I would not trust it!
Most of the time there is a link in that mail that will redirect you to a paypal site that looks similar but is actually a scammed site. So don't do anything!!!
I would call paypal and explain you got this mail and they can say of it is real. If it isn't they are up to date that this kind pf spam is around.
So call paypal is my suggestion  ^.^
Hope it helps hihi

I just got a similar message. I checked it against official Paypal emails and they don't match in anyway. There are several links in it so don't click any. I have recently put stuff on eBay and been buying so for me it didn't seem completely out of place. If you are able to report the email as a scam, I suggest you do so.

I'm getting these from both paypal and ebay wanna be's. forward straight on to either [email protected] or [email protected] so they can give details to fraud squads working on the case. They are called phishing emails. I was told by ebay that all emails from them would also be in my inbox as with paypal all payments would be in my account history. Do not open any links or attachments and never allow any downloads etc even when forwarding on. Hope this helps

Ive had these many times and the email addresses provided by horsenalityplus are the place you need to send them.....in fact if you roll your mouse over the link they have provided in the scam email (DONT CLICK IT!), it will show you at the bottom of your screen the real email hidden behind it, its usually somewhere in China and not paypal at all. Its a horrible scam and I know many people who are new to eBay who have been tricked by it so im glad it rang alarm bells with you

Wow..some idiot was busy today sending phishing emails. *knock on wood*  I have not received one in a long time.  But I report them every time.

I would send the email over to the email address's horsenalityplus provided.  And if for any reason you feel that your account was compromised I would change your passwords associated with ebay and Paypal to be safe.  In fact I would anyways just to make sure they did not get any of your information.  :)

Yep I changed my passwords too (Forgot to mention this) Its recommended you do this at least monthly anyways. (I'm really lazy when it comes to this, Gather I'm always broke from buying ponies etc so if they happen to get me on the day I actually have money in my account then they probably earnt it) lol :P

I also got two of those emails earlier today. I was relieved to discover it was a scam by researching the address, but for a moment I thought someone had gotten a hold of my account and I'd be in store for getting it sorted out all morning. I reported them both.

but for a moment I thought someone had gotten a hold of my account and I'd be in store for getting it sorted out all morning.

That's how they get people--someone sees a large order that they didn't make and quickly hits the 'Cancel Payment' button, thinking someone hacked their account... and the Cancel Payment button takes you to a place where your account DOES get compromised. >.<

I'm glad no one here fell for it!!

I have been getting the exact same email for months now... apparantly I just sent $113 from my now defunct paypal account from 2006 and also my closed down ebay account that was hacked in 2007

It's so fake.... and the spelling errors gave it away ' If you belive this payment was sent in error please click on the link below and enter your details'

ooooooh yeah I think I might do that. Morons.
