Title: Hello from a new member
Post by: FernMariposa919 on November 20, 2019, 12:18:54 PM: Hello, everyone, my name is Sara and I am thinking about collecting MLPs! I just don't know where to start so that's why I joined this forum.

I grew up in the '80s and MLPs were my favorite toy. It all started in 1984 when I got the Show Stable with Lemon Drop, Apple Jack, Bow Tie, and Cotton Candy for Christmas. I still have all my childhood ponies (except for four which I gave away with all my pony play sets (yeah, that hurt!) But I wouldn't let my mom get rid of the majority of my ponies!

In first grade I dressed up as Baby Moondancer for Halloween and in second grade I dressed up as Megan, who was my idol because I wished I could live with the ponies too.

I also binged the first eight season of FIM on Netflix in the last couple months...just need to watch that last season. My favorite character on that show is Fluttershy.

If I had to choose, my favorite pony is Fizzy. I got her for my sixth birthday and my seventh birthday cake had a picture of her standing in front of a rainbow. I've always just loved her colors and who doesn't like ice cream floats?

Sad to hear about your playsets but well done on insisting on keeping most of your ponies!

The fun thing about collecting is that you can start wherever you want. Literally.
If you see a pony you like you can get that one and then as you discover more of them you can acquire those too.
Many collectors have started by getting a few that they loved at first sight and then completing those sets.
Others have started with the first 6 and moving on by year.
It's to each their own as long as you enjoy and have fun!

I too wished that I could have lived with the ponies - you were not alone in having those wishes.
