What are your Collection Goals or Resolutions for 2024?

we're at the very end of 2023, and with inspiration from Carrehz' 2023 recap thread, I want to ask you all:
What are your collecting goals for 2024?

Do you have a wishlist going into the new year? Are you upgrading your shelves? Focusing more on a specific generation - or are you downsizing?

I want to hear your thoughts going into the new year!



Personally, I'm planning to *pony more*.
Engage more in my collecting, picking customizing back up, going through and doing spa tretaments for a lot of my ponies...

I want to finally make a binder, where I can keep a physical wantlist, art I've received (like all my ATCs!) over the years, pony pamphlets and instructions, etc. A bunch of my IRL pony friends have made binders like these, and I love the idea!

I'll make sure to put aside a little pony budget for myself in 2024. I haven't bought myself ponies (other than the odd 2nd hand find) in years.

Meeting up with my pony friends more, and maybe even attend the swedish Ponyfest for the first time.

Finally, making a proper wishlist including more than g1. I have a draft in my notes, but I'm making that physical list ^^

Specific ponies I'd like to pick up... the rest of the Celestials (I only have Nova right now) and the Rescue at Midnight Castle set for sure. Would love to get the two Zuru Mini Brands ponies I'm missing (Applejack and Pinkie), if only I could find them for a good price... and I'm WAY behind on HQG1C!!! There's sooo many I want to get!

Past that it'd be nice to finish off my G4 blind bag collection (fell way behind with those, too, when they stopped being sold over here), but idk if that'll happen, lol.

I'd really like to finish setting up my shelves and such and get everything out of storage, but a lot of that's kind of out of my hands, so... we'll see.

I'm not really sure. This year I completed my goal of getting all the original twice as fancy ponies so I don't really know what I want to do now. I do have specific ponies I want such as tabby cherry treats and caramel crunch. It would also be really cool to get my grail munchy but I don't think thats going to happen unless I get lucky because I don't have the kind of money to be able to drop 100 dollars on a single pony.

Well, I'm trying to sell the rest of my collection except for a few favorites and my AJ and Raincurl armies.

I would like to start looking for Rainbow Curl merch. I know there is a lunchbox and thermos, there are sheets, a puzzle that leaves Raincurl out for some reason, pins made by someone? I'm not sure what else. I think I am going forward with quality over quantity. As far as Applejack stuff, I'd really like the human statue (I forget what they're called) and the Popmart figures and really any AJ stuff other than the brushable ponies. I think I am missing one or two of those.

I'd also like to commission and collect more Raincurl artwork.

A sticker book/binder just for my pony stuff/pamphlets/backcards is a great idea, thank you for the inspo, Shaiyeh!

Other than finishing new custom ponies, I think getting a few more ponies I've always wanted--like TAF Buttons, maybe a few more Big Brothers, and finishing some sets like the 90s baby ponies--are good goals. However, I'm looking to save up for my dream vacation next year so I am going to prioritize that over new ponies right now.

I might start selling more of the new customs I've made/am planning to make in 2024.

I don't have any big goals for this year. I mainly want to get set completers. Maybe add to my g2 and g3 collections. I also have some duplicates i need to sell. it kind of depends on how my financial situation shakes out next year.

1/ keep up with HQG1C
2/ finish the Customs I've started on
3/ add the three latest Basic Fun Plushies to my collection when they come out (so looking forward to Applejack, Twilight, & Medley as plushies)
4/ continue &/or complete my G1 comics collection (there are a few gaps I consider priority to fill but will also seek others past the latest I have)
5/ add at least one more Butterscotch to the collection
6/ Failing 5, or maybe not, add at least one unique Nirvana to the collection
7/ FINALLY acquire Beach Belle, Caribbean Delight, & their clothes
8/ add either the Slide twins, Study & Play, or Nosy & Click, to my G2 collection
9/ get retro blind box Spike
10/ if any spare loot left, get hold of Twilight Sparkle variants I don't have yet.

I don't expect to get ALL of these, but some would be great.

I don't have any. I really should clean up all the thriftstore and fleemarket finds instead of just keeping them in that drawer and bucket but somehow, year after year that collection grow and I don't do anything with them.

I think my only collection goal for this year is to get my collection again on display and hopefully to some shelf situation that is more my style. Most likely I will downsize it too. But not sure, now I'm basically in-between flats and moving so my little pony babies are in boxes waiting to find a new place.

If my economical situation gets better I would love to get few new ponies too, its been a while (years) since my last pony purchase. Definitely would get some nirvana pony and more MLP friends. But havent really thought in detail because getting new ponies hasn't been priority or even possible lately.

I will be keeping an eye out on the Kotobukiya MLP line to see if they do a LE Princess Luna; they did one for the Mane 6, but since the default Luna already has clear glittery parts in her mane, I'm not sure if they'll do one like the Mane 6 specials (unless they do one in Nightmare Moon colours??). I also want to see if they'll do a Princess Cadance; if they do I will NEED her!
