Popples were a favorite of mine when I was tiny (my 2nd birthday was Popples themed) and my kids have watched the revival on Netflix. It's alright. These are pretty cute, but I just can't accept them as Popples. I get really bitter about changes to childhood toys and turn into a grumpy old grandpa. I feel the same way about G3-4, though.

I've seen these at Walmart and I think they're darling. I have a few vintage ones and I like these new ones just as much. Please don't throw fakies at me!

Well they are very cute but they don't look like MY Popples.  But since I am not their target, that hardly matters 

I think the idea is-  "it worked before it can work again"

It seems like they wanted to give them names that actually sounded like names rather that random nouns that started with P. Tho they could have used things like Pauly, Pete, Patty, Pam, and Priscilla to keep up the theme. Unless it was just too confusing.
