OMG... Twilight has the unpainted molded top from the other doll under her fabric clothes! haha!
If they really are looking to dig at Monster High, and it still very much appears to me that they are, I don't understand why they didn't make these dolls jointed. That's a big part of the appeal of that line.
I think I liked the first prototypes better. . .
I do like Sunset Shimmer's hair colors.

I like them, I feel like I'll be the only positive comment...I like them too Starly! I think they're cute. I can see where Hasbro is trying to get in on the MH popularity: by making the dolls more colorful and less 'human-like". They're a little rough, but I certainly don't think they're as terrible as everyone is making them out to be.
I can't help but feel that these are still prototypes. Neckless Twilight, wierd leg Sunset Shimmer, wingless Twilight on the box...

Its not the eyebrows that are the source of the complaints; those are fine. Its the eye makeup that blends into the eyebrow that makes things weird. Eye makeup... I wouldn't call that natural. For me, this eye makeup is an unnecessary feature that distracts and detracts from the overall appearance. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions though :)

I don't even know how big Equestria Girls dolls are. I'm guessing monster high size though, in which case the regular sized G1s would be like babies. Megan is a very small doll compared to other dolls. I should have clarified better in my earlier post but I wish Hasbro would have spent more energy/time/money into actual ponies, not dolls trying to compete with Monster High/Bratz.
I feel indifferent about them. They look alright for fashion dolls - I've seen uglier. I think Monster High dolls have nicer face sculpts though.

I'm glad Hasbro made them , they need to cover all the possibilities with the ponies so i think the dolls were super overdue, but I believe this was the best time to get them out there :) while we wait for the new season and the new toys , is better than having nothing to see from them :)

I don't have any Bratz or Moxie dolls to check, sorry. And they don't come with a dvd, it just says dvd in stores now, which makes me think the dolls won't start showing up in stores until August, when the dvd comes out.
They're hard plastic that pop in and out of their backs. Definitely not flimsy like flutter wings. It would take a lot of effort to break these.sweet! thanks

I spotted RD and Fluttershy at TRU today, and something weird happened- I started to want Fluttershy! (I really didn't like these dolls at first) I was already thinking of saving to buy FS when I got home from shopping this afternoon, and I was so glad I don't have the money to impulse buy!! I think I might need that deluxe Rainbow Dash. The more I see her, the more I like her.One can still can dress up the dolls despite their painted on tops...I like to think of em as under shirts :lol:
Plus, since she doesn't have a painted-on top like the basic ponies (I seriously hate painted-on tops on dolls), I can dress her up however I want! YAY!

It may look that way in the photos, but I assure you that all of her orange is the same color. She is not wearing tights. I think the one leg yellow is supposed to complement the yellow-side of her hair.

I really wish she was more poseable. I had so much fun posing my Monster High dolls and taking pics of them, but with Fluttershy, I was much more limited. I also wish she had feet and I wish she had yellow wings. I mean, I like her and I think she's cute, but the fact that these dolls cost about the same as MH and aren't the same quality is what is keeping me from buying more.

The stiff ones are SO much easier to stand, at least for me. It just seems like the knee joints are really weak. Any little movement, and their knees fall out from under them. I've recently got Applejack. When I looked at her pics online I didn't like her and she wasn't the best looking :s I only liked her box art, but I wound up getting her since my mom said 1 doll (I originally wanted SS&TS 2 pack, somewhat glad I was prepared when she threw me that curveball :lol:)
And I gotta say, she looks pretty darn good :P Texas, country girl...gotta represent :cool:
I actually love the dolls. My only two issues is that I really wish Rarity had a facial expression that looked more like her pony personality and that they would have spent more time thinking out the outfits. I'm waiting to get Apple jacks because I hate her hat. Why couldn't they give her a real cowboy hat?What other type of clothes can the EG dolls wear? :o

Once she was out of the box,I got the chance to inspect her properly. I was amazed that her hair was so neat and shiny! I have seen some people say the hair in the EG dolls is the same as what is used for the ponies,but I don't think that is true. I think her outfit is really cute,although I would have preferred a slightly longer skirt and a top that is not painted on. I find the plastic used on these dolls very cheap. when comparing with own if my old Bratz dolls,I wasn't impressed with the large decrease in quality. Her legs feel pretty hollow to me and it feels like her arms will pop off with the slightest movement. One thing that I found weird was that Rarity has no knees! I know she is a basic doll,therefore she is not articulated,however she has elbows so I don't know why she doesn't have knees. Very weird.
I have the standard Pinkie Pie and the deluxe jointed Fluttershy. I greatly prefer the jointed doll. Fluttershy has been standing on my desk for several days now without falling over and I haven't had any problems with her joints being loose.Ooh yes!!! I love Rarity!! :D totally gonna get this one when it comes out ^^

I keep wanting to like these dolls, but I just can't seem to warm up to them for reasons that a few folks have mentioned. Same molds for each one, apparent disregard for the source material (I, too, believe that the makers of these toys never even saw any of the Equestria Girls art), peg feet and lack of articulation for most dolls in the series. Their price point is also super ambitious for what they are.
Apparently, they've been fairly popular in my town. The shelves sure seem to get picked over quickly!

The EGs have finially begun selling in sweden and I bought Deluxe RD and Fluttershy and I have noticed quite a bunch of stuff thats different from the american packs. For one, the boxes are slightly different, there are no excerpts about the ponies style or such...im guessing it would take too much space since they gotta do all major european languages. Also the way the stuff is arranged is different, there are even some other colors on the extra items, like the bag and earings of fluttershy matches the colors of the promo photos but the wings are purple, as for RD, they moved the items slightly but not as much as fluttershy, also she come with a pink bag instead of purple. Also, my RD got something of a really odd thing. As far as I know, her "tail" should be blue and purple, but mine is red and blue. I got no clue if it is just mine or all european ones...
One thing Im confused about is, why is Fluttershys hair magenta? Its even stronger than the first releases of the pony fluttershy and it contain red streaks! Why hasbro? Didnt you just fix the normal pony fluttershys to have pale pink hair?

Street date is November. But the date for a lot of the line is later than they have appeared so I guess its possible any time.
