Toy Box & Games Cupboard / Re: Toy ID
« on: April 23, 2018, 10:04:27 AM »
Wow, I now have lots of interesting things to look up about!

Nonnavlis, I'm going to have to look up about Takara's Furry Families. Even if they're not what I'm looking for, they sound adorable!

Duenia, that page is going in my favourites! I had several of those toys when I was little, and even though I don't see anything reminiscent of my bunnies, I'm definitely keeping hold of it for future toy ID purposes!

Seems like my little froggy is LPS then. I didn't realise they made figures without paw-prints; I've learnt something new!

Enjoy some Furry Family spam lol, I love them! I don't have photos of the Japanese variants, but they have more earth tones.

I'm pretty sure its from this set. These guys didn't have the pawprints and it looks like one of the ones on the floats- but who knows :D

Still searching for info on these! Anyone?

This tiny tiny frog! I found it in a box of childhood toys but have no recollection of where it came from. It's not Littlest Pet Shop and doesn't seem to be anything to do with Puppy In My Pocket. Pictured with Disney Little Kingdom Tiana for scale, and also because they make a cute couple :)

Finally, I've had these rabbits since I was about three (that would be around 1996), I remember they came in a set with a hutch to live in but I don't remember what the playset was called or which toy-line it belonged to. It's a long shot, because I think they were cheap pound-shop type toys, but I thought someone might recognise them.

I think someone may have cut that frog off her lilypad: http://vintagelpscollector.com/Collections/splashtimepets.htm#frogs

Do you have any photos of the bottom of him?

Do you just mean a Takara Pony? I have several, but not sure what kind of background you need.

Pony Corral / Re: Is NBBE Half-Note rare?
« on: April 03, 2018, 11:18:38 AM »
I don't know if they're rare, but they're uncommon. It took awhile for one to pop up on ebay so I could add her to my collection. I felt like I kept missing her being for sale. So maybe she isn't a pony you can just click and buy online on a whim :)

Since this is a prototype it will look more like the castle in terms of quality once its finished! This material also doesn't take paint quite as nice. Send me a dm if you'd like to order one. It can come in Show Stable, Home Sweet Home, or Megan's Place colors

Customs / Re: ✨Rehairing Tool and Information✨
« on: March 26, 2018, 12:21:31 PM »
Hi, all! I'm looking for a bit of help with some things as I'm having a hard time deciding. Customs and restorations are brand new to me, so I'm hoping to expand my knowledge.

First, I have ordered once recently from Dollyhair, and before I searched the internet and found more in-depth reviews. It was a small order, just two skeins (hanks?) of hair, which I really liked. I was able to give my Milky Way a new tail. However, I was not really pleased with the service. I tried to reach out through email and their phone number to see when the order would be shipped; I never received a response. Then I received an automated email about the order being shipped, but my address was printed wrong, and there was no tracking information (it was shipped First Class, and tracking is free, so I don't understand why it wouldn't be included?). I reached out to see if the address could be corrected - no response. My post office figured out what the address was supposed to be, so I got the package fine. But it took 6 days from ordering to be shipped, plus another 3 to get to me. I didn't have a scale at the time, so I'm not even sure if the weights were correct or not.

So, with that being explained, I'm wondering where to look for nylon hair and a decent rehairing tool for G1 ponies.

In addition to the tool, I'm also curious about what needle sizes are good to have for these ponies (adults, babies, newborns, etc.). Is there a way to fashion my own from a pin vise on Amazon and needles from Etsy? Or should I try to get one pre-made specifically for rehairing from a vendor?

I'm also wondering if there's a good alternative to Dollyhair. I like the nylon hair and the variety of choices. I don't know much about other hair types either, that's why I'm trying to stick with nylon. But do other types work just as well or better for restorations?

My Little Customs has been a contender for me, I just haven't ordered yet. I put a few things into the basket to see what the shipping options were, and their cost from the UK to the US without tracking wasn't bad at all. I have read pretty much nothing but good reviews for MLC. I would only ask, one, are the rehairing tool and needles from them suitable for ponies, and two, is the shipping reliable enough to forgo tracking in order to keep the cost down?

I would use Dollyhair again if the quality of the items outweighs the spotty service. But I would prefer not to if I can get the same or better items elsewhere. I've just taken in so much information recently that I don't know how to synthesise it all.

Sorry that this got a little verbose. I wanted to try to cover everything I've been pondering.

Thank you in advance for any information, help, and advice!!

First I've only shopped with Dollyhair and yes they are unorganized, slow, but the orders almost always go get to you lol. I'm happy with their selection and prices so I continue to use them.

For rehairing tools I think I purchased mine via ebay from Doll Planet I think is the name. I also bought an extra set of needles since I broke quite a few when I was first learning. I think all of her needles are labeled for the size you need for ponies.
You can also make your own needles by really just breaking off the top with a pair of sturdy pliers, but I prefer to just buy mine.

I've heard great things about RetroDollsUS for hair and supplies :)

I agree that the seller should not have asked for more money. I was in an etsy situation recently where someone purchased an item from me and I had not added shipping to china. I had to cancel the sale because the shipping would have been twice what the item was worth.

I've only ever asked for more money to ship if it is someone I know well and they wont be offended.

Thank you everyone so much for your kind comments and awesome suggestions! I am going to try and continue adding new items right up to the fair!

Sorry if anyone else has already mentioned this but I can't be the only one who would love a miniature Paradise Estate!  (by miniature, I mean as small as you can go but still keep the detail).

I was thinking of making one, and this may end up being a phase 2 project lol :D

I got a nurse hat today from a friend who ordered one for me, and it looks GREAT!  Just testifying to the quality.  I want a life-sized star pick for my pony room walls!  :D

Aww yay! I'm so glad you like it!! :D

I also have another sneak peek of some proto items that are in production now :D

Oh my goodness the castle necklaces! I've seen your glittery brushes on IG and absolutely love them, and the necklaces omg...! Will it be possible to buy this for us international peeps that aren't going to the fair?
And I agree with Taffeta, the stickers look like they'd make amazing coasters! LOVE it!

Aww thank you!
And yes I will definitely be opening up international orders after pony fair :) I'll probably have most things made to order.

And hmm I might have to look into coaster methods for those
