What's Your Favorite MLP Generation?

What's your favorite generation? I do include Tales, G2, and G4.5, which are sometimes excluded (especially G2 and G4.5, for having either no show or being too new). I didn't put in G5, because it hasn't come out yet. Which one of these generations appeals to you the most?

G1 is what I grew up with and is dearest to my heart.
G3 is second fave, its so beautiful.

Can't really vote as I can't really choose between 1,2 and 3 xD I can say my least favourite gen is g4, but they've found a way to sneak into the collection as well.

Hard tie between g1 and g3 but i'm going to say g3 because its what i grew up with

Admittedly you did include it under G1, but it makes me really uncomfortable seeing Tales segregated from the rest of G1 in the poll. It really should not be - the ponies from Tales were sold at the end of G1 in Europe and the UK alongside other ponies available in the years earlier.

I think G2 is also not obscure because it doesn't have a TV show. I think it's because the US axed it very early in production. Here in Europe it had a longer run and was more successful. I'm not sure why you wouldn't include it..? It's pretty normal to include it, isn't it?

The three older generations are not defined by their TV output, they are defined entirely on the toylines. I know that because we as a community defined the generation terms, not Hasbro, and it wasn't done because of TV shows. G4 is the first generation with a core focus on the TV show. Older generations it was more like the sugar you put on your cereal than the cereal itself. If that makes sense.

The idea that MLP generations can be divided by TV show is a mistake made by bronies looking at older generations through the veil of G4, but it's not how things were here pre-G4 and it really isn't a logical way of looking at G1, G2 and G3 anyway. (Though I suspect G5 will be more on the lines of G4, since Hasbro has both taken possession of the G term and had some success with the TV show premise).

For that reason I can't vote in your poll. I can't vote for half of my childhood and not the other half But G1 is my best generation because I grew up with it. Also because it was first, and without it, no other generations would have happened.

G1 will always be my favorite, as it is what much of my childhood revolved around for many years.

I am starting to trickle into liking G3s here and there...they are very pretty, colorful, and have so much variety.

On most MLP sites I see, the people love G4 and despise G3, and think G1 isn't very good. It's great to finally find people that enjoy the same gens I do!

I'm not sure I can choose between G1 and G3. That's a tough one!

Objectively, G1 is the best - most varied toys, best cartoons/films.
I grew up with G2 and half of G3. I love them so dearly.

G4 is slowly growing on me, so not my favourite. ( I love the cartoon but not the toys, only because they are too small!)

I'll have to tie with 1, 2 and 3 all being my favourite !

G1, because I grew up with them. Taff is correct that Tales is part of G1 though

G4 (pre-reboot) - I grew up with it and I like the anime look of the ponies.
Second is G2 or G1 - can't choose....

I like the toys for G3 the most but I like Tales the cartoon a lot! Was a little sad to see no votes for that one
