her cutie mark is pretty cute!
  • crystal crown. i'd love to own her. i like wishing wells. she also looks very fabulous!
  • core 7 toola roola. i've always been pretty sad about her because she didn't have many releases compared to the rest of the core 7, and as a child, she was the pony i most identified with since i like to draw. i don't own her, would like to have her.
  • cheerilee (unicorn). i own her, i like her, i liked her personality on the runaway rainbow! i would have liked more if she were a regular release and not a styling pony, but, oh well, i still love her!
  • marshmellow coco. her tiny hat is so cute and i love her cutie mark. would like to own her
  • chocolate delight. love her brown eyes. would love to have her. too cute for a discount pony!
  • tangerine sunset. one of my first ponies. her scent is SO strong! mine still smells even if she's in a played condition. love her colour scheme and her concept.
  • round n' round. in love with her colour scheme, would love to own her. she's just fabulous!

G4:
Spoiler
  • twlight sparkle. not my favourite pony on the show, but her toys always looked very cute. like her. i own her, too!
  • ploomette. i only have her second version. i like her design. she looks shy but down-to-earth.
  • dewdrop dazzle. so stunning. love her!
  • feathermay. the only thing i don't like about her is her discolouration. but i like her design and concept. her little parrot is so cute! her parrot and her design reminds me of a macaw, and i really like macaws.
  • potion nova. does she count? i like her design, but i'm not a big fan of G4.5 toys... i like her chaotic personality on pony life though!
  • rainbow dash. my favourite character on the show. her toy versions always seem so cute.
  • cherry pie. i've always liked ponies related to desserts and such. she's simple, but i appreciate that.
  • honeybuzz. i absolutely LOVE that colour scheme!
  • sunset shimmer. i also like her character on the show. i like her "through the mirror" release.
  • trixie lulamoon. another character i like from the show, but i also enjoy her toy releases!

G5:
i'm not a big fan of this generation... i mostly like the media! the toys, not that much....

Pony Corral / Re: twilight sparkle hair re-styling!
« on: January 14, 2022, 09:56:56 AM »
It certainly looks much more manageable now! Nice work!

I have styled many ponies from this particular wave. :) Did you give her hair a wash? I find that these guys are pretty simple. Usually just a quick wash with conditioner and a combing out will make their mane look much nicer. Their tail...whole other story. I can't exactly remember if it's THIS wave or the NEXT wave where their tails start to absolutely suck. I have had to de-frizz many a G4 tail over my thrifting journies. DerpyDerp910 on Youtube has a good video explaining how to defrizz the hair (my method is much less glamorous. Fried Bath and Bodyworks lotion, anyone?).

I love the tinsel and always keep it, but if you want to de-tinsel, go ahead and do it! "Box Hair" is the term for the (either fun wave or) weirdly positioned hair.

thank you!
yes, i did wash the hair, i did it with an old hair butter (it's like hair conditioner but more creamy), and her hair got a little bit smoother and, lightly softer. just a little bit of that and then, i combed her hair.

thank you for the de-frizzing video! i have LOTS of ponies with frizz, and it's pretty difficult to manage.

Omg!!! Chocolatedelight, that’s so awesome!!!! I looooove that year so much! This just made my day!

i do also like that year, since i got my first ponies from that G3 year in my 4th birthday!

i really like those pictures of the core 7 era; it also reminds me of my childhood, but i didn't had core 7 toys besides a newborn cuties sweetie belle and some pre-core 7 ponies with mlp's 25th anniversary. it really gives me nostalgia... i would have liked more pony releases on the core 7 that AREN'T them, like, maybe more minty and some of the ponies on the best friends line? (strawberry swirl, royal bouquet).... or maybe new characters?

a very cute pony. i really like her italian nirvana variant with a brown coat!

i don't own her, but i would like her, as her original release or retro.

Pony Corral / twilight sparkle hair re-styling!
« on: January 13, 2022, 12:26:42 PM »
not sure if this goes there, but i tried to re-style my twilight's sparkle hair.
i've had her from long time ago; a cousin gave me a crystal empire twilight sparkle that came with ploomette II. twilight and ploomette are one of the few G4s i have, along with a mcdonald's latin america light-up pinkie pie.

she always had this... how to say it? factory... box? factory boxed hair, which is HORRIBLE. she has a factory error too, a small crack on her head, which is common on G4s. the cherry on top is that most of her tinsel had small folds, so it was a pain on the neck to make her look actually decent.

so, i decided to remove most of her tinsel and re-style her! her hair is still kinda tangled, but she looks better than before at least.

i'll accept any tip!

her tinsel is still a little bit crazy though...

next time i'll re-style my ploomette! (which has a pretty bad case of tangled hair, on top of that, she has a little bit of frizz)

Customs / Re: removing heads from mcdonald's ponies
« on: January 12, 2022, 06:34:03 PM »
I never tried that but I was thinking about it today. Because I've checked the g2 Sweet Berry that I have and she does have cut hair so I though if I could reuse her somehow. This one does have a screw in the back but I'm unsure if that would allow you to open the head.
I'm unsure which one you have but since most McDonald's toys are made of hard plastic so maybe threating it as a Barbie horse or a Dream Beauty would work http://www.mlppreservationproject.com/misc#DreamBeauties https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYElWcNtcMo
If it's more soft maybe just putting it in hot water and removing it like a normal pony head would work. Now that I've looked at some photos of g3 McDonald's ponies it looks like it could work but since I only own the hard plastic ones I'm not 100%sure.

thank you! i've never heard of that hard plastic method before!

These are cute, thanks for sharing! Your MS Paint work is excellent, I love the painterly style :accomplished:

thanks!

i also make drawings outside ms paint, since i use the drawing program paint tool sai for more elaborated drawings.
i'll post more pony drawings too if i make some more.

i'll leave this (kinda) outdated reference of one of my ponysonas, fun n' games:
