I only have one (G1), Baby Susie (she's in the gallery PKW linked) and I don't know if she is really a prototype because we've never been able to explain her backstory, but I found her on ebay 18 or so years ago and she cost me $21 or thereabouts because nobody else noticed she was in the wrong pose :/
Since then LadyG has one of the others in her set, also in another pose, so we know there are two of them (Billie, also in the gallery).
The biggest questionmark in G1 pony collecting in my opinion are these kinds of ponies.
