Customs / G4 customs - help!
« on: March 01, 2014, 08:19:30 AM »
I'm in the process of making my first G4 custom for myself.

How do you get the hair out of the head?  The hole is only about 5 millimeters wide and none of my tools can get in to grab and pull the hair out.
Are there any alternative methods to remove the head hair?
Am I supposed to cut out that piece from the neck like you do with the plug from the body with an x-acto knife, so that my tools can get in there?

Thank you! :dizzy:

Pony Corral / Re: Not feeling the love for our G4 collection anymore
« on: January 27, 2014, 04:39:49 PM »
I had the same revelation yesterday.  I realized I was about to spend $10 on a single pony that I didn't even like, just to complete a set.  "Wait, how many sets of the main six do I have now?"  Dismayed, I put it down and walked out of the store.  I work hard for my money and I'm no longer going to waste it on G4 ponies I already have 6+ of that are almost identical.

A few weeks ago I decided to not collect more than a single version of each character in the Fashion Style size because of how expensive they are.  Then I was considering whether or not to collect all the new "taller brushables".  I'm glad Hasbro released this ugly Rainbow line to make me realize how pointless these repeats are to both my collection and my wallet.  I still love the G4, but from now on I will only collect the UNIQUE brushables and special ponies (glimmer wing, glow-in-the-dark, etc.)...

 for the fellow unenthused collectors.

One of the main reasons why we keep seeing the same ponies is because they are the stars of the TV show.  Although Hasbro has finally branched out and included some side characters (though most are not brushables), we aren't seeing enough newcomers on the show to warrant a full wave of different ponies.  If they would just introduce more ponies like they did on the show in the 80s it would be great.  New groups of pegs, unicorns, etc. coming to town... sigh.

Pony Corral / Re: Displaying boiled cancer ponies with unaffected ponies?
« on: December 26, 2013, 09:12:03 AM »
The cancer spots I'm talking about are the brown spots with rings around them.

Some of the ponies did have pindot but I boiled them in water/oxy and scrubbed with baking soda.  Most of it is gone now; hopefully that's enough...  :wonder:

Pony Corral / Displaying boiled cancer ponies with unaffected ponies?

Hello,

Can you display ponies that have cancer (but have been boiled in a pot of water with scoops of oxy) with ponies that do not have cancer?  Will the cancer spread to other ponies or not?  Has anyone here tried this?

Thank you!

My childhood best friend gave me her ponies!  However, the basement that they were stored in had flooded.  When I got them I gave them a light sponge bath in hot soapy water, but they still smell awful.  Just imagine mildew, dirt, and general ick.

If you have any advice to offer with smell, grime, etc. I'd be greatly appreciative.

**When using a magic eraser on these do I need to be careful of not spreading "stuff" from one pony to another?

**What do you guys use to clean the insides of all their legs?  I haven't found anything that worked well.

Thank you!!!

The teal braid with a lady bug might go to Petal Blossom G2.

I just called my Costco.  You can't even buy a cash card (gift card) for someone without a membership!  I absolutely hate members-only stores like this.  It's like offering someone your money and them saying, "No, thanks."  Okay...?!?

Does anyone have a solution to this or a get-around?  I don't know a single member and I am not interested in becoming one...
