I was looking on eBay when I thought "What is wrong with that Starshine's EYES, they're so tiny!" Well, I am pretty sure she is a 25th anniversary pony, from the set Hasbro released in 2007 or 2008.

Although it's hard to read her feet, I did determine they say "2007" after fiddling around with the contrast. I really hope the buyer didn't buy her thinking she was vintage, as the seller (probably out of ignorance) didn't mention that she's from the 2000s.
What a shame this set wasn't as widespread as the 25th anniversary Collector ponies, she looks very pretty.
Although, is it just me or is there something weird going on with her front right leg? It's almost like the mold they were using got bent by accident before they started casting.
-
Oh how odd. I just looked at mine and they(Starshine and Skydancer) have the strange bend-o legs too. I wonder what caused that. Never noticed it before since mine are still in their boxes and it's their non display side legs
-
I can see 2007 on her hoof as well I think. I have only ever seen the Rainbows in MIP sets but only at Ponycon or in photos. I never saw them here :(
-
Yeah that's definitely 2007 on her hoof.
I didn't like their eyes when they came out. They weird me out.
-
How rare are they? I was in middle school when the 25s came out. I got both trios of CP ponies and didn't have the means to get the rest, even though I liked the rainbow ponies better.
-
Not sure how rare they are. They definitely did not show up in as many stores as the Collectors ponies. In fact, I never saw the Rainbows in stores at all.

I'd like to know too. I know a member here on the Arena found the set for me.. I've opened them all since as the box was so big, but I have them with their brushes and stickers (if anyone would like pics).

i was watching this one too  i knew there was something of about her when i saw how bright pink her hair was and how bright white her body was and her tiny eyes
oh my goodness me, someone bought her, yeah i hope too the buyer knows what they are getting. i saw an auction here in NZ when something was selling one of the 2007 collector pose ponies and calling it vintage.
as for the rainbows, i can't ever remember seeing them in stores here just the collector ponies and iv never seen them for auction or in the wild at markets etc.

I didn't realize the rainbow ones were harder to find during that time. I think I have a full set of both the Collector Ponies and rainbows but the quality never impressed me. Why I am so happy for the 35th anniversary set.
-
I kinda want to get the new rainbow ponies, unbox them, and put my old rainbow ponies in their boxes on display.
-
I saw her too; maybe someone on here bought her and can let us know if they did it on purpose?
-
I remember the rainbow ones came to TRU- my sister bought a set.
I didn't because they seemed pricey (my budge was limited and I had the originals)
Now I wish I'd bought them of course, ah well!
-
I just sold my set of 25th anniversary rainbow ponies a few days ago! I bought them from another collector on here since I was never able to find them in the stores. They were alright but I do like the 35th anniversary ponies that are out much better. They don't look so 'off.'
-
I loved them when they first came out, but I just did not like there quality. I ended up selling both sets a long time ago!
-
Hmm if I had to guess, I think the buyer probably saw a beautiful white Starshine with no flaws and pounced on it without noticing the eyes. I couldn’t read the hoof stamps on my iPad. I don’t think the 25th anniversary one would sell for nearly that much?
-
i always thought they would be about the $5 mark unless like me, im really wanting the skydancer one so will pay a little more, so maybe a starshine obsessed fan bought her ;)
