So, according to a thread on ED, there are four new FiM posters being given out for free at Wal-Mart. Can anyone confirm, and if you see some, grab some for us non-USers!!! WANT! Villains, map, season 2 cast, and the wedding available!

That display doesn't look very "free" to me - normally wal-mart posters in bins like that still cost money :S But then again, I can't say I know for sure.

I'm going by a Wal-mart tomorrow to see if I can get a Monster High doll, but I can look to see if this is really the case. I don't think they'd just let somebody grab a bunch and leave - is it free with a pony purchase? Or just free? Is it limited to only so many per person?

It just seems like there should be more... red tape or something, to getting these posters.

Probably "free with purchase" I'd be guessing. I might be able to check my local Wally World this weekend to see.

I'm a little baffled by free too (paying for them would probably make them easier to get too...). The poster container that's easy to see though is Iron Man. On the other side, there seems to be a little box attached to the side of the display where the pony posters might be...

They maybe doing this but haven't heard anything yet.. they once had a thing for littlest pet shop last year and gave out posters and stuff, and you had to sign up for a littlest pet shop thing.. I guess hasbro sent people to select walmarts to promote.. so It won't be at every walmart.

OMG I want those posters with all of my....everything.  :enthralled: I actually hope we can buy them. If they are free I fear they will be very limited and will all be taken up in an instant and then show up for insane prices on ebay.

but eh I just recently got the 2011 comic con poster for a decent price. I really hope I can get these.

If it's in a store, I doubt it would be free. Free with purchase of MLP merchandise, sure, but then I'd wonder how much one would have to purchase to qualify for one. Or four.

Since he bought a lot he took away with him one of each!

Trixie... what part of AZ (at least I'm guessing you are in AZ), are you in?

LMK... because if you are in the Mesa area... then we won't search the same places... :lol: Maybe we can coordinate our efforts... to see what we can find.

I can tell you right now, that the Walmart in Mesa (off of Superstition Springs) doesn't have these.... nor does the one off of Power near the 202... I was at both of these Walmarts earlier today and didn't see ANYTHING like this...

I am in AZ! Tucson though!

I went to Dave and Busters yesterday in Tempe and only went to the target there in the marketplace. (Nothing like this but they had good stock)
I was *close* to Mesa, how funny! Our efforts will be somewhat coordinated then since we are in different cities!

At Walmart today they did not have any....but maybe soon AZ will catch up. :)

One good thing about living in Phoenix... LOTS of Targets and Walmarts to hit (if you are willing to drive... O.o )Thankfully there's 4 or 5 Walmarts within EASY driving distance of me. I think I'll have to check one or two tomorrow... :lol:

Alrighty roo! I can certainly do that, anything else you are looking for that I should take note of?

That's what I like about Phoenix, LOTS of stores to check before you completely luck out. I will have to make a pony hunting trip someday for thrift stores and Blindbags! I can't find Golden Harvest to save my life. (But have sprinkle stripe x2......)

You are also close to the Ren Fest that happens every year! (AND Diamondbacks !!) Lucky Ducky :) Although it's extra toasty there.

Oh man I totally talked myself out of stopping at Walmart on my way home from work today because I checked for new ponies on Monday! *bites nails* Must...resist... driving 45 min right now...just to check Walmarts for posters... >.<

If they're still there right now, surely they will still be there tomorrow morning...you can wait...patience, patience...

Well, I guess I need to head back to Wal-Mart this weekend and hope they have them. I really want the season 2 and villain posters. They'd look great above my bed. I was just there on Wednesday, but luckily we need a new filter for our water pitcher so I'll have an excuse to go there. Then I can check Target again for the trading cards on my way home.

I wish I had seen this before I ran into a Hasbro rep at WalMart... >_<  All I could do was badger the poor woman about the lack of blind bags in my neck of the Canadian woods, and she assured me "they're coming with the new season."  I'd have hit her up for poster info too! :lol:

I'm really curious as to how many Walmarts will get this display... I have 2 Walmarts in my immediate area (read: 45 min drive) and 3 others I can reach if I want to drive more like an hour. And I've found that all 5 can have different pony things in stock. :\ 3 of the 5 never even got the blind bags, so I'm not sure if I'll ever find these posters.

Are they doing to promote the new DVD? If so, it shouldn't have even been set until the monday night before. I'm betting that's when they'll go up in most stores.

*edit* Sorry, I was at work. I hadn't seen the picture yet. Looks like they should be putting up endcap once they get the new wedding items in. Which we haven't yet, of course. :sad:

That's amazing!!! I like the "Equestria" map one the most. too bad last time I went to walmart, nobody there knew what a pony was and when I asked them were the isle was that they stocked them in they said they didn't stock them anymore.  :cry: super cute posters though!!!

Back from Walmart. The pony section except for two brushables, two glimmerwing Rainbow Dashes, and a bunch of the newborns was completely barren.

Looks like I gotta wait. Which I can't because I need that villain and season 2 poster like burning.

Honestly, as a Walmart employee, I can tell you that we don't learn of new displays or sales until the day of or the day before. They really like to keep us in the dark. It's highly annoying  >_<

Ugh, I NEED that Equestria map. Like, I've been hoping for something like that for  ages. Appeals to my love of, especially fictional, maps something fierce. Hope I can find it in stores.

That endcap is super dope, but my Walmart and the other 6 in a 10 mile radius never get these sweet displays.

I checked and they were pretty wiped out in general because of the upcoming mod reset, the only blind bag stuff I found was an empty W1 pdq. I'll have to cross my fingers for now.

so..  my moms in texas at the moment and i asked her if  she was going to wallmart would she check.  and  she was like sure i can swing by wallmart and look for the  posters. though bless her heart not sure what she'll find XD  if she locates them i'll let you guys know.

I never go to walmart, but I would love to give that equestria map to my friends daughter. Her birthday is coming up and I want to have lots of extras for her... I guess I will be going down there later!

I hit the two Walmarts down Greenfield here in Mesa today... NADA!

Tho the Greenfield Walmart JUST south of the 60 did have TONS of the Luna/Celestia Fashion Styles.... Just no endcap... :P

I did find one box of blind bags and got excited for a moment, but they were wave 1 still. Bad walmart! Why are you stocking new wave 1 when other walmarts have wave 3 and 4?

Want these so badly though, I will keep checking! Knowing Maine, we will get them last.

At least you can *FIND* the Blind Bags!

I hit two different Wal-Marts today. No awesome cool end caps. No posters. No Blind Bags at all. The second one I hit did have the FS Princess C. But I already have the Target set with her and Luna.

Walmart in Bangor had the purple Blind Bag wave earlier this week... But the box was empty by the time I got to it. So close!

There is hope! :) Bull Moose Music in Scarborough got Wave 1 for a little while, so they're worth checking out, too. You can just bug 'em on Facebook or something to inquire about stock; they're super helpful.

I happened across one of my area Walmarts today; no display. I hope a lot of stores get it! those posters look great!

I did some pony shopping yesterday and I think Michigan is slow. I had Wal-Mart employees looking at me as if I had lobsters crawling out of my ears when I asked about the My little pony posters.

How hard is it to find pony stuff in this place?!

Heck, I have one Target here with absolutely NO pony stuff.

I need to move lol.

you ponies are lucky! my walmart has so little my little pony stuff I could fit it all in a shopping cart and have room left over! they have no displays or anything, they have them shoved between the strawberry shortcake and littlest pet shop toys.

The only time something is free at Walmart is when they have the sample carts out. Sometimes they give out samples and sometimes coupons. We did get free Oreo cups a couple months back too. Maybe these posters came from something like that?

I found them at my WalMart! My little WalMart that doesn't even sell ponies anymore and told me a few months ago that they had no plans to sell them again.

They had the endcap over by their site-to-store area, not by the rest of the toys. It looked like it wasn't quite set up yet, and the posters were all bundled together in plastic wrap still. I tracked down a very sweet employee, and she, after looking for a price on the unopened posters and finding none, told me that they must be complimentary, and let me take one of each :) I wasn't even buying ponies since I'd already gotten them all.

So yes, the posters do exist and they are actually free. WalMart, you have pleased me. For now :P

Ack I just impulsively bought them off ebay. :drunk: (Not too bad a price though.) I don't think I'm gonna have much time to stalk walmart this week and I'll be gone on vacation for the next few after this. Also the only pony thing I need from walmart right now is blind bags. If they don't have the ones I'm looking for and I have to make a purchase to get the posters I'd just be getting something I don't need. That and back when my husband went to walmart for the release of the Star Wars blue ray it was supposed to come with a promo poster and our walmart said they didn't get any. Decided not to take any chance. These are just too cool.

I think they WILL be located in the toy section. My WalMart's display wasn't technically "out" yet. From the picture on the first page, it looks like a pretty tall thing...but the one I saw was in two pieces set back to back against each other, like it still needed to be moved to the toy section and stacked back up. There's a "site to store" area in the back of the store, and that's where this was located-- in the doorway to that area.

For those who still need to know EXACTLY where they are, they aren't in the isle with the ponies.  Or at least they weren't for me.  Here, they were at the end of the isle in a cardboard stand covered with pony vectors (some from non-wave 1 Blind Bags!) and it said "Pony Time" or "Pony Power" on the side.  The posters were at the side of the cardboard stand.  It was actually kind of impressive for a Walmart! :)

Just got the display in at my Walmart in Rochester, MN!!  It was a pain to set up, but soo worth it!  They are completely free, not even a UPC on them.  I bought the Castle playset though because...well....Shining Armor!  I put together the castle and I am VERY impressed with the detailing on it! And those itty bitty cups!!  They remind me of my G1 playsets with the little cups and ice creams

Lol sounds fine. My local walmart has more in. I listed the ones I have on ebay for a 1.00 with priority shipping. I have as follows:

3 Royal Wedding Posters
1 Map posters (they need a little love, I didn't realize they had some dents and bends =/)
1 Villans
1 Cast.

I have one complete set up too. I can always get more as well. Or should I say I more than likely WILL go back for more.

Just picked up 2 sets at my local Walmart.  They were on the new wedding endcap display with the castle, wedding mane 6, wedding car and FS Luna and Celestias.  They were on the side of the display.  I walked right passed it the first time and noticed some of the posters in a cart first and then turned to see the display.  I really like them.

I went to two nearby Walmarts today. First one (http://www.walmart.com/storeLocator/ca_storefinder_details_short.do?edit_object_id=2552) had nothing, but they were also doing some remodeling/construction. Second Walmart (http://www.walmart.com/storeLocator/ca_storefinder_details_short.do?edit_object_id=5440) had this giant box sitting on a pallet in the middle of the aisle, along with a bunch of other boxed toys an employee was unpacking.

I ask the employee unpacking if they were going to unpack all of those today, they said they were. So I left, went to lunch and a couple other stores. Three hours later I get back and all the little toy boxes are gone but the MLP display box is still sitting there unopened. I ask another employee when they're going to unpack that one. He walks over, looks at it, and then says that it shouldn't be out there until next week. I ask why, if the shipping paper on it says to have it in-store by last week, is it going to sit unopened until next week. He says they're going to be resetting their toy section next week and that's when it goes up. I ask which day next week, and he doesn't know.

So either I'm visiting this Walmart sometime again next week, or one of the other Portland-area ones gets their display up first. This aside, the MLP stock at both these Wal-Marts were really really sparse. No trading cards, no blind bags, maybe 4-5 regular toys each, a Glimmer Wing or two, and the train set.

My local Walmart got the new pony display in the toy area! But they only stocked it with the mane 6, wedding castle,  fashion style Luna and Celestia. And the posters were laying on a shelf, in open boxes, next to the endcap display. There were four different posters, I wasn't too greedy--I only took two of each. No one even bothered to try and ring them up at check out, but I did buy one pony just in case.

The posters are really miniposters. I'm debating if I should hang up one set in my pony room, and either make placemats out of the other set or keep them stored away somewhere for a gift or trade.

Found them tonight! There were cardboard pony power displays on the endcaps with FS Celestia, Luna, the wedding castle, and mane 6 wedding ponies. The posters were in boxes next to the displays, and each box and two of the 4 poster types.

I asked an employee what the promotion was so I wasn't accused of stealing. She had no clue, so she asked two other women in the toy department. One of them said they were free with purchase. The three then wanted to know if I was interested in ponies, and I said that I collected them. They thought that was cool, and one mentioned that they had new stuff to come out soon.

But when my mom went to buy school supplies, I asked the cashier about the posters to just double check. I didn't want any of the ponies they had, so if I needed to buy one, I was planning on ditching the posters. She didn't know, either, and went to ask someone in the toy department. Well, it was one of the two women from earlier. She said, rudely,"I already told you, it's with purchase." I told her, politely, that I had read online that they were just a free promotional item. The lady didn't look happy, but my mom was standing there this time, so she went to find a manager. 20 minutes later, she comes back and tells me to take 'em, because they're free! My sister grabbed a set, too, so off we went!

So I learned two lessons today. 1) it pays to be persistent and stand your ground, and 2) moms make excellent back-up!

I just wish that I, as a young adult, could be taken seriously sometimes. I hate being written off by people just because I'm a teenager. I am not here to steal stuff and be an annoying jerk, I just want to make sure I'm getting the correct promotion and not being ripped off.

lol the lady at my checkout counter left to go find out from someone else.  I bought a fluttershy that I don't need just in case and two poster frames.  btw they fit in the 11x17 poster frames in the Mainstays brand at Walmart if anyone is looking for a cheap way to display these without tacks or that sticky stuff.  I think I paid $3.97 for mine.

They didn't have any at my Walmart yet, but they seemed to be doing a lot more unpacking than usual around 1am, so hopefully they show up soon. The posters are really cool.

I also work at Walmart and only grabbed a handful of each poster to share with fellow fans who cannot seem to find them/aquire them outside of the US. Only charging $3 plus whatever shipping is w/ a tube to keep it pristines without tears or dents. If interested please do let me know. They are quite lovely especially like the Season 2 & Map ones(if you couldn't tell by my icon, lol)

Also, for those wondering you do NOT have to purchase anything to take the posters. If you want to buy a new pony item to go along with them that's just a plus :)

I have a sinking feeling that the ones at my store have been put up and all of the posters are gone already. I took Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday off to deal with my uncle's death.... I know when I go back in on Thursday night, that they're going to be gone. I just know it  :(

The one past Woodland Mall. I've never been to the other one, but I know they are both smaller Walmart, not Supers.

I caved and bought them online for like $10 shipped, I ran around yesterday looking for them and didn't find them I did find other stuff to buy though ie. new MLP/Monster High. I figured buying them for $10 would be cheaper in the long run than going to the store not finding them but well since I am there I may as well check the toy section for anything else I need and it seems I can always find something I need  :P

Well, I have two Wal-marts in my area and one have them and the other doesn't.  I also caved and decided to buy the FS Luna but when I got to the registrar, they couldn't find her in the system.  Apparently, they put out the display but didn't put all of the new merchandise in the system.  I was able to checkout though, once an employe went to check the price on the display.

Yeah, when I set up the display here, the Fashion Style Tia and Luna, and the Wedding mane 6 with the dvds weren't in the system.  Though the basic wedding singles and the castle playset were!  I managed to catch that though and add them to the system as a local item!

Just got it here! I always check the MLP section for new toys when I go to Walmart, so when I went today I was surprised to see they had already put it up. I live in a small town near Albany Georgia so I didn't expect to see it at all, much less this early.

I only bought one toy, Twilight Sparkle, because the other one I have has had her hair cut and styled. I also got two of each poster. I can confirm that the posters are, in fact, free. They have no UPC on them so there's no way they can charge you for them. I just rolled them up and kept them in my hand when I checked out.

Just checked a third Walmart (http://www.walmart.com/storeLocator/ca_storefinder_details_short.do?edit_object_id=2927), and there they were. If you're in the PDX area, it's the Wood Village/Troutdale store. Had to sit on a bus for 45 minutes to get out there, but I guess being out-of-the-way has benefits.

Getting them through the self-serve checkout was a bit more complex than expected. I usually use that aisle anyway where available because it's faster. Individually, the posters are pretty light, but put four of them together in a bag and the system is going to go, "Unrecognized item in bagging area." Had to get around that by scanning a towel I was buying anyway and putting them in the bag at the same time.

They're resetting toys at my store overnight on Sunday into Monday. Not sure if the ponies will be done first though. I'm assuming that's when they'll put up the endcap. My store is always slow to do resets. Even in my department.

I just came back from Wal-Mart. Once I finally found an employee, I asked about the display and she said it probably won't be up until they finish the reset and they were just starting on it and had the little white sheets of paper hanging on the shelves that were otherwise pretty empty. There was just a box of four wave 1 blind bags, the train set and a few Glimmer Wings. She said they'll probably finish it over the weekend, so I'm going to check on Monday. I'm pretty much just looking for the posters, wave 4 (and two more wave 3) blind bags and those bigger plush Wal-Mart has. Otherwise, I have mostly everything new I'm looking for.

I feel so late! I was at wal-mart last weekend and didn't see anything new besides the Spike and RD so soft babies and I was astonished to see the display tonight while walking through. I managed to get a ton of posters...I just rolled them up an took them to check out, told the lady they were "free" and she didn't question or say anything :X so yea.

I got all four yesterday!  The sales associates have no idea what to do with them though.  We asked someone in toys and a manager - they let us take one of each, but then put them away because they weren't sure how they worked - free with purchase?  Just free?

In my two recent trips to my local walmart I was able to get the 12 inch rainbow dash plushie and some of the series 4 blindbags (they are all gone now though)...but no sign of the posters what so ever. :c They had no form of display either.

I found 2 of the 4 posters at one of the Walmarts near me but the cashier did not know they were free and had to find out. The cashier sent someone else to see if they were free and she nearly bent them in the process. Plus I bought the 2 wedding princess fashion styles and the new Wedding DvD and there was a coupon saying if you bought it with a toy you would get $5 off. The cashier said that I need to buy a toy made by Hasbro, I felt like saying hello "My little pony fashion styles are made by hasbro!" She finally gave me the $5 off and the posters for free. I knew I might find some of the posters at this Walmart but I felt let down for some resome. When Walmart gives things away they need to inform their works.

They don't usually do giveaways in toys, which is probably why everyone is so confused. We get them in electronics, but a cashier, toy associate, or even toy department manager usually don't run into this issue, because it just doesn't happen.

Anyways, my toy department is still resetting. They're working on it overnights this week. They're in the process of moving everything right now, but probably won't put anything new out until the end of tomorrow night. I have a feeling that the endcap is going to be one of the last things set. The in-aisle pony section now is TINY! Like two rows across. 8 item spots. That's it.

My Walmart was doing the reset today.. They pretty much moved everything around so I'm not sure where the main pony section is going to be, if they're going to have one at all. Today they just had an end cap filled with the small G4s like Rarity, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy (all with DVDs), as well as some kind of play sets. (I'm not really sure which ones. New to identifying these xD) They also had the posters, kind of on the side of the end cap with nothing saying what they were.

I'm guessing it means their new stock will be on shelves by the next week or two?

I have *no* idea what my Walmart is doing. Last week all the newer ponies were on an endcap (but no posters or display header). Yesterday I'm there, the display is gone and what's left of the newer ponies are mixed in with bicycle things! There's nothing but one butterfly wing pony, and empty BB box and baby RD over on the regular toy isle.

Finally managed to find the posters today. And of course, it was at the one Walmart that's 15 to 20 minutes away from the other ones. Dx And I rarely go to that one, so it was a good thing my friend suggested it.  Me and her each got a full set of the posters, and bought a pony each [just in case].

Also went to another Walmart, and saw the posters there too (they must have just re-stocked them - my buddy said they weren't there when she had checked at 2am that morning), but this one actually had a sign that said " free poster with purchase".

Ugh, my Walmart of course doesn't have them. It's the worst Walmart in the world. If any of you have ever been to the germantown, MD Walmart you know what I mean.

Well anyway, I had a dream last night about finding the posters. At walmart I found a little box underneath the mlp display and  opened it. It was really weird because the posters were rolled up in black plastic bags and came in 3 sizes. I started opening them and then realized they were pictures of hamsters and other animals with the MLP logo on them. I kept trying to collect them all in all 3 sizes but it was impossible. I also noticed it was free with purchase so I bought this mlp giant set that included around 20 squishy ponies a bit bigger than brushables. Then I went back and noticed a SDCC derp.y box under the display. I quickly grabbed it then realized it was a creepy g3.5 baby thing. I threw it back then checked out. The cashier gave me a $15 gift certificate good for mlp sea pony purchases. I was all confused then I woke up. Lol it was kinda funny.

The posters are usually inside a box hanging on either side of the display. I have been to a few stores that did not have the cardboard display, but an entire endcap of shelves was filled with the toys that go inside the display. The posters were hanging off to the side of those shelves or laying on one of the shelves.

applesmack did htey give you any hassle aobut the ripped open bag? i know that  my mom ended up buying about  12 or so  bb poyns that  osmoene had gone through and opend the entire box and elft these.   but htey almost  didint want to sell to her.  and  had to get a manager involved.

ok. becuae  like i siad they almsot did nt want to sell them to her.   did they give you a discount? they  gave her one becuase it was openend.  and half the bags were gone XD  the ponys were just laying in the box and hte bags were  next to the box.

Finally found the posters at my Walmart.  I wish they had more variety in stock but I guess you can't have it your way all the time.

Side note, I bought one of the pony dvd's (the one with over the barrel and the first couple episodes from season 1 on it) and the first episode on there had the audio track and animation were off on it.  I've returned it and will take a look at the new one tonight.  Hopefully it was only that disk and not all them. :)

Well - My Wal-Mart (southeast Georgia) finally got the endcap display/posters in, but I'm glad I erred on the side of caution and picked up a set from someone here, because we only have three of the four posters! I don't know if anyone still needs them or not, but I snagged a few extras just in case - so if you're looking for the map of Equestria, the villains, or the royal wedding, PM me, I'll be happy to send them to you for the cost of shipping + the mailer tube!

Yay!

     I finally found the dang posters @ the Walmart on 14 Mile Road and Van Dyke. They had all four, I grabbed three sets and walked out w/out buying anything. There were tons of each, the stack was like 4 inches thick. The pdq is on the endcap near the restrooms in the back of the store.

     When I checked Chesterfield WM 2 days ago, I found they'd emptied the contents sans posters/pdq on to a poopy little endcap, I almost had a heart attack. So don't go to Chesterfield WM unless you really like FS Luna/Celestia and the mane 6 figures because they've got like 20 of each.

I just got back from Wal-Mart and there still was no endcap display and no posters. I'm guessing my Wal-Mart won't get them, which is disappointing because I knew I could probably buy them from someone on here, but I was being stubborn and didn't want to pay for something that I may have been able to get for free. The one time I was finally patient and it didn't pay off.

Some of the other walmarts we just went to JUST got these displays so they're still coming they had TONS of posters.

I already got mine awhile back when this was first posted but at least they're still coming!  :)

I have two Wal-Marts near my home and only one has the posters. They had a TON of villains and map posters, but I got the only season 2 and they didn't have any wedding posters.

I have three walmarts all within a 20 mile radius. Only one got in the posters, and they didn't have the villains. :(  I have extra of the Equestria map, the wedding, and the season 2 cast.  If anyone wants to trade for a couple of the villians, I'd appreciate it! :)  Just PM me!

Okay so I just came back from a nearby Walmart that stocks the free posters.  It was a nightmare.  I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

When I got to checkout with them, the cashier took them from me and said I couldn't have things for free and assumed I'd stolen part of a display. 

I went to the toys' section and no one was around to help me, so I asked a stocker who was in the area if he knew anything about them.  He sent someone who works in toys my way and I showed the man who works in toys to the display.  He seemed genuinely puzzled and said it was "crazy", then wandered off after saying someone else would help me. 

I waited around near the display for what seemed like an eternity and managed to catch another person who was familiar with the toys section and tried to get her to help me.  She looked at the display, also declared that it was "crazy", and took the posters I was holding and ruined them by whipping them around and denting them in a firm grip as she talked to me and tried to "help" me. 
She said I couldn't just have them and then started making up prices for them so I could buy them.  First she suggested $1.00 each.  I declined from purchasing them from her.  I asked if anyone during the day would be able to help me more with this and she said no.  I pointed out that people had obviously been successfully taking the posters since they were already out of stock of one design and the last remaining copy of another design (my favorite design) was in her hand (ruined by this point).  She then offered to sell them to me for 75 cents each.  I declined again and left the store.

I'm so unhappy. :/  I haven't seen the posters at another Walmart near me and she ruined the only remaining copy of my favorite design right while I was standing there.

My wal mart has a ton of them. I am pretty sure I am the only one that has taken any of them. There is nothing on the side of the display that says anything about them. I want to take more, but everytime I did buy a pony or two and took some they looked at me like I was lieing. I could get a hand full of them if they were not being butts.....

I went to a Wal-Mart today to get a prescription filled, and I found two of the four posters.  The box was stuffed on a low shelf in the Clearance toys section, which seems to confirm the fact that the employees don't know what to do with them.

Anyway, I just took a few and walked out with them rolled up.  Nobody stopped me or anything.  I was feeling really anxious that I would get in trouble for "stealing" something that was free, but I encountered no such trouble.  They only had one bent wedding poster, which I didn't get, and then a bunch of villain and season two posters.

I'm sorry you had so much trouble, Tropical_Sunset.  Maybe go back and ask to speak to a manager?  Surely the manager at least knows what's going on.  I mean, they have no price tags or barcodes, so they are obviously not merchandise.

Oh my goodness! I am so sorry you had such an awful experience.  :hug: I have had quite a few issues with Walmart especially. We definitely go into the store with more information than the employees seem to have, which is somewhat understandable because they are responsible for more than one set of items, but it is still frustrating.

I really do hope that they get them in again and you can pick them up without such a hassle.

Sounds like your not far from me - I'm at the Fort Gratiot store -we've had the posters forever... Quite a few of them are getting trashed because they are being taken out then shoved back in.
The only ponies we have right now are the mane six but we did just get two pdq's of the purple blindbags.

I wish I could say I have extra. Myself I need another season 2 cast poster... I picked one up but it got damaged on a long car ride and so it's rather creased and rumpled. :( It's better than nothing but I wish I had one that wasn't wrinkled.

I'm really sorry you had such a bad time.  I thought I was going to be stopped once but I kept walking with my posters and no one bothered me.  I don't understand they don't bother to stop shoplifters but they detained your free posters.  *hugs*  I have quite a few extras I just don't have any poster tubes.

The department managers do have the ability to price items that are missing barcodes - but to do it for items that are free give-a-ways is unheard of.. We give away posters all the time - we've got a stack of the free avengers posters sitting on the electronics desk at our store right now. But you must have encountered some very rude people - we would never treat people like that in our store! I would have asked to see the store manager right then and there!  Actually I would still call the district manager and complain - nothing gets results faster than going to corporate.

You're not the only one, avene! I go to the same Wal*Mart as you (Yankton, right?) and I got them some time ago. I've grabbed a few sets since my friend in Sioux Falls couldn't find any. I haven't been questioned about them yet... but maybe that's because I go so late at night.

I will try to get some more the next time I'm there and keep them around for those who can't get them.

Now that I think of it there was only one walmart I went to that had a printed sign on the display that said the posters were only free with purchase. However I've also had no problem walking out with piles of posters at my closer walmart.
