Yeah...I posted about this in another thread...I really think disgraceful [strong word but how I feel]....I wouldnt mind if we were going to get a less grumpy and better service but we arent...all this will do is kill first class and suddenly make some courier services the cheaper option.

I know there is an argument that says 60p to get a letter anywhere in the country in this day and age is a bit of a bargain...but as someone who sees her mum slugging away for her charity and due to her older clientèle has to send out post [thousands and thousands of newsletters and other letters every month] I see this as something that will damage small businesses and charities who simply cant afford it. Also why Royal Mail thinks it has the right to rise so significantly above inflation [40%!!!! on the price of second class] is unreasonable...if they are going to do it...do it gradually dont terrify us all in one go!

yep I was reading about it in the paper today and like everyone else I hate this- as if we arent paying out enough already with all the other ridiculous price rises going on here     .  *rant* actually I loathe living in the Uk completely. the place completely sucks now   *end of rant*

This sucks, I've just decided to start selling online!!!

I'm fed up with post at the moment, especially as there seems to be a huge delay on everything at the moment and I keep getting stung for customs charges! I know that's not exactly the post but it's still HRH's 'service'. Makes me sick!

Sounds like your postal prices are matching ours here in Canada.    It costs 61 cents for domestic mail, 1.01 to USA, and 1.14 everywhere else.

we were talking about this in work today

i work for a mail order company and we use RM, even thought we have a franking machine it is stil £££ for use to ship stuff.. i know a lot of other mail order companies use couriers like TNT becuase they are cheaper and better than RM.

there is a DHL counter at my local staples were they have standard fixed rates for packets, i may have to look into it.

Aw, crow!!!! What a bunch of malarkey! I'm afraid it's happening everywhere. I hope that the service does at least improve for those of who who have had issues with poor service in the past.
