Your recolors are really fun, but make sure you are asking the artists permission to edit and redistribute their work, and if the work isn't 100% yours make sure to credit the original artist

Actually, I saw a few Arial ponies on line and tried to copy it the best I could at the time.
You may or may not notice that I couldn't quite get the tail or hair exactly the same, but very darn close.
Semi photographic memory is what got me through college. Dyslexia didn't help though.
Heaven's little trade off.

At the time, over a year ago, I did give these two artists the credit for inspiring me.

Exactly copying another artist's work, enough that the two pieces are all but indistiguishable, isn't really on either though. At least vary the pose up if you want to do a variation on a theme. :/

I think mine came out a little thinner too, but that might be just my opinion.

I noticed a member of the MLPTP site using a normal Arial on a pony site which I though was wrong. Then I remember that
there use to be seahorse MLP. So I looked up MLP seaponies and came across these two along the way.
The pose is what caught my attention in the first place, and I only made it as a gift.
She never even asked for it, but she was so happy to get it, it made her day.

It makes no difference now anyway. I couldn't make another if I wanted to.
My right eye is gone and my left is half gone now from diabetic retinopathy.
It gave me massive floaters and blind spots in both eyes.
My graphic novel will remain unfinished and I can't paint at my previous level anymore.

I can still sculpt though. I'm sense of touch is still good.

Exactly.  Just because you are making it your own, if you are using ANYTHING as a base, you should be a) crediting the original artist and b) not claiming it as your own, even if you're recoloring it or changing and/or things to it.  By omitting the credit, as you have done here, you are essentially saying that this is your art, which it clearly is not. 

I did a quick comparison between your Ariel and the seapony that NoD sourced, and it's really, really obvious that you recolored it, flipped it, and used basic Photoshop to change it.

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be harsh, but this isn't really truthful. I think it's fairly clear that you did not simply use that original as inspiration, or even copy if from memory. You took the original image and recolored it and slightly altered the hair and tail.

Here's a photoshop overlay. The original Ariel pony is in the background and I desaturated it to greyscale. The color overlay is yours. The body, head, top of the tail, and roots of the hair are exact, pixel for pixel.

I find it disheartening that you are lying to members of this community and claiming that you drew these ponies yourself. And that even when faced with the original images, you don't think it's wrong to directly copy an image and claim it as your own. The original artists deserve not only credit, but respect. To take their work and alter it without permission and without credit is disrespectful, and to pass the new work off as your own creation is dishonest. We all make mistakes, but when people point out that what you've done is not right, the proper thing to do is admit fault and learn from the experience.  I hope you will take the time to learn a little bit about why art theft of this sort is wrong and that in the future you will do things differently.

If that's true, that really sucks. Yet you're still actively lifting artwork created by others and claiming it as your own, so your eyes still have some mileage don't they? One thing I've always hated about watching art thieves get called out online is watching them try to turn the whole thing into a great big pity party.

Everyone's got problems, so don't be surprised when no one cues up with Gloomy Sunday on a one inch violin for you when you try using your misfortunes as a distractor. You're stealing, and if you don't put credits below your obviously traced & very mildly altered artwork then people will continue to call you out like this. It almost seems like you're in some sort of denial that you're tracing them? :
