Man, this art style makes Pony Life look like a Disney movie. Yikes, that is hideous to look at! I like the toys though.

I wish I could go all out for Halloween this year! I've already decorated my place in tons of Nightmare Before Christmas decor and am wearing my Jack Skellington "costume" (really just pajamas that look like Jack LOL). Unfortunately, we have no neighbors since we live about 10 acres from any other person, so any candy we get will be for my mom, dad, and myself. We will be watching Nightmare, Hocus Pocus, and a couple other movies that my mom can enjoy along with us.

Honestly, I find it amusing that Fox waited for this particular generation to discuss MLP's "wokeness". The last generation...the whole series was a giant woke-brigade, to the point where it became insufferable. This movie, I thought, was really good in how it tackled issues like friendship, unity, and activism. It wasn't punching you in the face with "friendship! friendship! friendship!" like G4 was. There was a *reason* for the need to discuss friendship and unity, not just "Oh you're an introvert who would rather read than make friends? Here, let's take you on a 9-season-long journey to force you into being the princess of friendship.
And forget about My Little *Pony*, let's focus on all the other ugly little creatures we have here and forget the what the whole franchise is about" A New Generation, though it does hold what some might consider political issues, tackles it in a way that's not insufferable like FiM was. It's just funny how Fox kinda just ignored FiM (though it definitely went after the fanbase...) when FiM was soooooo much worse and unsubtle in terms of political messages.

I am liking this generation so much more than G4. This movie sold me, for real. I got *so* tired of Pinkie Pie in G4 after a while, but I feel like a few years of Izzy will be great if they keep her the way she was in the movie and don't give her more energy. I was also impressed with how much I enjoyed Zipp. Spoiler And honestly, I found myself enjoying the villain, too LOL. He was just...so ridiculous, I loved it. I also enjoyed the music so much more than the G4 music. I thought I'd get sick of the pop songs, but I found myself listening to them over and over. Even "Glowin' Up", which I didn't like at first. But man that is an ear worm for me. However, "Fit Right In" is my jam! That scene is so perfect in my eyes. When Izzy, Sunny, and Pipp start dancing together, I melted. I think my only "gripe" is that I wish it was just a *little* bit longer? I wanted to learn more about Pipp, since she ended up being kinda the least focused pony in the movie. Not sure why she's getting all the merch when Zipp is the main pegasus, but I guess "pink pop pony sells". I hope we learn more about the other ponies in the movie, too. I *really* wanna learn about Queen Haven. She fascinates me. I'd also love to see some flashbacks of Izzy finding that letter that Sunny set as a filly. It was a ridiculous coincidence, but even so, my heart melted. Ugh I just loved the movie so much and I can't wait to see more of those ponies![/spoilers]

Oh I looove Zipp's design! She and Izzy are quickly becoming my favorites, though I guess we'll see what happens when we discover their personalities. I'm getting a "Rainbow Dash" vibe from Zipp's stance in the image of her, and I would love for her to be tough and loyal, just without the Dash ego LOL.

I found a Dream Beauty (Spritzy, from the Trim 'n Grow line) for $3. I passed on her, not knowing she was a Dream Beauty, but I was curious about what she was because she was really pretty, and I'm kicking myself for not buying her. I'm planning on going back to pick her up tomorrow. The problem is, her mane has been severely cut. I'm really not a fan of collecting ponies with cut hair, but...she's a Dream Beauty, after all, and those things go for hundreds of dollars on eBay so there'd be no way I could get one through there. Question is, does she require a special method of rehairing? Her plastic feels harder than regular MLP so it feels like I couldn't do it through the regular method. Really, a rehair is all she needs. She's in amazing condition otherwise.

I hope that thing is fake. And I really hope that cast list is fake. Other than Daniel Kaluuya and Susan Egan, I can't stand anyone in that list. But it does look fake, especially with that title and that "based on a toy line by Bonnie Zacherle". Probably a thing made by some random fan.

They are really ruining it with that two-name, human-style naming system. Shame, honestly, because I really like the style otherwise. Its not as big an issue to me as the ridiculous premise, but it’s still another strike against it.

I'm digging the style, TBH. Not particularly digging the synopsis, though. Didn't we already do the whole "everyone becomes suspicious of one another and they all separate into species" thing already in the previous series? In fact, didn't that make up the whole plot of the series finale? What, did we just forget that? Also really dreading the whole "making new friends out of old enemies" thing, which is my most-despised trope. We're really gonna do that again, huh? I don't know, I'm just tired of these forced messages. But this series isn't for people my age anyway LOL. I suppose kids don't need to know how the real world works till they're a little older. I do like the style, though, and I love that they have an orange pony in the lead, and not a pink one! Also wondering how they will translate into toys. I do hope they're a little bigger than the G4's were. G4s are way too tiny. Though knowing Hasbro they'll be the size of a flea.

Nah, Randy's not back, unfortunately. And yeah, it feels so off without the Goodfeathers, Rita and Runt, etc. Heck, I'd be happy if only that kid who talked about Randy Beaman came back. I want to know what that dude's up to as an adult!

They lost me during the opening theme. I just cannot stand this reboot, which stinks because I adore the original. I'm sure it's because they hired all new writers and didn't get any of the previous creative team, except for the voice actors. And really? They're not going to hire Randy Rogel to help make new songs? Bad move, folks. Baaaad move.

Oh...dear. I'm not liking this. I like that they kept the voice cast, so...that has it going for it. But I'm not liking that style. Not liking the really simple flank symbols. Not liking the faces. I'm just...not liking much about this series except the voice cast. I've just got a big grudge against this whole "simple" style that almost every cartoon has these days. Don't like it with the Care Bears, don't like it with the Ponies.

I don’t think I’ve ever experienced anti-nostalgia. I’ve always preferred media from my childhood to stuff today. I guess I might be a little embarrassed by my obsession with boy bands in the 90’s, but otherwise I like everything from my childhood a lot more than stuff of today.
