Title: Paypal claim (non pony)
Post by: lovebeam on June 04, 2017, 03:48:23 PM
I sold something in Ebay and the buyer initiated a paypal claim for item not as described and shipping cost. Only I hadn't sent the item yet. Paypal  is saying they would have buyer send item back to me to get a refund. They don't have the item so anyone know what paypal would do in this situation?

I would just cancel the transaction and refund them completely through paypal.  Obviously, something is up with that person that they would open a case on an item they don't even have unless they bought two from two separate sellers and got confused or something. You could try writing them and asking them why they opened a case on an item they didn't have yet.  Are you slow to ship it?  This is so weird. I guess I will never be surprised at ehat can come up with buyers these days.  Maybe they changed their mind and don't want the item after all.  This is a new one.

Call paypal and get it sorted. Obviously you will be expected to refund the money in full, but not pay for return shipping. And HOPEFULLY paypal will do something about them abusing the INAD claim system.

I really hate it when buyers don't communicate. Sounds like they changed their mind and didn't know how to ask for a refund. (Ebay only gives a 24 hour window for buyers to cancel).

Since you haven't sent the item I'd just refund it all and block the buyer.
