A friend I haven't heard from for a while texted me and apologized for being out of touch for so long. :)

What great gifts! I didn't know you liked owls so much :) Happy birthday!

Thanks!  Yes, I have a small owl collection in addition to ponies. Owls in different forms, such as small statues, pillow covers, candle, stickers, cutting board, plushies, jewelry... :)

Smiled because I fulfilled a bucket list item -

last week I flew from London to Denver, alone, to meet up with friends and spend time on a guitar performance course, culminating in a show on the penultimate day.

I got to experience as much American culture as I could cram in - including:
a trip up the mountain to visit the Red Rocks music venue, pancake breakfast at a diner, taco Tuesday, and a couple of fun things too: experiencing a Walmart and a Goodwill thrift store!!  (Yes, I checked for ponies, none found, but I saw some cool crafted wooden fish ornaments that my friend bought!)

So much fun. Had a video livestream with the gang tonight, it feels like I never left!!

@glitterball i think you had the American culture experience. did you also have a meal at an overhyped chain restaurant like Panera or Chipotle? Denver is such a pretty city.

today i got quite a bit of work done in spite of having a ton of calls and time spent addressing people's complaints.

Hehe, we went to a "Tony Roma's" for ribs and I wanted to try a "Popeye's" chicken (but didn't have time) the rest of the time there was food (pizza/tacos) provided by our hosts  :)

I was surprised at the cost of things downtown, 16th Street area, very similar to London tourist prices. 12 dollars for a glass of red wine - hmmm, wasn't expecting that!
I was pleased to find a Walmart out of town and not have to spend nearly 4 dollars on a small bottle of water!!  my friends from Minnesota had hired a car so we spent some time driving around looking for fun things to do

I can't wait to go again, it was such a blast!! Gotta start saving those pennies  ;)

It sucks without internet for my PC and TVs but I’m getting so much done. My living room is actually starting to look like someone lives here  and my bedroom is so big without the boxes everywhere.

So I am a high school student, and in my second period class, I have Foods/Wellness. Basically we cook and bake stuff. The group im in is with 3 other freshmen. We all make fun of eachother in a fun way, call eachother pretty harsh names to mess with eachother. Today, Noah had his shoe put in the trash, then he put Loalas backpack in the trash. Then, we laughed soooo hard after that. Sooooo.... high school is pretty intense for me.

Today I finally had the keys to the downstairs door and to the dumpster enclosure duplicated, which means I no longer have to use the keypad to enter and can now throw away my trash whenever I want!

This was last night but - Domino’s is open! :hearts: I got my favorite pizza and something to drink that isn’t water. It was nice having some dark soda even if it wasn’t Dr. Pepper. The pizza was perfect too. I told the delivery driver that I was so happy they reopened so soon.

I remember my friend and I had a full on push each other off the stool contest in art class once, and the teacher didn't even notice.

I hated school, but there were some moments that are fond memories. I stuck a green ink cartridge to the biology class wall when I was in year 10 (age 14-15), just to see whether they ever cleaned the science lab. It was still there when my sister was at the school (she's almost 6 years younger than me). It became a tourist attraction. It was probably still there when they relocated and knocked down the old campus a couple of years ago.

So things that made me happy today - seeing the cute little baby plants in their halloween themed pots in M&S. I resisted, though.
