Starshine
« on: July 03, 2012, 10:56:54 PM »
OK what is up with having so much trouble finding a MINT condition Starshine?

Her symbol always has those stupid ugly spots of some kind in it, or her head and body are a mismatched white or something!

If anyone finds a MINT Starshine - please holler at me! Or at least let me look at her pictures and be jealous.

At 30 years old...the old girl is not always her shiny and mintiest best I guess. She is certainly not impossible to track down in lovely condition so I am sure you will find her...you could try a want post over in the Wanted forum if you are really keen!

I know how you feel! It took me 9 years to track a lovely Starshine down and I just got her a few days ago.
I think she's been cleaned by a very talented person, but that body is so hard to find actually white!
I'm having the same problem with Surprise.

Well, Mine isn't MINT but she IS very white and her glitter is all there. She does have some of those splotches in her glitter but I don't mind them much. Here's a pic of her <3

She is lovely! Mine looks about the same - except her head is more... opaque? ... than her body. So it ends up looking off color. The head and body are both a brilliant white, it's just that the plastic is thicker on the head so it doesn't look as milky as the body does - if that makes sense.

I would believe 9 years, SoSoftSurprise, I just hope I have better luck and find one before then. For now, I will keep the one I have even though she is bugging me. But only because I felt bad for throwing out with the "sell pile". I could swear I could hear her crying in there lolol ;P

She has a tendency to turn brown over time, common with some white ponies. A lot of ponies with glittery symbols will rust under the symbols (some spots get to be dark black too).
I have a solution to the sun burned look tho..

Her body was very brown. I tried to sunfade... don't sunfade starshine... she burns... But she pearlizes nicely...

That's what she looked like before. She's a very extreme case of discoloration. So I hope you don't feel so bad angela22. :o)

It could be a thing with white ponies, as a lot of them are my favorites and are hard to find in what I'd say mint condition. My starshine has a spot or two I can't for the life of me get rid of, but I still love her. I hope you find a nice mint one, good luck to you.
