Title: Baby Swap 2013 Brag Thread!

My box of baby awesomeness arrived today from Archidraca, along with a lovely card that didn't make it in the box ;) The card let me know some of the ponies were from Archi's childhood collection, which is so cool! And to look for a special surprise in the box :biggrin:

I opened the box and was overwhelmed! So many packages and they were all numbered :lol: I started with #s 1-5

#s 1-5 - Sparkle Babies!!! :squee: They are so adorable. Plus a really awesome Ty Teenie Beanie, MOC and everything!

#s 6-10 - Some really cool extras and Baby Cuddles! The little owls are on clothespins and the tags are beautiful! An awesome block of sticky notes, colored pencils and Baby Cuddles came with her bib :D Plus Britannia Teenie Beanie :)

#s 11-16 - Two more Teenie Beanies and oh my gosh, Rainbow Babies!!! More :squee:! They are so beautiful!

And then the special surprise! A beautiful CM of Galaxy as a baby! You took a creepy Beddy Bye Eye and made her awesome! :biggrin: :hug: She's beautiful and I will treasure her always :D

I spent less on everything than I feared I might due to a lucky Thrift shoppe find and going through some Lots. :biggrin: The drawing I was trying to work on was just looking goofier and goofier so I looked at my bait box and the little BBE said "pick me!" so I did. :P I just wish I was better at making horns.... >_< This one is straight but it's not proportioned like I would want it. -_-

Apparently my hairstyling skillz are getting slightly better. :cool: Also, I re-used those stars... :blush: I still don't know how to make them myself but I'm a packrat and will keep interesting things in the hope that I can share with others. :satisfied: That's baby Tiddlywinks with Cuddles' bib but I hit my budget before buying her... ^^; The theme was supposed to be "completionist" but... ;)

Nope! The two that were childhood ponies went through all the adventures the others did, I was just better about having all my ponies take a bath when they came in than my friends were. :lol:

The extras were fantastic--Sandra managed to find delicious vegan foodstuffs. (Mini Oreos for my car cupholder and three Lara bars.) I never expected to get anything edible! :D Also, I LOVE Hello Kitty and she included a journal and a set of stickers from Sanrio. :) So adorable!

The also sent me a TON of accessories. She could have stopped shopping here and I would have been happy, happy, happy. :lol: There's a crib and crib blanket, two color collar bottles, a bear sippy cup, a mostly-complete stack toy, star panties, a duck pull toy, a BABY necklace, a bear brush, a duck comb and--as if that wasn't enough cuteness--a first tooth pillow WITH the felt tooth. :heart: :heart: :heart: As an accessories-focused collector--this was all kinds of happy! :D

*and THEN* I got to the pony-shaped packages. (Which were actually astonishly square and regimentally box-shaped because Sandra works gift-wrapping magic.)

Baby Blossom! I've spent a long time looking for her in this kinda condition. She's the pony that always gets away so I'm overjoyed to have her. She's such a dear little girl with her nose freckles. :D

~drumroll!~ And then, last but not least, I got UK babies Stella and Schoolbag. I love them, so much! This year I'm having a big UK focus--buying the ones I don't have, hunting them online, and finding even more for my swap partners. It couldn't have been a sweeter swap than to get a couple UK ponies in it. Thank you!

So yeah, I got massively spoiled. Sandra--you're gold class and I consider myself phenomenally lucky to have gotten a swap box of yours. Thank you so much!

I'm so glad you liked your box, songtoisis. :blush: I actually accidentally mixed up the baby Ballerina ponies and bought a Softsteps instead of Sweetsteps. So I found Blossom as a replacement. I sent the "oopsie" pony just as an extra. I didn't know if you already had her, but figured you could sell or trade for a different one if you wanted. :lol: I hope the UK babies made up for the duplicate pony.

Also, thank you about complimenting my handwriting and gift wrapping skills. :hug: It took a lot of wrestling to get those lumpy ponies into little squares. I'm so happy you liked everything! You're so welcome for everything-- I had a lot of fun shopping for you! :hearts:

I'm sorry partner, I fear my box may be one of the last out! I was in an accident today while tooling around for items,, so that got cut a little short :/ I'm Ok and since my car is a bazillion years old I figure it's just a little more character to him. A lady made a right turn in front of me at an intersection where the lights were malfunctioning, so there's some concern over fault since we didn't call the cops...went straight to the reporting centre instead *grumble* shoulda called the cops. Stupid stupid stupid. Anyway, hopefully it's clear to the insurance that she was in the wrong, but if not it'll be a 50/50 with SUX. Blah. Note to self...ALWAYS call the cops...lol!
Then I went to the pharmacy and proceeded to lock my poor Pischer dog in the car...had to call the BF to rescue us! Needless to say it's been a day of petty annoyances. But at least i got the wrapping paper before all this happened :lol:

She was all like "oh, hello! How did you get there?" And wagging her tail and everything! Lol I love my dog!
When she was locked in the car she was in there with an ENTIRE box of donuts and didn't steal one! Not like my schnauzer, Schmutz...he'd have eaten the whole box right in front of me while I watched helplessly through the glass :lol:

Thankfully I've only had to use that order once and only have been in a couple of low-speed (under 5mph) accidents in my driving career. :P I know if I'd've had sweets in the car with my dog (or my cat) they would be devoured or mangled by the time I got to them. Very good doggie there. :biggrin:

Omigosh the baby Brigade is amazing and that Wonder Woman notebook is *gorgeous* and the ponies are so cute and the extras are so sweet and I love the stickers and I love wee little origami stars and these are so tiny! The little block things are cool and oh my gosh the Brigade stuff.

Also, my mom saw the peppermint patties and went 'so they DO know who you are.'

My love of them is a little mocked around here, but I don't care.

Such a beautiful wrapping job! And I love the mug. It has one of my favourite quotes about Wonder Woman on it, and generally just in loe with all the WW in this!

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST THAT BOOKMARK. With the little clip from the movie! Oh gosh. That's really great! I hope I managed to get a good picture to show it off.

Okay so I’ve finally gotten to the best part! The ponies!!! These are all in such lovely, lovely condition. I couldn’t believe I got THREE UK exclusives! :faint: Baby Explorer, Baby Count-a-lot, and Baby Boy Apple Delight! Of course, his sister decided to come along as well! And Baby Paws, complete with bandana! One of the Apple Delight twins was wearing a lock, while the other was wearing a key. It took me a while to figure it out (:blush:), but I the lock to find some MLP tattoos inside! Cyberunicorn also sent me some lovely baby necklaces to top it off. :heart:

Wow! That was quite the exciting box of baby wonderfulness! I must admit that my box came without a card, so I'm not 100% sure who to thank for taking the time to put my box together. Although based on a comment in the baby thread and the fact that my Baby Glory is without her tail, I'm pretty sure who I have to thank... ChipsteRJ (if I'm wrong, please let me know).

Thank you so much dear partner for putting so much effort and thought into my box, these babies will be treasured always, my husband has already put up a new shelf and set the ponies up in their new room in the pony room :)

Yeah, sadly it's not available here :huh: I have to rely on uber fantastic swap partners and arena buddies to get that stuff, it's been my favourite for as long as I can remember Susnshine :) It's neat that we both like it ^.^

I'm glad that you had an extra tail for her and I can't wait to see the new life you give to Glory's German sister. You will have to come back here and show them off! It would be cool to give the German one the same color hair as her mother!

Maybe it is an East Coast thing???? I snack on pepperoni nearly daily. It is fast, cheap protein, plus smaller stays fresher longer and you don't have to store unopen bags in the fridge! All over winner in my book!

They came in a pack of 20 for Halloween!

On to the good stuff, though your package is AMAZING and i love the little Rainbow Brite doll! My best friend had a big one just likethat when I was a kid, so seeing her brought back good memories :)

I made a special spot next to my door for the maillady to put packages so when I drive up after Saturday errands and look over I got super excited to see that it was being used for it's intended purpose. :squee:

I'm in the middle of changing around the contents of a number of rooms in my house and cleaning everything. So right now the Eldest's room is the cleanest so I appropriated her new bed for my staging. :biggrin: This is helped by the fact that she's at her mother's for a sleepover tonight but it means I have to wait to see what the last of the box is. :P

On to the brag!

The box had that green tag on it with the pretty swirlies that I'm in the process of attempting to detach in my "free time" tonight. Look at my RL photo editing skillz! :P I read the note and I almost cried. So much so that I took the time to do a little more cleaning before arranging everything in the order to open them.

Opened the pet presents next. The kitties are giving mixed reviews (one is "kinda like" the other is "loooooooooooove!" so pretty much a success there. I think the 2nd kitty is going to end up appropriating both of the toys. :P The doggy is busy taking a nap but the toy has been taken to her bed for safekeeping.

hah sunshine I did not think you sounded cranky in your post. the little book is a story book full of amazing pics and one intend to read very soon.

Shell: I don't think you could fit any more in that box if you tried it was perfect the way it came. I fully intend to keep the art and the one of the box they were that good. I have an album where they all live to keep safe

My package is from the amazing Songtoisis! I knew when I saw the macaroons and the day of the dead candy hehe, it was just so perfect and totally me! She got me sooo many really really nice things, I was blown away!

Okay, this was awesome - and this is what happens when you have an artist and graphic designer as your swap partner, I got this wonderful "puzzle" of "some assembly required" which was so fun and I have no photos me assembling it, but when I was done, I had like a "wedding cake" of amazingly decorated Pony-Baby goodness! I mean, there is so much creativity in everything on these packages! The baby bottles, diapers, cards and cutouts from the MLP Game (G3) stickers, and all the hand-decorating paper work.. and the most awesome part - Nursery Blocks that spell out SUNSHINE! You know, I was at the flea market this past weekend and was SO TEMPTED to buy some nursery blocks - it's funny that I left them behind because you sent some! :heart: Just take a small second to look at this amazing creation:

Some beautiful vintage little deer ornaments (I know these are OLD! The style with the eyelashes, I have a few other pieces that look similar and I LOVE that style) - these two are so adorable! :hearts: ANNNND Rhini was the person who got me hooked on "Cactus" animals from TokiDoki - she spoiled me with Bastardo the dog and I picked up one of the kitties from her at our St. Louis Pony Meet - and now I have two of the Mini's!! I LOVE THESE MINIS! I had no idea how small they were, but they ROCK! Each one comes with a tiny little accessory too! :heart: I am so collecting these guys now! :thumb:

Believe it or not, I was actually on the low side of the cost limit...I think I spent more on extras than the ponies! All of them are from my own collection save for baby Stripes, who i traded for! And baby Lickety, that's her origional color...I have NO clue how to re-pink hair! :lol:

Oh!! I found baby Quackers and Starshine at the Value Village today :) no cancer or spots at all, though their tails were pretty frazzled. That is the second baby Quackers i've found this year!

I just saw your post, shiney... It's like rhini just craawled into your brain and rooted around in there for the best gifties ever!! I can't wait to see how youre-hair those cuties :clap:

It all BARELY fit into that giant box, and I had originally meant to ship it Sat morning then my brakes went out Friday night and then the stupid holiday was Monday and so yesterday was the soonest I could ship >_< This swap was fraught with difficulties, I could barely find any of the babies and then two I had to buy twice because they looked better in the photos, then I lost my job midway through and couldn't afford everything I wanted :( and auuggh! So I'm sooo relieved you're happy with what I was able to do. I wanted to go for a baby-sea esque theme and I think it worked out!

The boxes are based on a diaper cake! :P I know I can't wrap for poop so I made the outside look nice instead. I got lucky and over the weeks I found so many just perfect things for you and for the swap! Mr. Shark and all the little sea animals, the perfect frame and the toki doki cats. It was so much fun every time I found something else to put in there ^.^ It just made me smile all silly knowing how much you'd like it.

AND LOL DAT SHIRT! I had the same reaction, it was actually the first thing I bought and I just stood in the middle of hot topic laughing like a crazy person because it was like the funniest thing I'd ever seen :lmao:

I'm soooo glad you like seapony Sunshine and your artwork :heart: I knew I was low on babies so I wanted to include some really special and personal touches to even it out. Her head was a donor but her body is 100% sculpted this time! I also found that little bag and thought it was like the most perfect bag ever for customs supplies, you can even hold ponies in it! :lol: I was a little disappointed at the random colors I got from Tina, but I know you'll find something amazing to do with them :blush: I gave you one each of the repro wings and two of each pair of customs! ^.^ I can't wait to see them on their new owners!

I am just sooo happy that YOU are happy, that first box you sent me was so kind and thoughtful, I tried my very hardest to repay you at least threefold :hug: You're such a joy to have around here and such a wonderful freind in real life, I'm so lucky to know you! :kitty: :heart: :heart: :heart:

I was beyond taken back when I opened all the wings - I have some flutter rehairs that I've done previously (because I cut them to fit flutters too, I love look of butterfly wings on Flutters!) and now I get to give them wings - it's just awesome... so, seriously PM Rhini and get some wings from her, because you WILL NOT be disappointed!! :biggrin:

I agree. This has been a blast. I'm glad I decided to participate in this one as my first swap. Now I'm afraid about whether other swaps will live up to the fun it had been.

So, first I opened Baby Snippy, or Scrapbook Pony, as I like to call her. She was the baby I was wanting the most, so she was kinda my grail for this.

So, I want to thank my great and powerful partner, but I'm not completely sure who had me. There wasn't anything to let me know. I had actually put together a spreadsheet at work yesterday (don't judge) and figured out who's boxes had not been received. However, I didn't save it. And this is especially special, because my birthday was yesterday. So, I really didn't mind stretching it out a bit more.

I really love everything, and feel so lucky to be the recipient of such a wonderful gift. I honestly can't wait to go play spa day with my new babies.

Well, thank you So So much! I love everything. I forgot to mention how excited I was to see Spike sitting with the brushes. I've been really wanting him. He's super duper cute! Sunshine - I'm the same way, for some reason I seem to sleep better in the day and even if I don't nap during the day I usually find myself waking up in the dead of night and it's sooo hard to get back to sleep. When I finally do and then wake up in the morning I feel so tired all day. Ugh it really sucks so I totally feel your pain!

Yes I agree I think they made too many dog tags. Since we haven't had new ponies in SO LONG I usually buy I package of dog tags or cards as a pony treat once in awhile. I don't think I want to collect them all though. I agree - I'd rather have the actual ponies XD but they are a fun extra which I like :)

I'm not sure why, but lately packages have been redirected to a P.O. rather than my house. If my mom hadn't gotten a call from a friend who goes to that P.O. I'm pretty sure the box would have been returned :/ It's really weird, though, since that's the address I had to have when I got my ID a couple years ago...

Post by: summerday on November 20, 2013, 09:40:05 AM: I'm glad you liked it. Sorry about the delay. The box was scheduled for delivery on the 8th. The tracking just said undeliverable as addressed, so I was pretty worried. Needless to say, I'm very relieved.

I had such a great time shopping. We're Monster High fans at my house, so that was a no brainer. And I started the swap with the most amazing deal on a baby lot. That allowed me to load you up. And there were a few I really liked myself. But, I practiced restraint.

Seeing as you said you didn't mind condition too much with nirvanas and said you didn't own any Argies, I had to get her for you. She is still cute even with her flaws. And baby SC is the most mint one of her I have ever seen.
