Per MLP Arena tradition I wanted to start a thread in anticipation of DJ/Vinyl Scratch's arrival at Hasbro Toy Shop!
I think that we can expect to see her listed here within the next few days. Hopefully, we'll see her tomorrow!

No need for me to hunt this year. I already picked up one from a lovely Arena member that went to the fair. She is awesome, though, so I hope everyone that wants one is able to get her.

Traditionally, I think this is what happens. Last year was weird, though... We had to wait until Wednesday if I remember right!
Twilight has been up since before the con, I think! She's not an SDCC exclusive, so-to-speak, but she's still special!

Whew, so glad I'm not interested and I don't have to camp out this year! lol. Last year the days and days of camping were stressful (though hooray I was successful and got FS Muffins for $20!)

I'm not sure about the free shipping... it sure would be nice, but I tried ordering the $50 Twilight a few days ago (adding a $5 pony) and though the total was over $50, I wouldn't have gotten free shipping (I cancelled my order). Not sure if it would be the same way with Pon-3. I wish there was an easier way to tell what gets free shipping or not...
On the note of that Twilight though, I really do want her, and though I really shouldn't spend more than the $50 on Pon-3, I might just have to go for both...

Question for you guys! Is everyone who is on Hasbrotoyshop looking at the MLP stuff sorted out my "Newest" and refreshing? I keep doing that, I hope she pops up in front the Alicorn Twilight!
I am trying to grab some con stuff via ebay if that counts! I won the large DJ Pon-3/ Transformers Hasbro bag for a total of $8! =P I am also watching the WLF Bubble Muffin figures on auctions. Is there any more mlp con merch going up for sale on websites today besides the Hasbro Exclusive?

I'm pretty sure I kept refreshing the "exclusives" section last year. I remembered there were 20 more listings suddenly and I almost had a heart attack rushing through checkout.
Also, last year it was a Wednesday though people were expecting Tuesday. I'm gonna stalk today anyways just because I don't trust Hasbro.

It'll probably work either way, that's just how I picked up the muffin pony last year.

Ugh, I already feel the nervousness about possibly missing Pon-3 creeping in... gah, I don't want to ruin myself like I did last year getting Bubbles...
Though I guess, if I do miss Pon-3, I should be able to trade Bubbles (as in SDCC Bubbles) for a Pon-3, right? My boyfriend and I were both able to get a Bubbles last year. I guess it's good to have a backup strategy!

Do you guys think they are in the warehouse right now counting the all the new merchandise to post on their website? I wonder if they sat there counting all of the EQG Pinkies Pies and AJs before they listed them lol. Watch them list the rest of the EQG stuff then they list DJ last.

Could be lol, they've been taking longer the past few years. I read the only exclusive they sold out of at the show was the Boba Fett set, so maybe they have a lot of inventory to account for?
Another hts factoid quote from hisstank:

It's probably the most popular Gi Joe collector site, I used to be really into that around 2008, but every year they have an F5 thread(http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-joe-toys-modern-general-discussion/369823-official-2013-f5-thread-oh-yes-there-will-clicks.html), last year's was around a few hundred pages long. I guess it's just fun to be in the same situation for different items. It's like Christmas Eve, except were going to catch Santa in the act and claim our presents, lol.

I found my order confirmation from last year and it said 12:14 PM (Eastern) on the Wednesday after. I hope they get it up sooner than that this year.
As I recall, none of the coupon codes worked on the exclusives last year.

Yes ma'am, it's a G1 Big Brother boy pony named Salty! Funny story it's actually the second time I found him in a thrift store in two years, the first one I got was in much better shape, and had the bandanna, this one is still in not bad shape!

I know for sure it wasn't that post because I saw that one too, it was a shared post a few days ago from a legit source I remember just can;t remember which page! It was an image of something, and in the print underneath it was saying a bunch of things and then it said "My Little Pony DJ-Pon3 will be available on hasbrotoyshop.com on Monday July 22nd." SO I WROTE A NOTE! I wish I could find it right now!

Looks like I'm joining the friend since I'm trying to pick one up for a friend :P Really if you think about it, Wednesday will be an impressively fast release. You gotta consider that comic con went until sunday, so the employees had to physically pack up and ship everything back all the way to their warehouse whatever that may be and then inventory and get the website set up.

This is sort of redundant reminder, but last year they cancelled orders of more than one pony just fyi to avoid disappointment.

Well- it really depends on how their website pushes work- I'm holding out until about 12:40, because website pushes happen in sections usually. So- while the home page may change at noon, other sections push live at different times.

Although- it looks like they were updating the pony stuffs around 11:30/12pm EST yesterday, so I'm guessing we're in for another day. Wouldn't it be terrible though if we gave up and they all came up at 4pm!

This reminds me of competing for PAX tickets.
It's a really popular Con in Seattle every year for hard-core gamers. Seattle obviously has more tech-rats and geeks per square inch than most cities- and the con sells out every year within minutes of registration opening, even though the date and time that registration opens is always different and not announced in advance. I've yet to get tickets.
I think some of the people who get tickets use Bots to keep an eye out and order when things go live. Makes me wish I could set up something like that for Hasbrotoyshop (I know a program that does this for Amazon)

There's one with a $50 current bid($6 shipping), and compared to HTS, that's about $4 less, though I'm sure snipers will blow up that price in the last few seconds.

Similar happened to me and my boyfriend last year (though we were intentionally ordering two to different addresses; he just noticed Bubbles was up while he was at work so he did an order for himself even though I did one for him too). They just ended up cancelling one of the orders. I think you'll be okay.
Though on the note of one per household...does it actually say one per household? I'm assuming that's the case, but I don't actually see it said anywhere...maybe it tells you if you try to put two in your cart?

Good point. I thought about it for a while during the time I was waiting for her to pop up, and once she did I kinda went ahead with it without thinking. I can afford her, but it really is a lot for one pony. >.<

Glad I got to order one. I got last years so this is always exciting but I thought they had last years up on 2 different days. Perhaps they are running this DJ longer and if you miss out today oh well because last years seemed to be up for a short time and then they sold it again on a different day. Correct me if I am wrong.

I think a little of both- she is WAY overpriced for what she is- I think her design and bling is kinda fun, but the Funko DJ has a much nicer sculpt, and will be only $12-$15 vs $50. So are the rhinestones and lights on Hasbro DJ worth $36-38? Plenty will say no.
She did sell out at Comic Con- but Hasbro's stuff always does.

Just got a confirmation from my friend - HIS friend (who I've also met, but only once) is very excited that I snagged a Boba for him! I got my sparkly funko girls, but I just can't bring myself to spend 50$ on DJ. I'm primarily a g4 collector and I don't even like her much :S I wish she was much cheaper, or a different pony. Weird to see she's still up.. Hope everyone who gets her loves her though!

I'm so sorry you missed out on your Boba!! I was trying to find out ASAP if said friend needed mine, just in case his friend ALSO snagged a Boba, just in case we ended up with an extra. :( I'm sorry!! If it's any comfort, at least he won't be scalped? He's going to a super-devoted action figure collector, from what I hear! :) And he's super jazzed, so yay for getting one out of the hands of scalpers! (Because, oh God, the number of Bobas on eBay right now ... -_-)
I'm similarly blown away! I think a lot of people must have bought theirs from the pre-sales on eBay, due to last year's nightmare with HTS' terrible system breaking down and what not. Better to pay an extra $25-30 and save yourself the drama, right? So maybe Hasbro made more, and due to last year's hiccup, the price jump, and possible over-production, they ended up with wayyyy more of these things on their hands than they intended!

That was my problem too, reanna!! I missed out on Bubblecup from HTS, and by the time I bought her on eBay, I had to pay like, $100 - which is ridiculous, for a $20 pony! It's comforting to me, at least, that the scalpers selling DJ-P0N3 are aiming for more like $75, since that's only a 50% markup ... as compared to a 500% one. :faint:

UGH. I missed out on the two exclusives (Neither Vinyl) I really wanted all because of this stupid corporate visit that's happening tomorrow at work. I worked a 15 1/2 hour day because of it and only had an hour break, which happened to start a half hour after everything went up. This is very upsetting. :(

I think the muffin pony sold out faster because a) it was a brushable (and thus appealing to all of us); and b) it was also a "fan favorite" so it appealed to the bronies (and those of us who love the new series)
The DJ Pony was probably made in greater numbers based on how popular muffin pony was- but probably way less popular because a) DJ is molded with no brushable hair so those who collect only brushable ponies were not too thrilled with her b) the extreme price tag discouraged all collectors- including the bronies.

And the limit 2 is per person, not just per order: tried to order 2 more for some friends and the order was canceled the next day, with an email from the "order investigations department". Said my initial order would be completed though, so not penalized.

I am guessing Hasbro may have miscalculated on her popularity :P All in I know they have made some daft decisions in the past and for me this really is one of them. Perhaps they could have offered more up to the Fair or even some to some of the overseas Fairs to sell?
You can even see it here on the Arena - last year we had a 70+ page thread on Drama Pony and she sold out super quickly, this year we are at 20ish and she is still not sold out.

Exactly- they came up with a product that was slightly annoying to both groups of collectors. The bronies are always whining about how they want LESS sparkly in their ponies. The collector/non bronies just want some brushable hair. EVERYONE wants a reasonable price tag.

Yeah I definitely saw this one coming, I'm not surprised at all. The shame is if they had used plastic crystals instead of swarovski ones i probably wouldn't have been able to tell the difference and i would have been happier with what probably would have been half of the price.
And what I find the weirdest part? They clearly were counting on the brony market to move these in quantity. So what bronies do they think want swarovski crystals rather than a better price point?
Exactly- they came up with a product that was slightly annoying to both groups of collectors. The bronies are always whining about how they want LESS sparkly in their ponies. The collector/non bronies just want some brushable hair. EVERYONE wants a reasonable price tag.
All in = useless.
Hasbro need to hire us Galatica...we could seriously start teaching them things :P

My gosh this thing still is not sold out? This must be the biggest bomb ever.
I was hoping to be able to sell the one I got at the fair after buying it sight unseen. Serves me right for falling for The Premium Exclusive Figure line that it was advertised with when it was really just a cheap Funko knockoff. Of course if it had been advertised as that, no one would have bought it!
Someone at Hasbro needs to be chucked!

I think they 'failed' in a few areas with this one. I think they purchased a bigger run then in years past and it kinda bit them in the but. Most of their popular toys sell like hot cakes once listed even with the 2 per person order.
Many folks knew that Funko would be releasing a DJ down the line and so it would be kinda pointless to buy two DJ's with one being $50.00
I don't think the glitter/gem thing went over well with everyone.
I also think folks were expecting a nice brushable. For hasbro to make this kind of move to all plastic was really brazen of them.

Plus, last year no one knew we'd ever get a muffin brushable. We we're still reeling from "Last Roundupgate" and it was "This is my one shot. One. There will be no more Hasbro muffins."
Though, there is a part of me that sort of wants them to price next years exclusive at $50 only to work as a scalper deterrent. $20 would be better, but the odds of next years being scalped for $50 at that price are pretty high and most of us will have to resort to scalpers anyway, so it'll be kinda a wash.

I wonder then what the line at Comic Con was like to purchase her. If it was anything like last year, then I sort of feel bad for everyone that spent so much of their time in that line! Especially compared to the fact that she's still available online.

Maybe I'm weird, but I don't care about brushable hair, especially for a toy that was made to be kept MIB. I really like DJ Pon3. Her box sits on my desk and every so often I hit the button to make her light up. And I think the crystals make her a little bit special, and not one more cheap piece of plastic. If I ever really want to brush a pony's hair I have hundreds of loose G1s to choose from. I hope I'm not the only one who is completely happy with her.
Also, I don't think that a toy is a bomb because it doesn't sell out in 1 day. I have all faith that due to the price point and larger run Hasbro is making plenty of money.

I have to ask, does anyone know about the stickers? The one DJ ponys sold at the fair have the fair sticker? And when I looked at ebay the SDCC pony doesnt have the fair sticker only the SDCC sticker.
So, my question is:
If I want the fair variant (only the sticker that are different from the box/pony) I would need to check after the right sticker?
I think this one will be my last purchase, then Im closing my collection and try to complete the only one pony that I dont have, LS Pinkie Pie. Im so sick of hasbro and their lack of fantasy and only focus on the money they will earn.

Really- she isn't a terrible pony- she just seems overpriced- and not really what I was hoping for from a SDCC exclusive. Didn't stop me from getting her of course :lol:
I'm sure Hasbro is disappointed she didn't sell out in minutes like last year- but the art ponies used to take much longer on Hasbrotoyshop to sell out, so it's not out of the question.
I am hoping that they drop the price on DJ and Twilight- I'd like to get a MIB Twilight since mine was loose...

My husband brought mine home today! He has a friend who goes every year, and he always picks me up the SDCC MLP. I admit that I do like her more than I thought I would!
Overall I think it's cool that they tried to make her more of an exclusive by having the crystals and light feature - I just wished they had chosen a different character, and made her a brushable.
Still, I'm quite happy with her overall (which is a complete 180 of how I felt about it when she was announced as the SDCC pony).

I agree that this figure was kind of a hard sell to just about everybody, but I didn't think she'd be available for days after the fact! Wonder how long she'll be warming the shelves.
I kind of feel silly for camping Hasbrotoyshop last week, but hey, it was fun. And my friend gets their pony. :)

Wow some of the ebay listings are not passing the 50 dllrs mark on them !!! The sellers were counting on them going past that price for sure ! 38 dllrs on one listing i was watching and 40 on another one !

I wonder if the low-ish price on eBay is because there were a number of ponies for ComicCon this year. Not enough money to put towards a single pony when there are multiples that people are wanting to get.

They might be low because she is still available from Hasbro. When they finally sell out I'd think they'd go up again. Unless people just don't want her. Which is possible. She isn't really well loved.

Ditto! I ordered mine on weds evening and she was suppose to go out last thurs. she didn't end up shipping until yesterday, but at least she's scheduled for delivery tommorrow via FedEx.
