Title: I learned a very important lesson with my Airbrush
Post by: sd_dreamcrystal on January 19, 2012, 12:37:01 PM: Well I've only been using this new airbrush for not a full yeah (on and off) and these last few times I was wondering why I wasn't getting much paint out if it.
So the first time I took it apart and for once managed to get the two tip parts (not sure what they are called XD) off to clean them out and it seemed to work well after that.... Then today well barely anything... even water... tried to clean it several times till I found out what part was clogged... Yay for the help of a beading needle!

So I can fully say I've learned how to better clean this thing xD Clogged Airbrushes are not fun and frustrating :| But now I can work on this one fakie that is begging to be worked on XD

Post by: twofishies on January 19, 2012, 01:31:09 PM: I run rubbing alcohol through my brush after every time I paint...okay, not EVERY time. But I tell myself I should after I forget and then have to let the brush soak for hours.

I thought running the airbrush cleaner thru it was enough, so I couldn't figure out why in the world it was just spitting a few drops of paint after a couple of uses. I finally figured out how to take it apart (thanks to youtube) and cleaned a lovely rainbow of colors out of it. :P

Post by: pop-girl on January 19, 2012, 10:18:04 PM: I completely disassemble mine and clean it after every session. It's the only way to keep it in like new condition and make it last - I've had mine for 15 years. ;)

I generally clean mine very well but sometimes it still insists on clogging, a tiny needle has been like magic on my stubborn brush. I didn't know about rubbing alcohol, tho, I will have to get some.

Post by: fingerpaints on January 21, 2012, 01:19:58 AM: Airbrushes can be very fiddly things. I have been meaning to have a good play with mine, and figure it out, but never really done it. I am glad you have sorted out how to clean it more effectively :)
