Pony Corral / Riser Reccomendations Needed!
« on: May 24, 2023, 05:07:40 PM »
Hi pony people!

Finally getting of my butt and moving the girls into a new Billy bookcase soon and I'd like to buy some risers to maximize the space. I have ponies of every gen except G2 (Just haven't bought any yet) and was wondering what my best options are and if certain ones work better with certain size ponies. Toy display risers seem a lot more available these days so I'd love some recommendations.

« on: July 26, 2021, 09:38:09 AM »
I just wanted to join it  :silly: I don't draw ponies as much as I do everything else but I'd like to keep my art contained to a single thread!

I'll only be sharing my pony art here  :) I have links to my twitter and tumblr in my signature, but you can also find me on Deviantart!

I do offer art commissions, and my rates start as low as $15. You must be 18+ and have a paypal in order to commission me, but feel free to DM if you're interested!
(I also do art trades  :P )

To start the thread off, I'll share some art I've been doing for Art Fight! These are all MLP OC's that belong to other people!

Toy Box & Games Cupboard / Shimmercorns
« on: July 26, 2021, 09:08:08 AM »
So I noticed a new line of horse toys popping up alongside the new G5 ponies at Walmart. I saw the tags a few weeks ago but couldn't find much info online but today they finally stocked one of the toys!

I watched a video about them, and the gimmick is that you get marks and stencils and paper and you can draw your own wings for them that can clip over their current wings. I just thought the molds were kind of cute and wanted to share, because if you're hunting for G5 ponies you're going to see these guys around  :)

Arts & Crafts Corral / I drew Izzy!

I don't draw MLP as much I used to and I'm trying to find my "Style" for it again (I always try to balance semi-realism). I've mainly been drawing Sunny but after three pages of drawing Sunny I drew Izzy and I just had to put it on my PC to clean up and digitize. Here she is!

Customs / Where to get hair these days?
« on: June 28, 2021, 09:44:54 AM »
Heyo! It's been a few years since I've been around, even longer since I tried to make a custom. I've seen from a facebook that a new store or two may have popped up in the past few years. I believe the owner of Dollyhair passed also??  (mods delete anything you need to, I'm behind on the drama!)

I just wanted to know where you lovely custom makers prefer to get your nylon hanks these days! Color matching to G1's or otherwise. Totally open to multiple opinions and stores.

As another aside, turns out I have misplaced my extra re-rooting needles. The re-rooting tool I have is a dollyhair one, I'm not sure if I need specific needles for it or if most places offer interchangeable ones. Totally open to just getting a new re-rooting tool as well though.

Introductions / I'm Back!
« on: June 28, 2021, 06:00:06 AM »
Hello everyone! I'm Bekuno, but you can call me Bek! I hope that most of you remember me, but I haven't been around since summer of 2019 (though it feels like a LOT longer). I joined back in 2013 and was even a mod here for a few years! I really enjoyed participating in yearly art swaps and I hope they're still around  :)

For those who don't know me, it's nice to meet you!

Quick Summary:
I'm Becca, I'm 24 and live in Texas with my partner of six years and our cat. I started collecting MLP when G4 came about, I joined the fandom when the second season of FIM started. I was a fan of G3 in my youth as well, but not to such an extreme as I am now (I thought it was too girly back then). I collected a lot of G4 items, and still have about 80% of my collection. I started falling off from buying G4 when the first reboot happened. Not long after G4, I got back into the earlier gens and now collect everything I can find! I prefer to thrift the vast majority of my collection, and have had some interesting finds over the years. One of the main reasons I'm back on the Arena is due to the impending release of G5, which I am obsessed with already.

When I'm not consumed by pony, I spend most of my time drawing. I work part time in retail and part time doing online commissions in the sfw furry fandom (but I draw just about anything). I'm an aspiring writer and a big reader, mainly with young adult and YA animal narrative fiction. I'm also an avid Godzilla fan and collector, and it's the only other series in my life that gets as much attention as MLP, though I am falling back into Care Bears too!

That's all for now though, you'll definitely see me running around being chatty cause I get Pinkie Pie's "nervous-ited" energy easily. I hope I see a lot of new and old faces here!

Pony Corral / "Common Ground" FiM S9 Ep6 Discussion
« on: May 04, 2019, 03:14:42 PM »
I've been waiting for this one! Though I could care less for Quibblepants, I'm a HUGE fan of Patton Oswalt! I've watched a lot of his stand-up and interviews and such about the loss of his wife, which I know this episode kinda touches on. Hoping for a good one.

Official Synopsis:
"Rainbow Dash's old pal Quibble Pants needs help to bond with the daughter of his new special friend because, like Dash, she's a real sports pony."

Detailed Summary:

We open up with an retro voice over sports announcement montage about Buckball! It seems this sport has really taken Equestria by storm. The Buckball Hall of Fame has been built in Appleoosa (guess we've had quite a growth there!) and it's first inductees are the ponyville team consisting os Fluttershy, Pinkie, & Snails. We zoom out to reveal the team and many other ponies are actually watching this video in a theater at the Hall of Fame.

Team Ponyville is met with a lot of excited fans! Snips works out an autograph deal for Snails in order to earn bits. While he's busy doing so, Fluttershy, Pinkie, and Dash watch another team practice. They are in Appleoosa for a big Buckball tournament, and need to get to practice soon. Dashie has been tasked by Applejack to visit all the exhibits, meaning she'll be a bit late to cheer on her team. Pinkie points out there's already a line for the museum opening, but the only person in that line is Quibble Pants, who is camping out much to Dash's surprise. He tries to claim he is a huge fan of the sport, but it's obvious his knowledge is actually quite limited. Before she can question much further, two ponies make an appearance. Clear Sky, Quibble's new girlfriend, and her daughter, Wind Sprint. While it's very obvious Clear Sky and Quibble are quite in love, Wind Sprint appears quite a bit more disconnected (though Quibbles shows her honest affection as well). As Quibble nervously rambles about what exhibit he wants to see, Wind makes it very clear she'd rather be in the stadium right now. Clear Sky is not having it however, and drags her daughter back just as the museum doors open.

Dash tries to cheer Wind up but she is still uninterested. Quibble suggests the group split up so he can have some time to catch up with Dash, and Wind quickly scampers away from them. Quibble hides with Rainbow Dash to explain that he really loves Clear Sky but knows nothing about Buckball or sports in general, which is trying to learn to impress Wind Sprint. Wind Sprints biological father was a big athelete, and she has taken on his love of sports. Quibble is terrified that his relationship with Clear Sky won't work out of Wind Sprint dislikes him, as he is trying to respect their family. He was hoping to convince Wind that he was a huge buckball fan to try and create a way for the two to bond, but his lack of understanding the sport really shows. After falling on his rear when Dash attempts to practice with him, he begs her to talk him up to Wind to try and impress her. Dash obliges and goes over to talk to Wind, introducing herself as a wonderbolt and buckball player before Wind recognizes her. She tries to tell her that Quibble Pants is a pretty great athlete just like her father was, but she remains unconvinced due to his clumsiness. We do a quick scene swap to the gift shop of the museum and the group prepares to leave for the stadium. Quibble stops to hand Wind Sprint a surprise gift, a copy of the Buckball Almanac, which she in unimpressed by. Clear Sky reminds him that while the trip and gift are thoughtful, he doesn't need to try so hard. Sky and Wind Sprint head to the stadium while Quibble laments to Dash that wind will never like him. Dash says all they need to do is find his sporty side, which she swears to bring out by the end of the trip.

Quibble thinks the idea is impossible, and Dash jokingly suggests he just be him self and bond with her over comics and rpgs. He quips that he has 17 Charisma but it's not enough (LOL) and that Wind doesn't even like Daring Do to the complete shock of Dash. She shoos him off to a small training field and explains they just need to find out what he's good at. It could be speed, strength, agility, or just everything! They start by passing the ball very slowly back and forth to each other, but he even messes that up. Next is a short race against Snips, but he barely moves an inch in the time it takes Snips to cross the line. Strength is the last attempt, where he struggles to even hold up two tiny books. Dash says she could improve him at least a little if they had time, but Quibbles is wanting the problem solved immediately. The loud cheering from the stadium distracts the pair but gives Dash an idea.

Inside the stadium, Team Ponyville is blowing the competition away. Wind Sprint is cheering them on when Quibble finally shows up to join the two. Sky asks him where he's been, and Quibble informs them that he's been making arrangements for the three to meet with Team Ponyville. Wind brightens up immediately at the idea but Sky seems more concerned, and reminds him once again that he seems to be trying to hard as Dash walks them out onto the field. Dash talks him saying, saying that Quibble is a big sports fan because he knows Wonderbolts and Buckball players. Fluttershy and Pinkie are very excited to me Quibble Pants, having heard of him from Dash previously. Unfortunately, they bring up some of his more negative traits, making the situation a bit awkward. Wind grumbles that being a fan isn't the same as being an athlete, and turns her attention to Team Ponyville, asking what it's like to plan in front of so many people. Dash interrupts however, to announce that Quibble and Wind are going to be playing against Team Ponyville during half-time. Oh no!

After commercial we cut to a bit of practice on the field before halftime. Snails is joining Quibble and Wind to complete the team. Wind Sprint is showing off her perfect athletic ability while Quibble just stands their awkwardly, completely unprepared. He panics to Dash that he idea is TERRIBLE, he is going to make a fool of himself! Fortunately Dash thought of that, and she informed Pinkie and Fluttershy that they're going to need to take it easy on him to help impress Wind. The announcer comes over the speakers to announce it's time to start! On first ball, Quibble freezes up so Pinkie sticks his leg out to buck for him, but it goes in the ponyville net, oops. Second ball, Wind ends up with the opportunity to either pass to Quibble or make the shot herself. Fluttershy laments that Quibble is wide open, so Wind tosses the ball to him, but he completely misses the kick. Third ball, Wind throws high to Quibble who makes a kick and actually lands it! Unfortunately, the ball ends up in the ponyville goal, again. With three points, Team Ponyville wins. Quibble brings out the almanac and argues with the coach that a team scores a point when a ball is kicked by an earth pony into a basket but the rule book doesn't specify WHICH basket. Dash politely informs him that even so, it's obvious how the scoring works. Quibble tries to push again but this time Wind interrupts, exclaiming that it doesn't matter because Quibble isn't a sports-pony and she isn't having fun before running off the field. Clear Sky is very upset, and even though Quibble had good intentions, she says they need to rethink things.

Quibble Pants is sitting alone outside the stadium reading through the almanac when Dash walks up and commends him for scoring a goal, even if it was for the wrong team. He isn't having it however, but Dash doesn't want to give up. After more lamenting, Dash slyly mentions that he should stop trying to pretend and should seek out a different pony to learn about sports. Back in the museum, Sky and Wind are discussing the events. Wind says she doesn't like the trip, or Quibble for that matter, and asks her mom why she does. Sky says she likes him because he's kind, smart, and has good friends. Wind says it doesn't matter, because no amount of ponies caring will make her forget about her dad. Sky gently lets her know that even though Quibble might be trying to hard, he isn't trying to replace her dad, and Wind might have room for both ponies in her life. Quibble comes in and apologizes, admits he's not sporty, and asks if they can watch the tournament together and have Wind explain buckball to him instead. Though it takes a little encouragement from Sky, she agrees. Together he and Wind watch the tournament and Quibbles reveals he's actually learned a little from reading that almanac he purchased, impressing Wind. She realizes that the book is pretty cool after all, and digs her nose in as Quibble turns to talk to Sky. Quibble apologizes again, thinking Sky still wants to end the relationship, but points out that he and Wind just made a connection! Sky explains that she wasn't going to call it quits, and just wanted them to rethink having Rainbow Dash exaggerate and lie for him. Dash and Quibble both try to pretend they don't know what she means before they are interrupted by Wind coming over to show Sky something from the book. Sky is impressed and comments that maybe books aren't so bad and that Quibble didn't need all those silly things to bond with Wind. Dash points out that he did need to buy that book though, and they all share a laugh as the episode ends.

-----------

Oh, this was actually pretty good! I really like the designs they did for Sky and Wind, and Oswalts daughter did a pretty good job voice acting. I am probably a little biased, again because I just love Oswalt and know the story and why this episode was the way it was. I think it was handled pretty well overall, and is one of the better episodes so far.

Pony Corral / "The Point of No Return" FiM S9 Ep5 Discussion
« on: April 29, 2019, 09:44:38 AM »
Well, I was kinda hoping someone else would post the discussion since I was gone all weekend but here it is anyway.

Official Synopsis:
"Twilight realizes she never returned a book to the Canterlot Library and may have caused her favorite librarian to lose her job."

Episode Summary:
Our favorite clumsy mailman, Muffin, comes to the School of Friendship to deliver a big box to Twilight. Turns out Twilight had left a few things behind when she moved from Canterlot to Ponyville, so Celestia has kindly mailed them to her. Among the box of interesting objects (notably a "G1 Starswirl figure") is a book that Twilight never returned to the Canterlot library. Now it's way overdue!

Twilight laments that she has (or had) a perfect library record. So perfect she has a giant portrait of herself in the library. We get a flashback to the pilot episode to see how the book got lost (slipped under a desk). So now Twilight is determined to return the overdue book, and heads to Canterlot. After some sneaking around they make it inside and she is recognized immediately by the current librarian. She finds out that her favorite librarian, Dusty Pages, is no longer working there. They return the book anyway, and it turns out it has been overdue for so long that Twilight has to visit "The Grossly Overdue Book Return Office for Ponies Who Should Know Better" in the basement. Unfortunately, First Folio is at lunch and they can't return the book. So they head off to Restaurant Row to find her and run into Moondancer, who happens to be having lunch with First Folio. Twilight informs them she is actually looking for Dusty Pages, but she left moons ago. According to First Folio, she had been forced to leave after her perfect record was ruined by an un-returned library book. Twilight is horrified, believing it's all her fault.

Twilight rushes out of the library and heads to Dusty Pages home, hoping it will get her favorite librarian her job back. When they get to her home they find out she has moved. The current resident gives her a hint on where to go but doesn't know the exact address, so he gives Twilight a giant bag of mail and kicks her out the door. We have a little montage of Twilight trying to find the "Silver Something" that Dusty Pages now lives at. Turns out they were looking for a retirement home, "Silver Stables". Twilight thinks the place looks miserable and bookless. She asks the receptionist about Dusty Pages and is directed to her apartment, but Dusty is currently gone. Twilight begins asking around, determined to find her as quickly as possible. Turns out Dusty is pretty busy with activities like painting, band practice, and theater. We get another montage of Twilight being lead all over the retirement community trying to find Dusty. Finally they find her at band practice, rocking out on an acoustic guitar. Twilight rudely interrupts, still thinking Dusty is miserable. Dusty is very surprised to see her and thanks her for bringing the mail. Twilight apologizes to her, which she doesn't understand, and reveals it was her that never returned the library book that broke Dusty's perfect record. Twilight offers her the book to return but Dusty refuses and angrily heads off with her mail.

Twilight doesn't understand why Dusty won't return to the library, and her late fee is growing with every second she wastes. Dusty's aggression caught Twilight off guard, and Spike has to coax her into finding her again to figure out what really happened. This leads them to interrupting a "Squish Food Fight Tournament" that Dusty was spectating from up a tree. Twilight asks for another chance to talk and Dusty accepts, seeing how serious Twilight is. The princess apologizes once more and says she's determined to do anything to make it up to her, even if it means never checking out a book again. Dusty laughs, she had never been upset with Twilight at all. Dusty had been suffering under the idea of perfection, so when Twilight never returned her book it made her realize how much unnecessary pressure she had put on herself, and she left on her own. Being away from the library and the idea of being perfect has given her plenty of opportunities to learn new things and enjoy them no matter if she "fails" or not.

The book is accidentally damaged when fruit is thrown at it. Now it will be stained, but otherwise okay. Dusty stops and asks if Twilight had ever even read the book, and she embarrassingly reveals she hadn't. She wipes away the gunk to reveal the title of the book "Perfection: The Impossible Pursuit". Dusty and Spike laugh at the irony.

Twilight and Spike return to the library and meet with First Folio to finally return the book and face the massive late fee. Turns out, the late fee caps at a month, meaning Twilight only owes the library 28 bits. Unfortunately, her "Perfect Book Borrower" portrait will have to be removed. After a begrudging acceptance, Twilight is given permission to take the book home (the copy had already been replaced long ago) as a reminder of the experience.

Another Twilight being Twilight episode. Don't make assumptions, and remember that mistakes happen.

Pony Corral / "Twilight's Seven" Friendship Is Magic S9 Ep4 Discussion
« on: April 20, 2019, 09:31:40 AM »
 :cheer: 200 Episodes!  :cheer:

Woo! Cannot believe FIM has made it this far. I can't wait to see this one, as it's aparently a mash up of things the voice actors always wanted to do on the show. Pretty interesting idea! I personally really loved the 100th episode celebration, so I'm down for more fun.

Official Synopsis:
"Twilight and Shining Armor Pit their wits against each other to settle a long-standing sibling rivalry, but they soon discover they are not the only competitors."

Episode Summary:
The episode opens with Spike interrupting Twilight & Starlight's paperwork with an exciting letter! It's an invitation from Shining Armor for a sibling rivalry competition. Through flashbacks, we see the more competitive side of Twilight and Shining Armor growing up, and how they would try and outdo each other in all kinds of fun events. Shining Armor has decided it's time to crown the winner for the last time!

Twilight and Spike rush to meet Shining Armor at Celestia & Luna's castle, where Shining Armor is wearing the crown (having been the last winner before the two grew up and moved out). Turns out, Celestia and Luna have decided they need better defense since Sombra's return and attack. They've brought Shining Armor back to build a new defense system, and Twilight is to be the guinea pig, tasked with breaking into the castle and stealing the Supreme Sibling crown. If she wins, she gets to be the Supreme Sibling Foreverrrr. Shining Armor explains that he has used pieces of Crystalis' throne and some of Starswirls magic to prevent any use of spells in the tower. It also cannot be flown to or reached from underground, and guards are placed in every hall. If the throne room is reached, they will have to avoid the Geese blowing their cover. Twilight returns to her own castle and lets the rest of the Mane 6 know what's going on and begin to plan their strategy. Except... Shining Armor knows exactly how Twilight works and spoils her plans. So instead, Rarity decides to plan!

We cut to a film noir style scene of Rarity and Rainbow Dash interrogating a bar tender to find an entrance. Pinkie thinks they should... go to space? Applejack decides to bring out her country star alter ego, Applecore, to distract the guards with a concert. Fluttershy and Spike plan to become super secret special agents. And Twilight? Well, she can't be involved at all!

No it's time to test these wild ideas. The guards are posed and ready, and here come Appleja- uh, Applecore, with her stage. Pinkie, Spike, and Fluttershy are in the hot air balloon with Rainbow Dash right behind. After Shining Armor and Twilight have a suspicious engagement, the hot air balloon come crashing down, with only Pinkie in it. It distracted the guards enough for applejack to steal a gem from one of the guard uniforms using a plunger device. Pinkie Pie didn't make it to space, sad. Rarity and Rainbow Dash head to the club, only to find it closed! Now who do they interrogate?? Oh, well, the gentlecolt outside will do. He points them to a sealed off and guarded secret entrance. And what's this? Guard change time! Now.... Zephyr Breeze is guarding. Rarity send out a dolled up Rainbow Dash to distract him so she can tear down the bricks. Once Rarity is finished she signals for Rainbow Dash to hurry and join her, and Dash easily gets away while Zephyr is boasting his ego up higher. Spike and Fluttershy are outside the thrown room, and Spike cuts a hole in the stained glass so they can get in. Unfortunately they still set off the guard Geese, but fall through a trap door so they aren't seen. Luna thinks it a false alarm and goes to alert Celestia about it. Twilight begins to worry that things aren't going well.

Fluttershy and Spike are stuck in the little dungeon below the throne room and lament to each other. Fluttershy explains her claustrophobia and Spike reveals that he loved being a part of Twilight & Shining Armor's competitions but he was never seen as a little brother to them like he wanted. Fluttershy reminds him that sibling dynamics are complicated, but Spike still matters to them. Suddenly, a door opens, and Rarity and Rainbow Dash are revealed inside the secret tunnels. Turns out Rainbow Dash likes pulling on levers. The four group up and decide they need to reevaluate their plans. The Mane 6 all reconven and Spike decides that Twilight should make the plan in the end. Twilight thanks him, and Spike tries to pull the "little brother" card, only to be ignored completely by Twilight, ouch.

This time, a giant party is used to distract the guards. While Rarity, now in a guard outfit, is able to get into the castle using the magic gems on the uniform. Rainbow Dash, able to outmaneuver the turbines, carries Fluttershy with her as they traverse the other areas. Zephy seems to already have lost his new job after the hole was discovered. Twilight brings Applejack to some boulders to buck through instead (with the help of Maud to give exact placement of the blows) and return underground. Inside the castle, Rarity lets another guard know it's shift change time, allowing her to take the spot outside the throne room. She opens a window so Dash and Fluttershy can make it inside. The three enter the hallway to the throne room and the geese are immediately set off, but Fluttershy calms them with the promise of a massage. Applejack, Twilight, and Spike are underground with a map, and open a secret wall to into the throne room where the whole group meets up again (including pinkie... somehow). Twilight is ready to get her crown, only for Shining Armor and the princesses to come out of hiding and inform her she has lost. But what's this? That's not the real crown! Spike had the real crown all this time, having used Luna's annoyance at the start of the episode to his advantage, so she would distract her sister and Shining Armor and side with Twilight.

Twilight and Shining Armor decide that the crown should go to Spike, their little brother.

-----

Updated! Finally watched it hahaha. I went in blind so I had no idea what to expect. It didn't really feel like a special episode like the 100th episode did, so that caught me off guard. I loved the tension between Celestia and Luna (holding out for one last episode about them this season... pleaseeeee?). I didn't even expect the twist at the end. It was nice of them to finally acknowledge Spike and the little brother issue. Not too bad, but not really what I was hoping for!

Pony Corral / "Uprooted" Friendship Is Magic S9 Ep3 Discussion
« on: April 13, 2019, 09:04:12 AM »
Jumping right back in with a new episode! We return to the adventures of the six students in this one.

Official synopsis: "The Young Six respond to a magical summons from the Tree of Harmony, only to learn it has been destroyed."

Episode Summary:

We open up following the events of the season opener. The young six are experiencing joint nightmares, only to be brought together by a mirage in the form of Twilight Sparkle calling them to the Tree of Harmony.

They rush to the school to meet Twilight, who informs them Sombra destroyed the Tree. The group has become quite fearless after the Season 8 finale, and head to Everfree Forest themselves to see the tree. They attempt to revive the tree with friendship, to no avail, and decide instead they need to honor the Tree's life. Thorax and Twilight descend upon the group, searching for Ocellus who left without warning. The young six are prepared to go on an adventure, but require permission slips to do so, so they return to their homes to obtain them. They return to find Sandbar has cleared out the remains of the Tree of Harmony to make way for a memorial, and has planted a new tree, but it's not the same.

The rest of the group is very upset Sandbar cleaned up the cave, wanting it to stay as it was. They begin to argue over how to memorialize the tree, each having different ideas they feel strongly about. Yoona tries to get them to get along, but it fails. Sandbar continues to watch over the new sapling. Gallus tries turning the cave into a sideshow attraction/museum. Smolder works on a memorial statue. Silverstream paints abstract paintings inside the cave. Ocellus makes a positive meditation spot. All their ideas start to corrupt and damage each other's hard work, ultimately stopping with Smolder brings in her tree sculpture. It nearly crushes Sandbar before rolling to the back of the cave.

The young six continue to argue until Yoona interrupts. She reminds them the Tree of Harmony, while physically gone, is still within them, and in their friendship. Yoona decides to use the cleaned up pieces of the Tree to build something new. The group sings a new song while they build a large treehouse out of the pieces of the tree and the objects they brought for their own memorials. It doesn't come out quite as planned, but the group agrees it has all the parts of them in it. While exploring the new tree house, a magical surge begins. The Tree of Harmony begins to shift and form into a larger and more intricate treehouse structure that reaches above the cave. The Tree's spirit, once again in the form of Twilight, informs the group that thanks to their selfless love and actions, the Tree of Harmony was reborn and reformed once more.

---------------------------------

(will come back and update of I missed anything, my stream cut out at the very end)

So, we got out first young Six episode and first new song of the season! I'm really curious to see what's going to happen with these kids at the end of the series. I personally enjoyed the song and the new design the Tree of Harmony has taken on.

Pony Corral / "The Beginning of the End" S9 Ep 1 & 2 Discussion
« on: April 06, 2019, 09:53:16 AM »
Well here we go folks, after nearly 9 years we've reached the end. The aptly titled "beginning of the end" has aired.

Spoilers & recap ahead!

Episode 1:
Twilight & Co are summoned to Canterlot Castle to meet with Luna and Celestia, who announce they are ready to retire and want Twilight to take the helm as new ruler of Equestria. Meanwhile, Lord Tirek and Cozy Glow are ripped from their cages in Tartarus and brought to a strange location along with Queen Chrysalis and King Sombra. Grogar, one of the infamous villains of G1, has brought these villians together to take down Equestria once and for all. Sombra, however, wishes to take matters into his own hands instead of working as a team. He quickly takes down the Crystal Empire, trapping Shining Armor, Cadence, & Flurry Heart while possessing the crystal ponies to do his bidding. But just as quickly as he reclaimed his home, he loses it once more to the Mane 6, who have arrived with the elements of harmony to banish him back to the ether once more. Though seemingly defeated, it turns out Somba is not yet done for, and his dark crystals begin popping up and he completely shatters the Tree of Harmony & it's Elements.

Episode 2:
Quickly picking up from the first Episode, Sombra has captured the Mane 6. Assuming they are out of the way, he moves on with the next part of his plan. Who needs the Crystal Empire when you can take all of Equestria now? Despite his magic-blocking crystals, the Mane 6 escape their prison quickly by digging underneath is. They quickly rush to ponyville, only to find all theirs friends and loved ones under Sombra's control and quickly marching towards canterlot. What's worse, the Everfree Forest has come to life once more without the Tree of Harmony to control it, and is growing into ponyville. The Mane 6 put up a strong front against the Forest but it is growing too quickly. Luckily, Celestia and Luna arrive in time to fight back. Starswirl also appears, summoned by the collapse of the Tree of Harmony. The three of them band together to fight off the Everfree Forest while the Mane 6 head to Canterlot, where Sombra has already taken up throne due to the Princesses absence. Discord assists the ponies, reflecting all of Sombra's spells, but ends up hit by a beam. After the ponies quickly mourn over Discord, they band together, holding hooves, and remind each other they don't need the elements. After all, the real magic is their Friendship, and it can defeat anything. Together they defeat Sombra once more, freeing the mind controlled ponies and removing the dark crystals from Equestria. Celestia & Luna return and apologize to Twilight for not giving her more time and acting rashly, and it is revealed Discord was just faking, as Discord does. But Sombra was only the first threat, and Grogar and the others are still planning to strike...

Gotta say, it's nice to see Sombra, one of the weakest villains in the show, get some proper screen time and dialogue. Also, having Grogar combines the G1 & G4 canon, and some of his speech seems to imply G1 is more canon than we think. I believe Gusty was even mentioned, but my stream cut out and I missed the exact dialogue. Oh, and Twilight seems to be fully willing to give Starlight control of the School & her Castle when she becomes ruler.

I'm really excited to see what exactly will happen this season. I'm sad to see FIM, it's been a big part of my life, but I can't wait to see how it all ends.

It's Toy Fair time yall! And with it comes announcements.

Now the idea of a 2nd MLP:FiM movie came about after the G4/G5 leaks last year, but we do have official confirmation.

It will be released in 2021, and will be CGI of course. This is a full length film.

Spotted on facebook today, looks like Build A Bear is still going with ponies! Cheerlie has showed up, apparently on Amazon UK? At least according to EQD.

Here's a picture though  :)

EDIT: She is available to purchase online now.

Pony Brag Arena / Little thrifty brag!

I did some early morning thrifting after work today and found a few things! Just wanted to share and also wish some pony luck upon others!

The seapony pinkie, songbird plush, and latchkits set came from a place called Dirt Cheap.

I'm not sure if any other collectors have them in their area but I love visiting mine! It's a store that sells overstock, damaged/salvaged goods, and returns from retail stores for 30% - 60% off the retail value. I love going to check for G4 MLP items, and I always find at least something.

Pinkie pie seems fine aside from heavy box damage but Songbird is in bad shape. She's very dirty and has a giant hole in her back that needs sewing. It'll be fixing her up! I left behind a large seapony pinkie.

That adorable Simba came from a resale shop that supports veterans. I had to get him due to him being an older disney store plush! I also found a popple bank, but since it was a bank and not a plush I left it behind. It led to me talking a bit with a worker about my pony collection, and she told me to check by regularly because they get a lot sometimes. I have found ponies there before, but I guess I should check more often!

Thanks for looking! first brag in a long time, but I don't pick up as many ponies these days.

Pony Corral / Have you read the Daring Do books?
« on: May 17, 2018, 10:17:15 AM »
Just curious if anyone has these or has read them!

I was digging through the kids books at a local thrift store and found a copy of Daring Do and the Marked Theif of Marapore.

$0.90 for a book currently retailing for $9.99? Not going to pass that up! I plan to read it on my road trip this weekend. I've read some other FIM chapter books so I'm excited :)
