Hair color match for Italian Gusty?
« on: February 23, 2012, 02:46:25 PM »
I have my first Nirvana (thanks so much to Applejackgirl!), Italian Gusty!  However He is missing his tail! I want to replace it, but finding a hair color... or at least a similar blend is kind of baffling me.

Here's a few pictures:

And here's a combination with my other green-haired ponies:

And then I forgot about Medley, who is actually the closest:

But a little light and blue-tinged.

I would be fine with doing a color blend as long as it looks similar, but I can't quite figure it out. XD  Any suggestions? The only green on Dollyhair I haven't seen in person is Poison Ivy. But it looks too dark.

Thanks everyone in advance for your help!

Congrats on getting her !
She's a very special lady !

Well, italian Gusty is a hard one I think, because, more than really color color, the texture of every italian gusty I ever saw is very special. Very 'straight' hair. No HK girl has that hair for sure...

I don't know what could do this, except another italian tail, maybe from another, baity, less worthy girl ?
Like a poor seashell or what ?

I've thought about getting some of Medley's color from dollyhair, since it's light and close enough to start as a base, then tint it with some dilluted black rit dye. Comparing it... it's like Medley or seashell's color, but kind of darker and muted.  I've dyed wigs in a similar fashion with sharpies and ink... but I'm paraonid of the ink rubbing off on the pony. At least the dye won't do it after it's dried!

The problem is the italian texture...

I have to check for medley, but I'm sure italian seashell's hair would do it.

I think lillico is right about seashell.  I don't know for certain though.  I happen to have a bait one too.  Pm me if you're interested!

italian seashell or italian medley are the only other ponies that have a match in colour and texture :)

as lilico has said the italian hair is pretty unique, is has a very straight texture too it and is a special shade of green!

you may want to try the sahde "unlucky clover" which isa slightly more muted shade of lucky clover. it still won't be an exact match though.

OR you could have some fun and give her a bright red tail to match the stripe in her mane? :)
