Anyone know what type of plant this is?
« on: September 16, 2015, 08:47:13 AM »
I bought this yesterday but I have no idea what it is or how to take care of it. If anyone know what it is I will hopefully be able to look up how often I should water it and so on. I also need to know if it's poisonus 'cause I have two cats.

I don't know the name of it offhand.

Looks like it can be shaped into a mini bonsai tree though <3

Could it be an olive tree? :wonder:

Judging on the foliage I'm pretty sure it is an olive tree.

I'd be willing to go with olive too, usuallyleaves are more silver but maybe this bonsai hasn't had much sun... no sure about cats.

Also I advise taking the glued rock lay off them you can get them off with careful prying. The rocks are bad for them.

I also think it looks like olive. Not 100% sure though! I agree about the glued rocks though!

It might be an olive but like someone else said they tend to have a more silvery color to their leaves. The way the leaves are growing also looks a little off to be an olive but it could also be fairly young.

My first thought was that it's a jade or some other sort of succulent but the leaves look too thin.

It's a tree. That's about all I can tell you. XD

Would it be possible to ask the person/shop you bought it from?

Could this be it?
http://www.bonsaioutlet.com/podocarpus-bonsai-care/

If so, I did a search on the ASPCA's website and they have it listed a being toxic to kitties:
