i ordered an autographed football off of sportsmemorabilia.com and paid $120 for it. i got an email 5 days later saying to call them, there was an issue with the order. i went through 3 people, been put on hold for 30 minutes each time, only to have each one tell me they'd call me back. they sold me a football they didn't have. i emailed back saying i was very very unhappy with the way things were going and to give me my football or give me my money back. they wouldn't even reply to that. can i file a paypal claim against this company to get my $120 back? it was a gift from my grandma, i was going to attempt to sell plasma at 3 different locations to come up with the money for it, but she bought it for me as an early birthday present. i'm very disappointed about it. :(

Yes I think you can open a claim with paypal. You did enough to solve the problem bit they don't help you with a solution and communication is really bad. And the fact is you paid $120 for a football they don't even have. Defently open a case before it is to late!

thanks moondancer! i think i'll give it one last shot on monday (i really want a football signed by this player :( i've been saving for so long) and if they can't come up with a replacement then i'll file the claim.

Yes, you can open a claim.
 
I would just keep in mind that you only have 45 days from when payment was made to open it.
 
What a bummer though on how they handled the situation, especially on such a pricey item.  Hardly professional in my opinion  :(

Open a claim. If they do find send you the football you can close the claim again. (Some people need more stick than treats to get their asses moving to sovle problems.)

:crazy:  oh noes! they handled that really badly didnt they?! I would go ahead and open a claim ASAP since they havent offered a refund or a replacement and you've had 3 of them mess you about already.  If the football does arrive then you can close the claim ,or if you get refunded  and it arrives later you can always resend the payment
