I'm sure if Shining Armor gets put in there, it would be the same one that came with the castle. Hasbro is king of the repeats, remember? And we've already seen the Cadance toy in several different packaging.
I'm not complaining, though. Even with troll hair I'd like a way to get SA without shelling out $30 for a castle that I have NO room for in my house lol.

Well, I hope that it is Chrysalis....seeing as the other three have already been released. In fact, I'll be pretty darn mad if any of the other ones are included. Well....I'd be only slightly mad if Shining Armor is in there....seeing as I don't want to have to buy the playset to get him.

Hear hear! I want Shining Armor but I've got a Cadance already and I don't want a giant expensive castle that I have no room for.
I wouldn't mind if the repeats were non-mane 6 characters. I'd prefer Lyra and SA to ANOTHER Pinkie and RD.

So this vote is not going to influence the package at all... It's already ready to go lol. They're just doing a poll to generate hype. My bet is that the new Fan Favorites set is going to include ALL of those listed. SA, Lyra, and Nightmare Moon will be repeats, while Chrysalis and Shadowbolt (one of the 'dark' Wonderbolts from the first two eps of season 1...?) will be the new figures.
...and we'll probably be expected to pay $45 for a package of 5 ponies, 3 of which have already been put out.

...I AM a little apprehensive about the list provided since 3 of the 5 characters listed have already been released. What the heck? I really hope the set consists mostly of previously unreleased characters.

Neat but since I have no facebook I must wait and see what others find and vote. I would love a chance to get another Shining Armor but there are also so many other possible choices. Queen I Need Love (Queen Chrysalis), Twilight Sky, any Wonderbolt (like Spitfire or Soarin), Sweetie Drops (Bon Bon), Big Macintosh, Granny Smith, any blind bag figure that is not already a brushable (2 many to name), and the list goes on.
Also no not another big set with Nightmare Moon or a big set with Lyra Heartstring. We already have a big set with Nightmare Moon and a single for Lyra Heartstrings so if either of these are in the set than it will make the set less of a want for most people. The same can be said for any of the already releases ponies and any main 6 ponies. Shining Armor not so much because people avoided getting him with the castle or the fact that he is the only brushable boy out right now. Even if you have him getting another to custom is not cheap so having him or another boy would be great.

I'm guessing we are getting at least two of those. Probably fluttershy and rarity maybe. I really wish it was just all background ponies though.

I think my heart skipped a beat when I read this. Amongst the somewhat dismal new toy prospects we've had lately, this is such wonderful, wonderful news! If the set is even just those 5 characters on the poll I will be stoked over Queen Chrysalis and a Shadow Bolt. I'm so anxious for the reveal tomorrow!

I guess it wouldn't matter too much for me. I'm strongly against Chrysalis. If Hasbroken puts out a playset with her, I'd just do what I did with the first fan favorites playset and get each figures individually.
*sigh* each time they pander to the bronies, I feel less inclined to buy the toys. But because I'm neurotic, I can't stop until the generation ends. This will not end well...

I will gladly have Fluttershy. She's the only one I don't have (and yet I already have two Twis, two Pinkies, and two Raritys, and will have 2 AJs, and Rainbows once I get the other two princess sets....). The last set had a focus on NMM so maybe this time it'll be Crysalis? Then Shining Armour, Big Mac, Wonderbolt, Shadowbolt, Fluttershy and Rarity/Lyra? Maybe two unicorns to even things out? I just hope they don't have the same damage issues the last set had (I'm dreading receiving my set and seeing the dents, I just hope NMM and Vinyl Scratch are okay...)
I really like these collections, though, as it's nice us older fans get some recognition and I imagine there are plenty of younger fans who appreciate fan favourite characters. I

I personally don't see this as a pandering to anyone. Chrysalis was a character from the show, along with every other character mentioned in the poll. The only one from the list who is a "brony favorite" is Lyra, and they already released a toy of her. I personally thought in the previous set that DJ-Pon3 was a bit of a pander, but they evened it out by also including two completely random bg ponies who don't have a fandom around them. I think these sets are a pretty good mix of "something for everyone".

TRU, I could kiss you! I want a Queen Chrysalis! They did Nightmare Moon for the last set, I kind of like a villain theme going on for collector sets. Maybe the one after that can have King Sombra.

We are probably going to get at least a couple repeats in this set. Maybe Lyra, Shining Armor, Rarity, or Fluttershy.

Well if they did what they did before, there will definetly be a Queen Chrysalis plus two of the mane six plus four other ponies. I wouldn't be surprised if they included Lyra since last year they included Trixie even though she had a huge release as a single at the same time. I personally am really pulling for Big Mac. I would also really prefer it if they released a Wonderbolt rather than a Shadowbolt.
Any way they do it though, I am supper excited to see some knew faces!

Which is my problem. I don't want the toys to tie into the show. But I guess there is nothing I can do- they already announced the sync, and it's starting.
I'm conflicted over coping with this, but guess there's nothing I can do.

No doubt the Shadowbolt figure will be a regular pegasus mold with a paint job... I just hope the eye indents line up this time and don't look hideous (let's not make DJ PON3 a reoccurring theme, Hasbroken!)

I am totally dying to find out who is in the set- there have been no clues from Taobao! No clues about the SDCC pony either- which is different than last year. Makes me wonder if Hasbro cracking down on the Chinese factories who are selling off test-runs and QC failures....

Yeah, that's what I'm fearing. It seems people are really into the mini-figures (because "OMG show accuracy!11oneeleventy!"), so I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it's just a bunch of those mini-figures. I'm hoping they're actual My Little Pony figures though :P

I'm really hoping that they have a Minty figure, I mean, Chrysalis sounds awesome, but in all honesty I'd rather have the green pony with bubblegum-colored hair ^.^
If it's mostly repeat ponies (including NMM), I'll probably pass until the ones I don't have are being sold dirt cheap on ebay.

Haha, I feel really dumb that my first thought was to vote for Lyra (being my favourite of the choices) but then I remembered the regular release of her... changed it to Chrysalis, though really none of these are that much want to me. But I am excited for the reveal of something new.

I was just thinking how strange it was that we didn't get any hint of this from Taobao!
Totally didn't think about this being a blind bag set... But I'm going to doubt it because 1.) blind bags get leaked more than ANYthing, we saw leaks for blind bag waves 5 and 6 back when there was only wave 2 released officially and 2.) TRU already did a very similar exclusive brushable release, so it would stand to reason they are going to try it again if it made them enough money
Although with Hasbro I wouldn't doubt anything, so I wouldn't be surprised if it did turn out to be a blind bag or mini-sized set.

I kinda fear that those will be the characters in the set. That would be pretty dissapointing.
Chrysalis and the Shadowbolt are neat...the other ponies not so much. Just tired of all these re-releases.

Wowzers. This would be a nice treat since all we have to look forward to is more Mane 6 and a winged twilight, which is pretty but still mane 6, exciting!!
It would be silly of them to have Lyra in a set again...but they could just slap glitter on her like Trixie.
Shining armor would offer opportunity for some to get him without the castle...but another repeat :( So many other male characters to pick from.
A shadowbolt would be neat for another *villain* but we see wonderbolts more.
NM we have so another one here...maybe for others who didn't want the previous set?
I'm all for Queen Chrysalis! Maybe they are testing us.....we assume they'll have some repeats but what if they are just lumping those together so as not to give all the new ponies away? :tackleglomp:

We are of the same mind lol...as I posted almost exactly that in the other thread.
I would suspect the set may contain at least 3 of these characters plus a couple of the main 6 and hopefully a couple of simple new ponies. I would be super disappointed [although not stunned] if its made up of these 5 plus 2 of the main 6, as after all 3 of them in SA, Lyra and Nightmare Moon have already had a release.

I suspect they'll be following the format of the last release, and this time we'll see Queen Chrysalis as the larger pony, two more of the main 6 (I hope it's Fluttershy and Rarity), two HasbrOC's (although I hope not) and one actual fan-favourite pony. I'm hoping for Bon Bon (to go with Lyra), Octavia (to go with Vinyl Scratch), the Minty prototype and Roseluck because she's so pretty. But a boy pony or a Shadowbolt would be cool too!

I fear this may be the case; that would fulfill the "6 regular brushies plus bigger villain character" format that the first one had. :huh: Well, here's hoping that if that's the case, the Shining Armor figure will have different hair plugs than the trolldoll castle set one... :P If I bought this given set, it would be like $10-11 each for new figures; I have Lyra and all of the main six already...

Yes thats the vibe I get...it will be to time with the Toy Fair as after all their are pre release appointments with the manufacturers prior to the Fair I would guess Hasbros will include this set in association with TRU.

Makes it slightly more likely we will see leaks on Taobao unless they really have clamped down. I have seen fewer and fewer ponies lately, so I think that Hasbro might have finally caught wind of the Taobao market and done something to shut it down to some extent...

It'll probably be a while before it shows up in Canada like the last set, but I so have my fingers crossed Chrysalis is included in this set! I'll be stalking toysrus.ca everyday once it's announced so I can grab a set. Either way, yay new brushables!

Hopefully it crosses the pond but I won't surprised if it stays US exclusive :huh: just hoping that the price doesn't jump to a ridiculous figure for those importing. The new postage rates will already hurt them on that one

I would love to get a Queen Chrysalis. She and Nightmare Moon are my favorite villains on the show. Shinning Armor would be nice for the people who didn't want to buy the castle to get him.

I personally had my set sent to a friend as I wasn't sure the price they quoted me would pay for decent packaging (domestically they ship in just a giant cardboard box). I recall they quoted just under $10 to the UK, which is incredibly cheap.

Its not Hasbro you would need to speak to - this is a TRU exclusive so its down to TRU not Hasbro.

But they promised to let us know by today? The pic you are referring to looks like the wicked-fancy-talking million dollar Twilight- She is cute (and I don't actually think anyone has posted about her yet) but not part of the Favorites set so I do think that a pic of the new set (or at least an admission of who is IN the set) should be coming still- I HOPE!
And by the way Ren Ren, still very grateful you helped hook me up with the first set the first time around! I will probably need your help again with this one, lol

My understanding was that it would be around the same size as those light-up talking princess toys (Celestia & Cadence)
... although upon further research, I don't know that her actual size has been disclosed. Here is the description from Entertainment Earth:

Man...that Twilight is pretty disappointing actually. I was quite excited for her, but now, not so much.
I'll probably still get her some day, though I definitely plan to get Cadance first, since I still don't have her.

That cord hanging from her may be a "Demo" cord, where they can press a button to make her say things without touching her, for display and show.

Last year's TRU set was first revealed at the NY Toy Fair. So hopefully the same will happen this time and we'll see it tomorrow. It's Hasbro's My Little Pony facebook page that failed in their promise to reveal the set today, not TRU's.

I think it is a little to dark and some ponies are hard to see well. So that Nightmare Moon is a talking version like Celestia and Cadance. So would rather have a talking Princess Luna more than a taking Nightmare Moon right now. Love the Showdowbolt or is that Rainbow Dash as she dressed as a shadowbolt for the Nightmare Night celebration?

She actually has Rainbow Dash's eyes, not like those in the pic. Also her symbol is pink, so I don't think that's Lily Blossom.

It's hard to say whether I like the smaller ones or not, since the quality isn't too good. I do like that Nightmare Moon! She'll be a definite get (if she's one of those talking ones, I wonder what sort of stuff she says?).

I don't think so. Not if she is the larger version as is being speculated. How much are the other talking figures being sold for? $20-25? Then figure in more shipping than the original takes since she will be three times the size. It will probably come out to about the same.

If it's Diamond Tiara, wouldn't she be closer to Cadence's body color?
OMG, NONE of these ponies will be duplicates for me! HAPPY DAY!!!
I would've loved Cadence with show accurate wings, but I am not really fussed about the lack. If Hasbro decides to make a new mold, I'd rather have it be a regular "playful pony" mold, ha ha. Anyway, I can pretend she's in mid-transformation to her Cadence disguise. I'm just so glad we have another villain.

I'm surprised to find that the pony I'm super excited about is Diamond Tiara. Perhaps it is because her presence was completely unexpected by me. Drama pony is awesome too, but more predictable. We're (finally!) getting a filly with a cutie mark! Plus, I love her design even if I hate her personality.
The picture quality is poor because it's just a teaser photo. Hopefully we'll get better ones at the fair. Or from TaoBao soon, heh heh.
Also, I'm starting to have as many Cadances as Pinkie Pies ^^; Good thing I really love her.

Ooooooh interesting! My thoughts:
- Hooray, I can get Shining Armor without having to buy the giant hunk of wedding castle plastic! I love that he gets a re-release, we need more boys and it's a great choice if they have to add re-releases to the set.
- Chrysalis! Now we can reenact the royal wedding episode! Great choice of character here, makes me wonder if Discord will be the SDCC exclusive (new mold and all) since Chrysalis was the other big speculation for that one.
- A new filly! The CMCs get a friend (or rival, if it's Diamond Tiara - which would mean we get TWO villains for the price of one)! It's about time they give us a new tiny pony.
- Is that a silly grey pegasus I see?!?!?!?!? I bet you they leave her name blank if it is! I hope so, I think she's just adorable as a character and I would love to add her to my herd.
- Lyra again. I like Lyra, so if we're getting a repeat of another one, she's not a bad choice. I'd rather have extra Lyra than yet another Pinkie Pie.
- Who's the purple gal? A spa pony? A background character?
- Nightmare Moon as a big talky one? MUCH better than the thought that they would resell the same exclusive as last year. Can we PLEASE get some menacing dialogue, like "the night will last FOREVER!" or "Bow before your queen!" Please don't have her talk about her pretty wings, or ask if you're a princess too. >.<
- Shadowbolt is the new Zecora. Probably won't buy, but interesting choice. I guess that works with Nightmare Moon as the big pony of the year.
Overall, I see three (maybe 4) bad guys in this year's exclusives. I LIKEY. Makes sense with the show. If you're going to throw an army of Mane 6s at us, at least give them someone to fight! Now all we need is Discord (oh please oh please) and Sombra (meh) and all the major antagonists are represented.

I'm actually excited for all of the ponies shown. I've never bothered with the big talking Celestias and Cadence, but I think I would buy talking NMM just to have a big villain to stand over all my littler ponies. I'm pumped for that Favourites collection too; only one repeat for me!
Super surprised that Ditzy Doo is included, but not displeased. I'm not big on Fashion Styles and I don't like to have my Funko ponies out of box, so it'll be nice to have a little Ditzy to hang out with my other pegasi.
I do wonder who that pony between Ditzy and Cadence is though... She looks familiar but I really can't place her. She doesn't look like either spa pony to me. To the FiM wiki to look up background characters!

I'm eager to see a better picture of Chrysalis. She is the one I am most excited about, but from that image she doesn't look too great.
I really hope that is Diamond Tirara! It will be neat to finally have a baby pony figure with a cutie mark, and I have a soft spot for those snotty fillies. Also really excited about the spa pony and giant NMM!
Eh, would have been more excited about Lily Blossom than Ditzy Doo. I know she's a fan favourite, but she's really boring to me and I'm sick of seeing her. No words to say how pleased I am with Hasbro releasing a regular sized Bubbles! What a great surprise! And I am quite curious at to who the pony next to her is, but I really don't think it's Lotus Blossom, this one's hair looks just as blonde as Bubbles'...
The large Nightmare Moon isn't something I would buy, but wow she looks great!

Her fan name is Lyrica. The colours are a better match, but it's an odd choice on Hasbro's part. We won't know until the release a better photo for us though.

There's some fun things here. Shining Armor still has troll hair...heee and Cadance/Lyra will be repeats as well BUT a brushable bubbley that I can actually take out of her box?! (If I do...) I'll take her too then. Don't want to ruin the minty-ness of my FS one.
Fluttershy has her own hair mold now for a the smaller figures! :enthralled:
I wish that was Lily Blossom too, oh wells!

HotTopic is releasing a Funko vinyl of him though :) I'm not a fan of molded hair but for him I'll allow it, it keeps his unique hairdo the way it should be.

At least with this pack, if you want to get multiple packs to customize the extra SAs into different boy ponies they come with a bunch of other pony baits instead of huge useless chunks of plastic.

Chrysalis looks really kind of creepy in the close up photos... also, though I'm glad we're getting an Earth pony with unicorn eyes, it's really disappointing that her cutie mark looks to be the exact same as Lyra's.

Chrysalis' holes look to be painted on... Not sure how I feel about that, but I know I'm buying her either way. I'll just prefer the customs with real holes more.

Also, I thought Lyra's hair colours were darker this time around! I'm kind of hoping that's not just bad lighting, cuz it would be pretty neat to have two versions of her instead of identical duplicates.

Chrysalis' holes are painted, look at the back of the front down hoof and the front of the front up hoof... that's really disappointing... especially since you can see the original Celestia hoof mold... if I recall Chrysalis didn't have 'armored' hooves...

I am LOVING these new ponies! All of them!
I will admit that moving Twilight creeps me out, though. Don't like Twilight or electornic toys so won't be buying her xDD But the new fan favorites pack, plus Shadowbolt? 100% buying both of those.
I snapped up the last fan pack and Zecora. Only pony I really don't want is Lyra cause I have her, I like that Cadance better than the FS one I have (I only have her cause I wanted the mohawk Shining Armor), but I don't like that version of Shining Armor. I made mine's personality into a punk rocker and gave him a guitar, maybe that one can be the punk's distant cousin who he constantly brawls with.

I am disappoint. this is hasbro being lazy and slapping together a 'collector set' which is really not very well made. diamond tiara is an earth pony. chrysalis is a re-used celestia. we get a random purple background pony? the hair looks thin and they look very prototypesque. I am only excited about the shadow bolt. and brushable Drama Pony. otherwise, sad day. so much potential.
the yellow pony with the mask looks lovely though.

The new pony looks like she has a ying-yang symbol in the middle of Celestia's sun symbol. You can see her full symbol on her mask, because everyone's cutie marks are on their masks.
Is she like a fire princess or something? Maybe the ponification of Harmony?
It seems too odd that she would have a symbol that looks like that. It looks specifically designed, not like a random lollipop or something. Considering she's also wearing a mask, just like the Mane Six, I'm guessing she's a really important character.

This collectors set looks really awesome. It'll mean a little bit of doubling up for me, but for bubblecup, Crystalis, Diamond Tiara, Shadowbolt Dash and others, it'll be worth it! ^^

Yeah I'm really interested in finding out who she is... I hope I don't have to wait until summer to find out!
I also wonder if she'll be released on her own or in some sort of huge pack. She's not part of the Favorites Collection, mostly because no one even knows who she is, and she seems to be the only new brushable that isn't included in that collection.

The green lover inside me wants dark haired Lyra and that big Chrysalis as her body color looks dark green! I just hope it's the plastic color and not painted on...

I'm glad that you guys cleared the Masquerade thing up. I was looking at the photos and wondering what was up with the luchador ponies!
Blind Bag Chrusalis looks so much better than the brushable. I understand that holes would be hard to manufacture, but the recycled mold really kills it for me because she has the foot ornamentation that the princesses have still. .. And those wings! Please only be a prototype! To me, it's more irksome than Vinyl's eye dents last year!
Anyway! New BB molds and the Grey Prgasus. Totally psyched!

I'm super excited for everything, including the blonde streak SB RD and lucha masquerade ponies!
Only bummer for me is no Fashion Style ponies, specifically AJ and Umbrella Pinkie. Also, they cheaped out on Chrysalis' mold, but the BB has swiss cheese legs and looks mean which is pretty cool considering the line has been really "pure" with their character selection.
I also hope they don't name the Draino Pony.

hasbro seems to be unable to invent really new characters - and again no real green pony...
like the quality of my little pony toys is sinking (speaking of uneven mold, hair that fells of and really penetrant pvc-smell) - i don't see light at the end of the tunnel :cry:

Lots of people have found these new ponies to be lackluster.
They can't all be winners, that's for sure, but I'm happy to find a handful of things that I'm interested in!
I'm curious about the Grey Pegasus' naming as well! If SDCC and Funko's toys are an indication, they'll probably find some way to dodge it again. You never know, though-- The back-card on the original Favorites Collection had names for everybody!
I am a little sad not to see Minty. She's already been produced in some kind of small run anyway, and she's a -really- easy way to make a whole lot of fans very happy.

No Big mac is pretty disappointing when you consider the SA in the 7 pack doesn't have any accessories apparently unless the little coat they're making for him isn't ready yet.
I hope more is revealed in the next few days, some companies like to reveal these things slowly.

I am so excited about SO Many of these- disappointed with Chrysalis design- but I don't know that a Swiss cheese design would be easy or feasible- wish they'd done the wings better though...
Still- SO many other things to be thrilled with- I'm astounded really

I don't think the shadowbolt RD is actually part of the bug TRU set. Most people are speculating that she's the 'new Zecora' - that she'll be a special single release. Otherwise they probably would have displayed her with brushable Chrysalis and the others.

I like the DaP Luna better than the other two they came up with as far as the face goes... I might hold onto FS's wings get DaP Luna, transplant and make a custom out of her for my pony sona XD

That's probably a nod to the scene where she gave part of her tail to the serpent, aka Steven Magnet.

Yes I believe thats exactly what she is. The set is made up of the same number of ponies as previously so Shadowbolt is a stand alone like Zecora.

From the looks of some of the close up pictures of RD, she might glow in the dark. Her costume has a greenish tinge to it that it normally doesn't have in the show because it's purple.
I'm not sure why they picked Lyrica at all for that extra pony. As far as I knew, fans didn't really notice her except to tally up her appearances on the FiM wiki list of all the ponies. I would have thought a pony like Bon Bon, Berry Punch, Octavia, Big Mac, Braeburn, Daring Do, Lightning Dust, Spitfire, Caramel, Fiddlesticks, Golden Harvest, Lily Valley, Roseluck, Time Turner/Doctor Whooves, Nurse Redheart, Screwball, Flitter, Cloudchaser, Thunderlane, Raindrops, Snowflake, Wildfire, Minuette/Colgate, Dinky Doo, Twist, or Silver Spoon. Those are characters that pretty popular with the fanbase. Unless they just wanted to bust out that new head mold, I have no idea why they picked her, especially since she has Lyra's cutie mark. :blink:

Someone joked earlier that they must have picked Lyrica at random out of the FiM wiki... I wonder if it was a random pick, or if we're supposed to see her in a bigger role soon? :0 Either way, sort of a weird choice, and there are lots of other background ponies I would have liked to see instead. But a new pony is a new pony, and she's sort of charming!

New pony brushables are always good at this point!
I do have to say though....We have Lyra x2 brushables now, and if they proceed with another Lyra blind bag that'll make 3. Seriously? Make Bon Bon instead.....talk about obsessed much!
Lyrica is pretty but again same cutie mark. :blush:
Other than that, some pretty cool stuff coming and now we have hope again!

It looks like Nightmare Moon is colored a little differently. Like she's a little more like Princess Luna colors but she's still black and in the same pose as Nightmare Moon.

Yep- in some other pic you can see the serpent she gave her tail too- It appears they are pairing the new Fluttershy with the Manticore- so I guess they will be little sets based on the original episode where their harmony element is revealed... cute idea!
I'm dying to see them.
I'm also a little surprised about Lyrica- especially given the re-release of Lyra who is so similar (and who we have already) - I definitely would have rather had a Bon Bon, or Bic Mac, or Spitfire- who all seem more popular- but at least she's new!
The re-release of Shining Armor isn't as annoying as it could have been as I know a lot of people would like to get this guy without the castle- overall I'm very happy about the set!

Oh that's a good point! Maybe the Chrysalis we are seeing is just the prototype and they will fix her design (and at least her wings for crying out loud) by the time she is released this summer- I really really hope so- otherwise she is totally getting her wings cut from her body and new ones affixed...

Honestly I'm thinking that a lot of these ponies are prototypes; it seems to me that if they were the completed product we would have seen them in their package too? Maybe that's just me being hopeful for a better Chrysalis though.

Well they are definitely prototypes-
the question is how "finished" are they- and how much will the final product deviate from what we are seeing now? Sometimes it seems like some major changes are made- and sometimes- nothing.
I am hoping they were pressed for time and didn't "finish" the design for Chrysalis yet...

Hear hear! Dear Leader needs some more suitable wings. Aside from that, I hope all the really good looking prototypes like DH/DD, the sun pony, and shadowbolt Dash don't end up losing detail in the process, like what happened with the wedding castle. It would definitely bug me if Dash lost the blue and purple in her mane or the details on her costume the way Cadance lost her gradiented wings. :huh: We'll just have to wait and see, I suppose.
