Author Topic: Remco Pretty Pets MOCMLP look-alikes** (Read 2190 times)

Hi everyone, I thought this might be of interest to those of you whom like myself have only ever seen loose My Little Pony fakies produced by Remco. I have stumbled across some Remco MOC versions called Pretty Pets which are very bright and colourful with surprise surprise rainbows on them! There are many similarities when compared with My Little Pony packaging artwork, especially the backs in terms of the style of line art. It is pretty cool to see what accessories they came with too, especially the seahorses of which Remco called them Rainbow Floating Water Pets and according to the backcard there was even a penguin called Penny!

It is quite hard when searching online to find much information or specific images if any at all on these particular toys so I thought this might be of interest.

I have the Dear Doe MOC, I will have to dig her up.

That's pretty cool though because I never knew there were Water Pets (Sea Horse).

As you say I have seen these loose before but not MOC very cool! I didnt realise that penguin was technically from the same set as the sea horses...and I am loving the little supports to make the sea ponies stand! I wish HB had included those with baby sea ponies!

I have the doe loose! how short is her 'mane' supposed to be? I always thought she was a llama...

Super cute! I know those sea horses are coveted! How many pretty pets were there? Anyone have a guide/pics of them all? I really liked them as a kid, but only had a few!

I love it when random fakies turn out to have names. Those seaponies are very special. I'm tempted

That's strange how they made the set consist of three seaponies and one penguin though..!

I've just checked and the doe has a tuft of short hair between the ears a bit like a forelock. I think this one is pretty cool but I also noticed on the backcard there was also a zebra released as part of the set!!! I would love to see what she looks like, does anybody have one....?

Weirdly I only ever recall seeing that Zebra once I think but I cant find a picture of her! Hopefully someone can help!
