I was pretty much never going to show this custom off because I was kind of ashamed of it… but then I figured I may as well
She started life as a bait Firefly with hardly any glitter on her symbols and what may have been excess factory glue all over one wing. I cut her wings off and sculpted her cape on as thin as I could… then her armour, which is where I almost trashed her the first time. Getting in between her legs to sculpt nearly drove me mad so I baked her then set her aside.
When I came back to her I almost trashed her again trying to paint her armour, until I popped it all off to paint in pieces (why didn’t I think of that earlier?!).
During this struggle with her armour I also tried to give her a FBR to cover up some staining from her cape painting (as well as other marks she already had). I mixed up a colour and painted her at night, but in the morning light I thought she looked disgusting so I tried another shade, still disgusting! Instead of admitting defeat and chucking her I had to wash and sand several layers of FBRs off. She had stains and smudged paint residue all over and she almost went in the trash a fourth time but I wasn’t going to give up now, not after everything we’d been through!
I decided to make it work for the design, added some scratches and blood so she looked dirty from battle and finally glued her armour back on and gave her a symbol. She may have been the ugliest ordeal I’ve ever had with a custom but we made it in the end, and she doesn’t look half bad.
So I’m not totally ashamed of her anymore and wanted to share her, thanks for looking.
