my mum visited latley for my son's 4th birthday. she had gone over to poland over the christmas to visit my brother and his wife and picked up this for me. she honestly thought it was real my little pony and was soooo proud of herself and so excited  to show me, awwwww

its such a massive box that by the sounds of things was quite expensive and would of taken up alot of her lauggage space    i felt so bad as i dont collect fakies like these, what should i do    and im trying to down size my own collection.

i know some people really love the shs fakies... maybe someone would buy them?  I have had that happen too... many times.  I have trained most my family now, but my grandmas still dont understand.  :<

I would say customize them!

I would say take out a few to sell, the key ones I think would sell well are:

Purple with Purple Hair SHS (Yellow flower symbol)
Pink with Pink Hair SHS (Three flower symbol)
Two mini SHS Blue with blue hair, Pink with Purple hair.
The two G3.5 "Giant Head" fakies
And possibly the purple with pink hair (Aplle symbol)

I think you should have no problem selling those. You could try selling them all, or in a lot on ebay and see what you get.

If you decide to sell or trade them, you can tell your mom that you deboxed them, then tell her, "See?  It's this one and this one and that one over there."  Point to some solid-colored real ponies, and your mom won't know the difference.

It was so sweet of your mom to try, but you're just not that interested in fakies.  I would feel the same way in your position.

I'm not a fakie lover either, but it's actually quite a nice little (big!) gift set.  I'm sure someone will want it.

I am such a sentimental silly...I dont collect fakies but I wouldnt be able to part with them if my mum had gone to such effort...or maybe I would at least keep a couple [I kinda like the shs fakie ones in there!]. So I understand you feeling bad.

But if you are downsizing a box that size is going to get in your way. I cant say what I would do personally, because as above I probably would keep them lol, but your best bet would be to offer them for sale or for "shipping only" to fakie collectors - probably deboxed as I imagine that would be a nightmare to ship!

Well, more or less the same happened to me and I am trying to sell the fakies except for one of them, but the person who gave them to me didn't know much about ponies either and he doesn't know I am selling them lol. I don't think he would mind, though. In your case, if you really feel bad, I say you keep them or at least some of them you like the most and either sell or customize the others. But yes, I know it is a bit frustrating in the beginning when you don't know what to do...

Argh, don't you hate that.  I have lots of ponies in my collection that I had no desire to ever own thanks to family buying them.  I honestly have no idea what I would do if they gave me that box.  Maybe hold onto it for a while and then regift to some kids?

dede - First off, those will sell just fine on Ebay if you want to sell them. I like how they are displayed but even if you debox them they will sell just fine. I used to sell fakies and they always seemed to sell at reasonable prices. Mine weren't even mint like yours.

So if you really wanted to sell them you won't have any problems :-)

I honestly wouldn't keep them if they stress you out. Is your mom the type of person that will ask about them again?

Well, I love the baby and the flutter (or little SHS) fakies. I pick those up all the time when I find them.  I'm sure there are others that would buy them from you if you didn't want them.

It is sweet of your mom to pick it up for you - at least you know she's aware of what you like (even if it's not exactly MLP). I would say debox them and pass some of them to new homes if you really aren't keen on keeping all of them.

Actually, i feel they display really nicely though! you know, I would treat them as any other ornament or whatever they´re called, that you get as gifts and just display it somewhere in the house. Don't even treat them like ponies ^^

that's at least what I´d do, have them on a shelf in my living room or something, just to show that I appreciate the gift
