Anyway I've been drawing a lot!

I was really excited to maybe sell prints of this on RedBubble but apparently you need to have to draw on huge canvases in order to do that.

EDIT: Here's a Moonjumper I kind of abandoned. I really liked how the hair turned out but I wasn't satisfied with the pose. I was drawing a lot of ponies just standing around at the time and she was just another one. :(

I adore the standing pose sketch, too, but I know what you're saying about the need for more dynamic poses! The finished one looks perfect, I really love the tilt of the head and the raised hoof. There's so much personality captured in those little movements!

Here's what my icon is. I recoloured it to be my ponysona but it was originally art of my other OC Fairy Ring. :) I must've done this one in June. I wanted to try the classic G1 style properly, since I normally do the more current retro style.

Not bad for a first attempt! The hair was tricky but I eventually remembered how to use the marker and water tools properly. XD I'm proud of the background too and will probably reuse it whenever I do this style.

I made a version like a backcard too with placeholder text... my backcards are never serious. ;)

(Why is the symbol on one coloured but the other one isn't... :wonder:)

Also I really like how fat you draw them. I've tried that before and others didn't like it too much, but I think G1s should always be drawn plump. :lol:

Some PL style attempts from March or so. Featuring my OCs Mousey (grey), Bells n Whistles (yellow) and the Fairy sisters. Mousey is supposed to wear glasses but I couldn't get them to look right. :lol:

Every time I draw PLs I think "man, this style is obnoxious, isn't it?" XD

These artists are taking chances. Like I said, Hasbro is lenient. They did not come for MLP plushie creators for example. But it's against Redbubble's rules to use someone else's brand IP, trademarks and so on. That's how another user could report your stuff and it would get taken down, your account could get banned.
Redbubble and Teepublic have a program with a list of franchises you can create fanarts of. Each franchise states certain rules and regs, it's interesting to read. So for instance, you can create fanart of The Last Unicorn but only under certain guidelines.

Moving onto todays art, here's Pretzel! I've already drawn the other autumn-y ponies, so I thought I'd do one that has sort of autumn-y colours.

I got to try new things with the lineart and I like how it turned out! I've been using SAI for years but finally switched over to SAI2 and the lineart tool is SO much better! Lining is probably still my least favourite part of drawing but it's less tedious now and sometimes even a bit fun! Maybe I'll redraw the other autumn-y ponies sometime soon. :) But at the moment I'm in the mood to draw more G4s since I can get the thick lines looking decent now.

Also, just found out about RedBubble's confusing tax rules so I will probably stop selling there. :( I can't even explain what it's about because I couldn't understand it. Even after Googling it, people were as confused as I was. I know people have requested to buy prints from me before, and quite frequently at that, but I've only made 46 cents out of this so I'm not sure it's worth continuing even on another platform. I'll probably stick to commissions for money for the foreseeable future.

The sketch is interesting this time! At least to me. This is the first draft... usually I start off with more simple shapes then go back and make it more detailed, but this time I just went straight for it!
