Over the years, I've always passed on the Chucky Cheese baby pony. I don't like the name or symbol. However, I just now after 20 years got an idea. If I ever got one, I can remove her symbol and have her as another blank baby Ember-style baby.
Some of you may think that's a monster move to disfigure a collectable, but I like the pony, hate the symbol.
-
I have two of them and it's one of my very favorite babies. I like the symbol because it's kind of unique, but I can see how not everyone would like it. I say if she'd make you happy without a symbol and you plan on keeping her go for it. :)

I've been looking for one, as i'm decently interested in animatronics, especially the ones from pizza time theatre, which is where she was offered. why are they always so expensivvve,,, ive seen one for 5 though, but im unable to purchase her >:( i think she looks better with the symbol, actually! shes just babie

Baby Cheese's symbol is everything. She has no appeal without it. :poke:

I don't think I've been (consciously) aware of the existence of this pony. To me as a middle-European, Chuch E. Cheese wouldn't even mean anything if it wasn't for a girl I follow on Instagram (I know her from another forum) who has a deep love for the chain and their animatronics. I think my complete knowledge of the chain comes from reading her posts, actually :P That said, while her bit-more-than-usual vibrant colours (especially her dark hair) are to my liking, the symbol doesn't really say anything to me, and I find it odd - but I can totally see how that can be different for someone growing up in the US. I really don't know how to feel about her... but that probably doesn't even matter, as I wouldn't buy her specifically, and my chances of finding her in the wild here are extremely slim.

I have one that I rehaired with GITD. I think she looks better...
There are so many pink Embers, you ever consider dying one to a darker body color and replacing her hair?

Oooo pics?? She sounds lovely!
I agree- I feel she's too rare to be playing around with, but its the buyer's choice really.

I have a mip CC baby, I never really cared for her symbol either but I would never remove a symbol just because I dont like it. It is one thing if the symbol is already damaged beyond repair... I mean, even if I dont like it, there are surely people who do want her. It dont seem right to me to ruin something because I dont like it when it could go to someone who will truly cherish it.

I disagree with this partly. She's such a cute pony, and I like her hair color, eye color and pose as well as her symbol.

I like the weirdness of her symbol. She's truly a product of her time and place.
To those who don't have /aren't familiar with Chuck E. Cheese restaurants, they serve kid-friendly food (mostly pizza) and also have an arcade with games to play, which you pay for with Chuck E Cheese tokens that are about the size of American quarters. When you play a game, the game machine spits out tickets for you to collect. (The better your score, the more tickets.) Then you turn in the tickets for prizes. So this baby pony was one of the prizes.
The prizes always "cost" soooo many tickets that I could never afford anything more than a cheap plastic harmonica or a few pieces of bubble gum. I would love to know how many tickets it cost to "win" this pony. I'll bet it was a lot.

Wow, to me this is totally new and interesting info, thanks for sharing! I didn't know the pony was available as a prize, I kind of believed she must have been some store-exclusive purchasable product, a contest prize, or something like that. It must have been frustrating as a MLP lover kid not to be able to afford the pony because it cost too many tickets...

Adorable! It suits her! :)

I really like her and her symbol. I never got to go CC when I was a kid maybe thats part of the reason why.

not to hijack the thread I did look it up they do have them out here but I doubt I ever would go. The closest I got a chance to go was one called Kids Quarters its simular for kids birthday parties ect.
I do like this baby and I really wanted her after I used to listen to MLP talk they talked about her a little. :)

Being from the UK I didn't know she existed until I spotted her in other people's pics here. She's been in my collection for years now and I wouldn't change her. I like that she is unique with the symbol. Also love her hair/body colouring :lovey: . I didn't like to call her Chuck E Cheese though- my friend Glacia (on here) suggested baby CeeCee so that's what I've always called her instead :satisfied:
BTW I reckon if you don't like the symbol then try and find one with a damaged symbol, rather than getting a good one and removing it ;)

CC was a part of my childhood friends birthday parties or field trips. The pizza was ok but I liked the games. Even though I never won anything good despite hoarding tickets. Saw the pony several times and I don't remember the exact amount.’ Except it was a large amount.
-
I actually never thought she was that rare, since it wasn't hard to get her back in the 1990s when there were other ponies like Blue Ribbon which at that time were much more scarce. Maybe it's changed or maybe I'm just assuming.
I never knew any of the stuff behind her story, either. I don't actually own one, she belongs to my sister, but all I knew was that CeC was a restaurant over there and it was some kind of promotion. I always knew about her because DV but she's one of those vague weird things that happened in the US to me.
I agree that taking off a symbol for the reason of aesthetics is not a good thing to do. But if you were to find one with a worn symbol then that might be different. It does partly depend on her rarity, but I have a small moral issue with buying something you don't like and permanently changing it when there are people out there looking for it in its original state and the number in existence is finite. Better to save that money for something you really want, and let someone else who really wants the pony have it and appreciate it.
It's just not good collector karma overall to damage something that someone else in the community might be really looking for.

CeeCee is a great nickname!
