Con Badges?

I hope this is the right forum since it is about art, but if it belongs in the forum for the pony convention please move it! <3


Well....it has been a long...time since I've posted here.    Ever since the Arena moved I have hardly been on and I feel horrible about it, not that anyone really knows me anyway. lol
But to what this is about, I was wondering if anyone has ever made their own badge for the pony convention? I would love to know what people normally do! My SO and I will be going this summer and I was hoping to make us one I was thinking maybe just using our personas but I'm stuck on what exactly they're supposed to look like. Any examples would be awesome! And if anyone is interested I could show their process when I actually start making them? Hehe    I hope to hear from some of you knowledgeable pony peeps! This will be my first convention ;D

I've never been to a pony con, but I've been doing badges at furry cons for many years - for myself and for pay.

Here are some examples of what I've done in the past... (they're clicky.)

Generally, people like rectangular sizes, around 2 1/2x3 1/2 inches.  I also sometimes do cut-to-shape ones (those are really popular nowadays as well.)  Whatever size you go with, just make sure you get a great scene into that small space.  Focus on a few great colors and a fun, expressive theme.  Also, practice lettering and fonts!

Welcome back, NomNom!    I was wondering where you'd disappeared to.

I haven't been to a con, but it seems like lots of people take badges to identify themselves.  I'm so jealous that you're going!

Awww thanks Zenna!  Hopefully you can go to a pony convention soon! This will be my first time so here's hoping it's a good time, although I'm sure it will be :3
