Pony Corral / Re: So Soft Restoring - Mystery Stains

Others have used the oxygen carpet cleaner and had luck, and still others have tried tying their pony into a pillowcase before putting it in the washing machine on cool-warm water and a gentle cycle. DON'T PUT HER IN THE DRYER!! LOL.

Well darn, I was hoping deflocking was an option for my Twilight, but if the vinyl is stained too, I guess she's of no use and I'll just throw her away.

Oh, don't do that! I'd be happy to give her a home! First, though, you might try some whitening toothpaste and a magic eraser. I've had incredibly good luck using a magic eraser gently on flocking....it gets it super clean and even fluffs it to an almost new look! Plus, you don't have to put conditioner on the pony to keep the flocking soft :) Rub in gentle, small circles. It's time consuming, but worth it.

i don't know if anyone answered your question, but the lipstick on your pony will appear when she has something ice cold put on her lips and disappears when you kiss her (the heat from your lips will make it disappear)

Pony Corral / Re: How to deal with change?
« on: November 09, 2017, 05:23:38 PM »
I fell away from Ponies for a couple of years and only recently came back into it. I'm glad I took a break...sold many of the Ponies I had, many were Nirvana including my beloved Macaus. I don't at all regret it as most of them went to people on this site so they stayed in the community and are making other people happy. The break helped me realise that I didn't need to be rabid about collecting, or acquiring, or getting that "zowie" feeling every time I found a pony in the wild. It's allowed me to be more specific about what I want for my new collection; specific ponies that I didn't know existed when I first began collecting again as an adult. I have knowledge of cleaning and restoration that I didn't have the first time, so I can look at ponies and know which ones just need a little work to look new again and which are just too far gone. So I guess I don't see it at all as a bad thing...I just see it as becoming more of a specialist in the field of Ponyology ;)

Do pony stories count stories about ocs cause me and a friend wrote some aweomse stories about a little orphan filly together. Or do you only want stories of pony finds?

ALL THE PONY STORIES!! If it's Pony and it makes you smile, that's all that's required :D Any gen, any pony, any story, as long as it's a happy one!

Everybody has a "Great Pony Story" or even more than one! Have you ever found an awesome pony in the wild? MOC at the thrift? A pony with special sentimental meaning? I have a few :D
I found a Indian Funskool Butterscotch at the thrift here in Canada when I was in College, but had no idea how special she was. Flash forward 10 years or so and I find her in my collection at my parents' place and I just about plotzed!
Found both Eyelash Princesses MIB at the Value Village for $6.99 a piece.
My Sprinkles is still my absolute favourite pony from childhood. I cherish her because my parents worked so hard to get her and the Waterfall for me. She was my first pony....and boy can you tell! LOL

Pony Corral / Re: Poll: Is Mimic really as rare as we think she is?
« on: November 08, 2017, 08:39:27 PM »
I got Mimic on a BIN for $9.99 Canadian a couple of years ago. She had a little mouse nibble to her hoof and the tip of her horn. I filed down her horn and unless you were super picky and observant you'd never notice anything was wrong! I loved having her when I did, but for me it's all about the hunt and the fact I could say I had "Insert Pony's Name here" once, so I ended up selling her to an Arena member who'd wanted her forever for a pretty cheap price. I had quite a bit of good luck at the thrift with finding other ponies (MO Scribbles and Dabble and the pearly babies) and really felt I should pay it forward. So she does pop up on occasion (as do other rare and "rare" ponies) so keep your chins up! Personally, I find Pale Speedy, Galaxy, Locket and Bright Eyes to be my faves in that series....and I did once have a Party Time with no regrind or discolouration even under black light, so she exists!!

I just got her in a lot I purchased the other week. On one side, she's perfect, but on the other side she has some kind of patterned pink ink transfer! I thought it was sad, because she's still got her vibrant pink forelock and she's epicly adorable, but the transfer has actually grown on me! Now she's just the mischievous one in the Nursery who got caught (forever) in the hoof-paints ;)

Trader & Shipping Support / Re: Badly Packaged Pony = Broken Pony
« on: November 02, 2017, 03:11:47 PM »
If the seller is a jerk and won't refund you any money you may have recourse if you paid for the items with PayPal (if you used their system to pay for them, of course). Hopefully they do the right thing and pay you back as well as never packaging items so badly ever again. I'm sorry you're going through this...hopefully you can repair them to the point where they are as close to new as possible.

What a great bunch of ponies! Does Pillow Talk have her original hair clip or someone else's? How is the regrind situation on Party Time? I still haven't given up hope that there is a perfect one out there   :P

Congratulations! Those TAF babies are so cute!!

Don't bother with Photobucket, they don't let you embed images on other sites with a free account any more. Try a different image hosting site (Imgur, Flickr, etc)

Thank goodness I'm not the only one who is having problems! I will try Imagur, I think...I was beginning to feel very stupid and useless with PB LOL
The babies are coming along nicely but they do need a lot of cleaning. I'm trying to be very careful with everyone's symbols! One thing I'm incredibly pleased about is how incredibly vibrant the "fading pink" babies' hair is! Even Baby Princess Sparkle's hair looks like it just came from the box (though she is super grubby LOL)
