BrightIdea -- it's not, because if something is not white balanced, then the photo could be warm or cool, depending on the light, the camera, and etc. And really it skews any realistic accuracy. If it was done correctly, then it would be an awesome test.

A more appropriate test would be to take a picture of known pink and known purple ponies with cupcake, and get the values on them--- and compare how much more blue in Cupcake there is--- if a white balanced picture could not be found.

I dunno, I guess I just color correct stuff for a living atm, so I find it not accurate to take a random picture to determine color.

Awesome test ashes...however I did not do too well scoring 11! Oops...shows perhaps how uncolour co-ordinated I can be :P

11 is actually pretty good!  0 is the best score.  ;)

Hence my picture having all the pink to purple ponies I had on hand. :)

And no, the picture isn't white balanced. I don't even know how to do that after the fact, and this is from a crappy cell phone camera.

My vote by the way:
I think she is "Light Magenta" (vs. Cheerilee's "Dark Magenta"), and Magenta is a type of Purple.

I think the "does it have any blue" rule holds, so she is purple.

I took that test awhile ago and I got a 0! Gonna take it again.

Edit: Yep, got a 0 again. I can see colors perfectly. :)

So yeah, I still think Cupcake is just the slightest bit of purple because of the blue I can detect in her hue.

I thought Magenta was a type of pink. XD

Magenta is pink and purple, right? So doesn't that make her both. >u>

Pure Magenta is Red and Blue in equal amounts (at least on computers, not sure on printer's Magenta).

I know I'm able to get magenta by running my pink over my purple markers. Or a color very close to it.

You color stuff for a living? That's pretty cool!  You must be a color expert then  :)

Closest I get at work to anything artistic is making the odd graph, and random little pics with paint sometimes :P
