Strange outer space fakie ponies have landed ... who are they?

These two extremely silly and funy fakies are proving to be a huge problem for me identification wise. They are dated  1998 Hinstar China.  Who in the world are they? What planet did they come from? They are super funny. I would like to know. Anyone know?

I'm not sure. They look a bit familiar but I'm not too much of a fakie nut. I will say that they look kinda cute, and their tails look like they are made from quality hair from your photo. It looks silky!

I thought at first sight those were from some cartoon in the UK but I think I'm wrong. They look very familiar. Hinstar made other fakie animals too.

Well I sure hope someone knows something. My guess is since I have two the same there had to be more and that means more comical type faces. I am curious what they were called.  The hair is nice quality and its rooted rather than the usual way we see pony tails done. Kind of reminds me of the way MLP SA pony tails are.
