Wowza, did this really happen?
« on: March 14, 2024, 07:04:40 PM »
Had a very interesting hour long drive, then a dig through 700 ponies in a very nice grandma's attic (legit, grandpa was the one who collected the ponies!). I left with 105 ponies, a paradise estate with some accessories and a nursery. Mind you, not one new-to-me pony, but finally an opportunity to upgrade within the herd!! Plus, after a long hiatus, I am baaaaaaaaaaaaaack.

Honorable mentions:
2 Cha Cha's - yes, yes, I nearly lost mah cool
Tuneful encased in her bubble
Baby Love Melody
Baby Up Up and Away
So Soft Angel

Alas, I tried to post a picture, but it doesn't seem to want to work from Facebook.... but anywhoo if you want a looksee as I get through stuff...

That’s an awesome haul!

I would’ve been shaking and sweating,

I had something somewhat similar happen to me a few weeks ago - I got three playsets in original boxes (including Paradise Estates) along with accessories and ponies that I also used to upgrade. They were an elderly couple selling their daughter’s collection.

I think it’s awesome that Grandpa collected those ponies and 700 ponies? Cha Cha? Dude, that’s awesome. I want to visit said attic!

Awesome haul!!

I remember an experience like that back in the nineties, when a local collector sold up a collection of around 600 ponies and other bits. I was still in my teens at the time, so I remember parents lending sister and I money to buy all the ponies we needed. We got a lot to trade and also sell on. It was a great, great day :D

It's always amazing to see a sea of ponies waiting to be rifled through...even if they're all doubles or upgrades :D
