So I've pretty much finished the customs that my husband designed - they're my first customs, and he wanted me to recreate our wedding picture with ponies. They started off as Rainbow Dash and a Feathermay that he'd picked up, got a couple of coats of acrylic paints. Eddie's got a tuxedo made of Sculpey, mine got a dress made from some of the netting from under my wedding gown (never again - that stuff is the stiffest netting I've ever seen and it seems to be a magnet for the hair). Their cutie marks are variations of our largest tattoos, Eddie's is on his foreleg because he's wearing pants, which works out well because it's actually on his arm anyway. I didn't do their glasses, and I'm waiting to find a tiny feather for my pony's hat.

I love to try out different projects and new things, and he decided a while ago that the first creation from any new project attempts is his. He's got terribly misshapen sock monkeys and crochets animals, origami of all sizes and shapes, glassware... so when I told him I wanted to try making a custom pony, he once again declared that the first one would be his. I told him that was fine with me, but he had to design it. And then he surprised me with two ponies and said to make us.

The story about the dress.... When I was little and at the age where little girls start thinking about wedding dresses and stuff, I had said something about how I was going to have a white princess gown when I got married, even though I hated white dresses. My grandfather pointed out that Chinese girls have red wedding dresses and use white dresses for funerals, and I had my heart set on a red wedding dress from that day on. Then when I did get married, we had a very hastily planned ceremony because of immigration issues, and the wedding we had wasn't how we wanted it to be - not our style (I wore white, and two days before the ceremony I was dying my bright pink hair to something much tamer). We had the chance to go to Vegas in 2010 and decided to renew our vows and do things the way we wanted this time around :)
