Soooooo.... I've just started the Insanity workout. If I have added any of you on Facebook you may have noticed this from my annoyingly daily posts whining about it ! :silly:

My OH basically decided he wanted to lose weight, and not to be outdone by all the fit guys at work who lift etc, he decided to really go for it and do Insanity. Of course, he's trying to force as many people to do it with him as possible and I got dragged along. I'm really overweight, and am terrible at getting weight off and keeping it off. What can I say? I love chocolate and biscuits and mostly BACON!

So Today is day 8. On Saturday I had a bit of a breakdown, sat crying for the second half of the workout about how I was in too much pain and how I'm not getting any better and it's no use etc etc. But today I bought some proper gym trainers (had been wearing skate trainers!) and they have made a massive difference. I did notice I was doing better, I don't know if it's because I had a day of rest (Sunday you don't do stuff) or if it's genuinely because I'm improving but it felt kinda motivational!

So, is anyone else doing Insanity? Have you had results? Does anyone else want to join me in it? (Having others ALWAYS helps motivate!)

I'm 5'7'', 30 years old, I weigh 14stone 12 (that's 208 pounds) and I'm INCREDIBLY inactive so this is a big thing for me. My main motivation is to get healthier, I have a daughter who I struggle to play with outside, and I'd like to be more active with her in summer. I also worry my inactivity is rubbing off on her as we don't "do" outside stuff together. So. Here it is. I also know a lot of you younger folk will probably be horrified by my stats, but hey-ho. Honesty is the best policy and all that!

Gotta love Insanity! I've done it twice now, and I recommend all the time. It really gets you moving and doesn't take very long. It does manage to wear you out though. Good luck!!

Goodluck! I enjoy weights, makes you feel awesome and the added strength is nice too. I haven't heard of insanity before. Is it fun?


 :blush: This reminds me I have to be more regular with slow burn. It really helps, but I got a bit lazy lately. Oh, please mail any uneaten bacon to me! I'd gladly give any unwanted bacon a happy home, it's my diet food.  :dribble:

Hey, my mom gave me some good advice for losing weigh (I'm a little overweigh so I'm in need of  her advice). Don't drink your calories. If you're feeling hungry an hour after a meal, don't be afraid to eat something to keep your stomach occupied (you're not failing when you give in to your stomach's grumbling). Set a weekday aside each week to eat what you want guilt free. Eat as many fresh fruits and fresh vegetables that you want and exclude them from your day's calorie intake.

Best of luck! I hope you can lose the weight you want and be more active! Those are both awesome goals to have and your daughter's health and well being sounds like it will be an excellent motivator!

Good luck! I'm on a fitness journey too! I decided Insanity wasn't best for me, but I think it's a great idea all the same <3

While I'm relatively thin, I've been going through something similar.
I just found out that I have fibromyalgia, which explains a lot of pain, and my doctor sat me down and talked to me about how it would be good for me to start yoga or tai chi or something that would make me more active. It hurts so bad to push through. I'll do exercises that involve my arms (I have shoulder and neck problems) and I'll be so sore I can barely move. I'm trying to force myself to do it anyway though. When it all comes down to it's willpower and how much we want something. The computer is really good at stealing our attention away from things that need to be done too.
I should probably get up now and move around.
I think I will, because you've inspired me. <3

 :cry: Lunar Apple: I can't imagine having to go through that every day, My exscuse of being too fat doesn't really hold up against Fibromyalgia! I think being positively motivated helps with any illness where medicine fails us. Now you're inspiring me!

I haven't heard of insanity before. Is it fun?

Insanity seems to be a lot of leg stuff, lots and lots of bouncing around (great for making me feel very sick!) and lots of stretchy stuff. Basically severe cardio and whatever strength you remember to put in there between dying and falling over and clutching at your sides crying :p


Also: no bacon for you. All mine. :silly:

Congrats on making it to day 8!

I tried doing Insanity a few months ago and I don't think I even got to day 3. So believe me when I say I'm impressed! (I'm currently doing Jillian Michaels videos) I hope you're able to get more energy for playing with your daughter!

Congrats on making it to day 8. I have not tried it but I have had a friend that has. She lots a lot of weight and she looks great and feels great now. You can do it!!!!  I take Zumba and love it! :)

I heard that swimming is a a really good way too.

I go to the gym many times a week. :P I love walking and biking, when its summer.
