Who or what is this? Care Bear-looking bear toy ♥

Hello everyone! I hope you can help me out a little...

So I recently found this little cutie one in my parents house (my childhood house), and I have no idea where it came from. I am almost certain it is not mine, it might have been from one of my cousins or so that forgot it or gave it to me at some point...
But my main question is, who or what is it?
It reminds me of care bears, but I doubt it has anything to do with them... right?
It's soft and fussy on the outside but has some sort of hard plastic ''inside'' and on its feet/hands, and it can ''cling on'' to things (like in the picture). I think that it is very cute, but I'm curious who it is... ^^ There are no tags or stamps anywhere on it...
I've tried to research it but I havent found anything.

He looks very familiar to me! I know I had quite a few of these sorts of toys when I was young, but I don't think they were any particular brand.

Oh wait! I think those were supposed to clip on your backpack or something! I remember seeing something similar on a Care Bear ID site years ago!

My guess is that it is not official Care Bears, but made to look like them (in other words a fake). There were many of these about in the 80's.

Wow, mine does look very similar to the one in your picture! And that page was interesting too. Had no idea these things existed (I'm a child of the 90's, so I guess I missed out on that)

These were a real 80s fad . I had several of these "clippies", still have them. One of them definately looks like a Monchichi and I have a Pink Panther one hanging next to my desk.

Oh my gosh, I would have been all over this fad were I an 80's kid. (or frankly, any age in the 80's.)

I love seeing how fakies progress like this, how toys evolve from other toys and from cartoons and vice versa, it's so neat.

Yeah, I feel like there were some really great toys that I missed out on by being born mid 90's! So many fun and creative toys, both fakies and what not
I do agree that some fakie versions of toys or cartoons are really cool!

I had a similar one in the 80s, they were the cheaper version! But still 80s pastel goodness. I still have my clip on small Panda, koala and tiny brown bear, and there were clip on fakies of Pound Puppies, Care Bears, Monchichi, and Cabbage Patch Kids from what I remember.
