I draw ponies!

BriarBlue:
Hi all! Thought I'd share some of my art here. I'm getting back into drawing ponies, and it's been a lot of fun  I have yet to settle on a single consistent style since there are just so many fun ways to draw a cute horse, but I'll get there eventually-- maybe!

Hope I'm doing this right lol. Would love to hear what you all think  I'm always looking to improve!

Wow, these are amazing! So much eye candy. I absolutely love the Star Catcher x Morning Glory pony, I can't get my eyes off those gorgeous tropical colours! And your ponysona has such a pretty design, so soft and dreamy.

Some words of critique since you asked for tips to improve :) I very much enjoy seeing how you've been exploring different styles in these, the artwork definitely reflects your joy. :lovey: If you wish to take your art to the next level, I would pay attention to anatomy and perspective. Especially the shoulder, elbow & barrel area is something that can be more challenging to pin down in certain poses or angles. In my opinion it's a good idea to follow the general principles of horse anatomy when drawing ponies in order to make them look natural, even when heavily stylised. I know that in official MLP art (and the FiM show in particular) these rules are sometimes broken and that's fine, too, if a more human-like expression is desired. Anyway, I find that using basic shapes when sketching helps to avoid anatomical issues (and I still often get it wrong and realise it too late, haha :D ). But I think it's wonderful that you're trying out different things, dynamic poses and more unusual and challenging angles. You're very good at capturing the sense of movement and personality! I look forward to seeing more of your work.

(P.S. Mod note - I locked the accidental extra copies of the thread, I kept the latest one as I saw you had edited it, I hope I made the right choice!)
