« on: August 01, 2012, 03:29:04 PM »
Hi.

this is the first time I have taken a pony apart, WaW, it was dirty inside, really disgusting.
The pony had rust tail and is was really bad,
I could not get all the rust off but its much better now.

Here is some work photo.

Poor baby! I've seen rust worse than that, but only once. :( When I clean a pony that bad, I put on my best warrior voice and scream "THE WATER WILL RUN RED WITH THE RUST OF OUR ENEMIES."

Actually I don't do that... yet.

was it really rust off of it? Becurse some could look like really old soap and it was kind of foaming in the water, messy stuff.

Oh yeah, washing off rust makes a terrible mess, but there's the possibility that there's something else in there. My favorite solution for gunk of any sort when I want to be careful of the pony I'm cleaning is dish soap. It still takes a lot of elbow grease, though. I like to use the sort of makeup applicator that has a sort of bendable brush on the end-- it's great for getting down in the legs.

Yuck! She definitely need a good scrub to remove that! For the stubborn stuff you could try soaking a denture cleaner tab inside her and of course toothpaste or bicarbonate with a toothbrush on that tail! I cant wait to see your pictures once she is all gorgeous!

Eeeuuw!  :yikes:    thats a lot of rust!  But it should all clean up just fine ;)  I always use toothpaste to remove rust,  and it works awesome. Put some on the rusty hair and use a toothbrush to brush it through under some water. I'd say it works  99% of the time  (the only color its really tough to get out of is light blue for some reason) :awake:   You can use toothpaste on all rusty areas of the pony, and also Vanish Oxy action (pink tub) is great for getting nasty stuff out of the pony body too .
