Here's an update on my progress:

As I have two other pegasi customs to do, I already had a bait mostly prepped. Tonight's work was removing the remaining hair and neck plug, and then putting in supports for the horns. The wires will probably be trimmed down a bit more, but I wanted extra to work with.

Today's work was removing the factory paint, and then I started on sculpting. I'm working on taking sculpting slower, as in the past I have often tried to work on too much and then managed to wreck my progress while working. More work is needed on the horns and the wings, but I'm pleased with the start.

Yikes! It's been longer than I realized.

The horns were giving me a bit of trouble, and didn't want to come out anywhere close to the same size! And there was a small mishap with my apoxie sculpt one night. So, after re-working the horns a couple times, they're finally done! They need a bit more sanding to smooth everything out, and then it's one to the FBR!

My airbrush has done nothing short of making me want to rip my hair out these past couple weeks. After finishing up a couple other customs, I went to start the FBR... only to break the nozzle on my airbrush. I got the replacement part right before going on vacation... and found that my air compressor didn't want to work! The fairies decided to fix it while I was away though, so that saved me some added grief. I attempted to do a couple coats by hand, but that just came out awful (hence no updates). I took some fine grit sandpaper to her to smooth her back out, and have started on airbrushing her FBR. She still needs a few more coats, though the airbrush paint I'm using dries way too slow making it hard to get it done. I really like the color though, and I hope you guys do too!

FBR is just about done. The head is currently drying, which is why it's not in this photo. I just love the rich royal purple color! Now the fun in all the detail painting and rehairing gets to begin!

Started on her cutie mark, as well as her wing embellishments. The cutie mark still needs the eye, but I think the wings are in good shape. The white for the eyes and horns is being trouble-some. Or really, I should say the purple isn't playing nice with the white. More coats!

Lots of pictures tonight! This is the end of painting, unless there is something that egyptiondragon would like me to change. I did a gray drop shadow under the black, since it wasn't standing out very well against the purple. Now she just needs to be sealed, and hair!

Somepony's getting their hair done!
I cannot tell you how glad I was that I managed to get the head back on without a) breaking the horns or b) it not sitting properly and needing to be glued in place! I'm trying something new for the hair in an effort to make her bangs, since her horns prevented me from using one of the alternate hairlines. I added some extra plugs of hair and thatched (I think that's the proper term for it) the hair on the top of her head to lay around her horns. Her hair is all wrapped up now, and just has to dry for a day or so before it gets trimmed.
