I think the bakery set isn't a TRU exclusive. Sure it's a little hard to find, but well, I found mine at Jusco :3

Ditto for the collector blind bags set- Jusco has them in spades.

They've been available in Malaysia for a while now, although they're kinda rare. Seems that only some Parksons, TRU and Jusco has them, and even then only have one or at most two in the shelves at one given time, in contrast to entire shelves filled with Fluttershies and Rainbow Dashes.

Well, I have one sitting on my computer desk at home. She's not really that big, it's the box that's big. Herself is no bigger than an 11" Funrise MLP plush.

She costs around RM199 over here. Available at most Jusco and TRU outlets (but strangely not Parkson or Isetan. Haven't checked MetroJaya or Robinsons).

Thankfully, I have a bunch of Jusco discount coupons. Couple that with a 10% for Jusco member card holders and I brought her home for only RM40.

She's huge, but not that huge. Only a little over one feet tall.

I love how she talks tho. Just wish she wasn't covered in so much glitter so I can hug her!

Aunt just got off the phone with Hasbro Malaysia.

Apparently the Pinkie Pie's Boutique sets will only be available in Singapore and Hong Kong where Asia is concerned :(

Why am I still doing this after I bluntly said that I have stopped collecting? Well, long story...

Gimp all the way for me. Used to use Photoshop a lot, but then I got interested in Linux and started playing with The Gimp. Then I found out you can have Gimp running on PCs and Macs as well. So all my computers has it, even my Mac.

Pony Corral / Re: Do You Upload Your Pony Photos to Flickr?
« on: June 09, 2013, 07:34:24 PM »
Well, earlier ones and certain pics, yes.

Lovesbabysquirmy- this is the exact reason why all the pictures on my Flickr page is friends only. You can set up Flickr to show only certain uploads (or the entire Flickr account) only to certain people- for example, only people who you're friends with on Flickr (i.e. they're on your Flickr friends list) and even then the Friends list can be divided into friends and family members, so that's three layers of security right there.

In my case, all my pictures are only visible to people on my Flickr friends list, or those I issue a guest pass. Anyone else looking at it will see my account as empty.

Well, as I mentioned before, I'm more or less done with collecting.

I should probably mention that there is a second reason: Some nutcase claimed that he's going to marry Twilight Sparkle. Now, to me, this is a repeat of "The Stanman Incident" you've probably heard me mention so much about but refuse to elaborate, except that the previous case was with regards to Bijou and some nutcase named Stanman. Firstly, my experience with The Stanman Incident shows that I am powerless against people like him. Secondly, well, the local environment has become hostile- the government banned Erykah Badu over a stupid little temporary tattoo in the name of their religion. What's to say that they won't ban MLP because "Lusting another man's wife is bad" in the same sadistic name if they should find out about this incident? That nutcase was going to have papers signed and all. Hence the decision to stop thenforth before things go completely out of hand.

Erm, "MLP Tales" is just G1.
Well, I think Tales being 1.5 should be correct. No major change to the pony designs themselves, but a full overhaul on the pony's universe.

But more than anything, I wish it would get an R1 release! I want a good quality dvd of it so bad!
Have you considered getting the R4 releases and a region-free DVD player?

I think the show wasn't really cancelled - it had t least one season out. What I think happened was poor marketing. From what I understand, the show was not properly aired in the US (being screwed by Disney by being put into a death slot), and even the Tales toys wasn't sold in the US from what I understand. That, and that the show came at the time that Hasbro decided to redesign the ponies and give us G2, pretty much sealed the demise of Tales.

Well, the answer for me is trivial.

Attempting to sync the toyline to FIM.

I have lost all respect for FIM after they listened to the bronies, derailed and inserted more villains and shifting away from slice-of-life from season 2 on. It doesn't work for me, but I was willing to still collect the toys. Now they want to release the villains in toy form as well. I'm sorry, but no. I stand by my word that if the villains are introduced to the toys, I stop collecting. It's a tough decision, but the entire franchise no longer fits my principles anymore.

Well, after seeing why they've added, I've deleted the game from both my iPads. So yeah, you guys can stop adding me now.

Sorry. The new content offends me.

Monopolies do not make good business sense.
Thing is, we do have a few competing providers. Except that the stuck-up provider seems to be the biggest, widest reaching (they themselves have a monopoly on satellite Pay television- the other competitors here are all fiber-optics, cable or Internet-based with much more restricted coverage, due to "protection" of satellite pay TV granted by the government to said stuck up company) and they seem to have gotten the license to several channels but instead of airing the channel they're sitting on it. However I could be wrong about them having the license to Boomerang part tho.

Several other possibilities on why Boomerang isn't available in Malaysia:
1. The license could instead be with a now dead provider who refuses to release the license even though they have ceased operating, and because of the pro-monopoly law all the other providers cannot air the show even though the current provider that's holding the license is technically dead.
2. Time-Warner had been reluctant to hand out new rights to the channel because they were planning to shut down Boomerang operations in Asia. Word has it that Boomerang was replaced by Toonami in several countries in Asia recently - notably, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.

Actually Hasbro no longer has the toy license for SSC. Now a company called Bridge Direct (the same ones making those Pinkie Cooper dog dolls) has it and should start selling the new dolls next year. Glad they didn't give it back to Bandai cause those dolls had some cheap hair that is actually starting to fall out.
Interesting- I've never heard of this Bridge Direct people. Still, I guess their toys wouldn't sell because the show hasn't been available in Malaysia since the rights went to Boomerang.

but with the bronies and their often unreasonable demands? It may look like more trouble than it's worth, and then the show would cease to exist.
Well, to be honest, I'd rather the show cease to exist. It's no longer a show I want to watch.
