Updating this thread with another I finished recently, Night Glider.
Here is G3 Night Glider. She was challenging with all those white details! I've been wanting to make her for awhile. It is fun to try to match up G1 and G3 poses...

I'd been wanting to do a G3 Munchy for years so here she is!

Apparently I enjoy the challenge of painting tiny TAF symbols all over G4 ponies  These ladies all have turnable heads and boil-styled hair.
Sugarberry:

Oh I LOVE Munchy.
Really well done on all of them!
-
They are all so gorgeous and professional looking. I love looking at them
-
What adorable Customs xxx
-
I like them all but I really like Up Up and Away. I think she looks great in any generation!
-
Oh these are so adorable wow! You did a fantastic job with all those tiny symbols
-
Ooh these are wonderful! I think DB is my favourite but they all look equally amazing. Love the boil perms!
-
These are great! I think Sugarberry is my favorite. You have a knack for getting the details of the symbols accurate and professional-looking. I just can't seem to find a brush small enough to do that. Great job!
-
Oh wow they turned out really great :)
Love pkw xxx

These are SO CUTE! Getting all those teeny symbols--oof! Great job! <3
-
Thanks everyone!
Yes I had to use a really tiny brush on them, I got it at a tabletop games shop - they have excellent paints and tiny brushes.

She'd never been a favorite of mine but she really grew on me so much when I made her! I think the bright pink hair helps, when she has faded hair it doesn't go so well with her other colors.

They look amazing! What kind of paintbrushes do you use if you don't mind me asking?

I love them! G1 designs truly work for every generation.

The paintbrushes I use for the tiny details are "The Army Painter" brand, "Wargamer: Detail" and "Wargamer: Insane detail" Those names sound so hardcore for something used on cute ponies  One thing I like about them is that the triangular shape of the handle of the paintbrush keeps it from rolling when you set it down, and makes it easier to hold steady. I may have bought them back when I lived in Europe years ago but I'm sure you can order them online. It looks like they don't make those models anymore but have ones called "Psycho" and "Character" that I would guess are similar or equivalent...

OMG, I love those little teeny TAFs!! I can only imagine how many times your eyes crossed painting them, but they turned out great!! And Munchy looks like a real G3 pony - I think it's that fabulous eye heart! Great work!!

Thank you for letting me know!! xx

Wow, the symbols are perfect!
-
How cute is that! I didn't know Munchy would look so good as a G3 pony.

These look so legit, you could have fooled me into thinking they were leaked designs! Really gorgeous work! Up Up and Away and Sugarberry are two of my all-time favorite ponies. <3
The sheen and uniformity of the paint is honestly awe-inspiring. What brand of paints/sealer do you use?

Thanks! Most of the paint is Vallejo brand Model Color acrylics and the sealant I've been using is Vallejo brand Polyurethane Matt Varnish (I do two coats). Eyes get 2-3 coats of Citadel Colour Gloss Varnish for some shine.
However, Munchy's full body repaint was with some regular cheapo craft store acrylic...let's see...Apple Barrel brand. And here's where things get weird. When I did her FBR, I didn't let it dry enough (it was summer and super humid here), then I sealed it with Vallejo brand Acrylic Resin (which I have used in the past for customs with no issues, it always worked great). This resulted in her being very sticky no matter how long she sat in front of the dehumidifier. Then I decided to try covering her with the Polyurethane sealant just to see what happened and WOW - she has the best finish ever. It is super smooth and matte and totally dry to the touch. I don't know how to replicate this! I've since done another pony with the craft store acrylic FBR, and then let her dry fully, and then directly sealed with the Polyurethane, and even though it is supposed to be matte she somehow ended up much shinier than Munchy. So right now I'm not sure what is going on...I have another pony I'm working on and I'm going to need to seal her at some point but I'm at a loss!
Update: I've just googled my issue and it seems that you need to mix up the polyurethane really well before using it to get the matte finish to work out. The bottle doesn't mention this >_<

Oh yes I learned this the hard way, too! I use Folk Art brand and it only says to roll the bottle on tabletop or shake *gently*... But I've noticed the best way is to actually mix it with a wooden stick.

Thanks for the info, I really want to try out that matte varnish! It’s the best I’ve seen, going by these ponies. :)

Well, wish me luck...I just ordered these! Thank you for the info. I am terrible at painting fine detail, and I didn't used to be, so I'm blaming it on my brushes, haha. I was actually able to find 'Wargamer detail' and 'insane detail' on Ebay, and I was going to purchase all 4, including 'character' and 'psycho' as well, just to try them all out, but I waited too long with them in my cart and the latter 2 sold out. Oh well. Anyway...just thought I'd post in case anyone is looking for them, it looks like the seller still has a few detail and insane detail in stock.
